We absolutely loved the adult mac & cheese! We will definitely be back! Rachel was an awesome bartender! Thx!

Don’t let the look and odd schizophrenic vibe of part pub, part wine bistro fool you. The food is much better than average(great bacon salad with blue cheese and adult mac and cheese should be illegal in a few states), and a half off bottles of wine Thursday night seals the deal.

Definitely one of our go to places. There is live entertainment on certain nights with musicians that are so talented! We like to ask Rachel the bartender to muddle us something new and different and she does an amazing job with her creations, which really is what sets this place apart.

My review is based on my first visit here this past Mother’s Day(5.08.2016) with a party of 12. LOCATION: The place is charming with long tables to fit big parties, quality décor and a great outdoor patio space. That charm doesn’t quite match the service. STAFF: The staff seemed very unorganized, a few times I saw the waiters walking with a couple of dishes and an unsure look on their faces. So much so that while our waiter was taking our order, another waiter was about to deliver plates for another table at our table — hello? Our waiter was friendly but overall the staff behaved as if this was their first brunch service and half the place was empty so it’s not like they were overwhelmed. It took about 10mins to receive the non-alcoholic beverages, another 10mins to receive our alcoholic beverages and about an HOUR for our food. MENU: I ordered the«basics» breakfast plate and bottomless mimosas. The food was delicious but not worth the hour wait. The menu is nothing to get excited over, I don’t really understand why they offer a plate of Bourbon pancakes or Whiskey French toast on their own(about 3 – 4 pieces of each). ANDTHAT’S IT. No eggs, no bacon, no fingerlings. Not sure about you but. I like variety! Not a plate full of carbs. Someone at our table actually ordered the pancakes and asked for a side of bacon but only got the pancakes. Our waiter apologized and said he put the order in(I guess the chef’s just don’t want you to have pork with your pancakes –_-) All I can say is. how dare they forget the bacon! The waiter made sure to let us know he took it off the bill, as he should. As far as the bottomless mimosas? I should’ve asked him to take that off too. I had the pleasure of only having 2 glasses because he didn’t come around often enough to top us off(someone else also mentioned this in their review, so it’s a thing! Do something about it please) I asked someone else and she said she would get our waiter, he never came. Would I go there again? Yes, everyone deserves a 2nd chance.

Came here for a friend’s birthday brunch and we were not disappointed! The area(Dana Point) is overall very nice, beach side, great wind and just a relaxing aura. This was my first time at Dana Point and TWB. Our server’s name was Chad(if I got this wrong, I’m so sorry!) and he was EXCELLENT! Great with our orders and requests, very easy going guy and cracked a few jokes with us. I personally always appreciate waiters with a great sense of humor and Chad was our guy. Our endless mimosas were never empty and he made sure we enjoyed our meal! We left the place definitely buzzed and had to walk it off haha. He took great care of us and we appreciate it! The menu itself is not overwhelming(which I liked) and I tried the chicken and waffles(actually like half our table get chicken and waffles) and it was bomb dot com. They have a variety of eggs benedict which is awesome because you can get either salmon or brisket or something on top — definitely never heard of non-salmon eggs benedict but my friends enjoyed them! Overall great place, great LIVE music, the bottomless mimosas selection WILLNOT disappoint you. Cheers to the Wine Bistro!

Came in for Sunday brunch on Mother’s Day and man was this place disorganized. We sat down at 11am and the place was still pretty empty, but the staff were having a tough time. Took about 15 minutes to get drinks and another 10 after that to get our order in. When the waiter was taking our order, other staff members were trying to drop off food meant for another table. We had been there for about an hour by the time we actually received our food. The food was good, but some of the menu options were off. They offered a burger, but it came with no side? It had a salad, but it was about enough lettuce for one bite. They also had a plate of pancakes on the menu, but again no sides offered. Other plates came with toast, eggs, bacon, and potatoes? This place looks like it would be nice for drinks and a bite for happy hour, but they blew it on the Sunday brunch.

If I could give zero stars I would. WORSTSERVICE. We’ve been here for over an hour and we have only gotten 1 refill on the«bottomless mimosas». It’s Sunday brunch and there’s only 2 other tables. Unbelievable. Go somewhere else. Seriously.

Arrived for brunch Sunday Valentine’s Day and the place was pretty much empty, another couple and I wandered around the place, because there was no one at the door until the bartender told us to sit anywhere. Fifteen minutes later our server showed up, mind you it was not busy at all, she took our drink order and disappeared again, ten minutes later ours drinks were served, she apologized said she was busy, mind you the place was not busy; four tables tops… On to the food which we received 45 minutes after being seated. Big Italian omelette was exactly what it said it was a big juice omelette with sausage, not prosciutto sun dried tomatoes pesto and asiago cheese. It was excellent, personally would of done away with the pesto. Hamburger was a hamburger, a little bit dry but okay, the fries were fresh and delicious. Overall it would of been better had we gotten better service, don’t know what the server was doing but she was not serving customers. Side note as we were leaving, we noticed the other couple that we came in with had not their food served yet. Maybe they were there just for drinks but we’ll never know now would we. Haven’t decided if we will return or not.

To be frank: this place is pretty unremarkable. It’s our second time here and there’s a new menu. Food was far better the first time. Had the salmon the first time and it was delicious. My guy had the flat iron steak and it was delicious. Decided to come back again and new menu: no steak. Very unimpressed with the changes. Wine selection leaves much to be desired. When you think«wine bistro» you expect greater variety vs store bought offerings. JLohr? Kim Crawford? Franciscan? 14 hands? Château St Michelle? The Burratta Caprese Salad was delicious but needed a drizzle of olive oil. Bacon Salad came with full leaves of butter lettuce. Not easy to eat. «Mamas Meatballs? Wouldn’t order again Served in a small crock reminiscent of French onion soup. On the bright side: Cody was an attentive waiter. Service had been great both times. Need to bring back steak. Cocktails(I.e. The maple old fashioned need to be at least two fingers BEFORE you add the ice cube. Lots of potential here. Hope they do well

Came here on a Friday night to grab a bite while in the area. The ambiance was nice and low key. There was a band that was setting up to play. We ordered the bistro slugger and the chicken n waffles. Both were delish! The server was nice but I can’t recall her name. We didn’t stay too long to grasp a true feel of the place or try any drinks but I would definitely come back one day.

The wine is great, but the brunch is even better. If you dig mushrooms, you should try the breakfast pizza. An excellent savory meal. The chicken and waffles is fairly delicious, but the seasoning on the waffles sets it far apart from the classic southern dish, so don’t except a homage to that classic; however adventurous eaters to the front. The piece de resistance is the red velvet pancakes. You simply must try them. No excuses. Your taste buds will thank me when you do.

Cool place and nice for a date or just a drink. Great ambiance. Service was great. Nice and super helpful. The stuffed mushrooms were good! We also had the Caesar salad and bacon burger. The salad tasted good but visually didn’t look at that great. The burger was tasty but a bit over cooked. Asked for medium but no pink in the middle. Overall I did like the experience and would go back.

This was my first visit. We were there on a Friday night and had a great time! The waiter was attentive and very helpful with food and wine suggestions. The wine was reasonably priced and they had a great selection. We ordered appetizers and a flathead. It was the perfect amount of food. The flatbread with the shortribs and arugula was delicious, but the beet burrata was my favorite… yum! This place has great ambiance and seems like a perfect place to go on a date or hang out with friends. The live music was also good and added to a fun night!

I came here on a Friday night for happy hour with a group of 8 and for some reason this place was basically empty! I couldn’t believe it. The food and service are really good, so I’m not sure why more people don’t come to this place! First off, if you check in on Unilocal you get a free glass of happy hour wine(yes, FREE!). Everyone at my large group ordered something different, but everyone seemed to really like their food. The highlight was my husband’s french dip sandwich, which came with crispy onion straws on top and a delicious au jus. I got the Southern Belle salad, which was also good, but a salad really can’t compete with a french dip, you know what I mean? haha The wine selection was good, and they even had a few craft beers. Our server was super funny and nice, I really liked him. And they even had live music! I would definitely come back.

Arriving on a Sat night after a Dana Wharf music cruise, we were greeted to some live music and a very spacious seating area. We decided to sit at the bar… no food was in the plans for the evening, but we did want to try out the wine list. I ordered a Syrah while my friend ordered the Muscat. Both were pretty good, prices were reasonable, and the server was very helpful. Although the place was not too busy given the time of evening(Sat around 10), it was still very nice. Looks like they have a number of different specials on various days during the week and a lot of interesting food items. We will give this place another try next time in the DP area.

They always say it’s in the details and it proved true with the unique lighting. Loved the pulleys. Now onto the food. We started with the button mushrooms and margherita pizza, both scrumptious. Chosen entrees were the short rib dip with fries and short rib with mashed potatoes. The fries were amazing and mashed potatoes were boring and cold. The highlights was the beet the barrata salad. I’m not usually a fan of beets. It doesn’t bother me to eat them but I’m not exactly running with open arms towards them in a field either. The salad with roasted beets was outta this world. Best beet salad hands down. Second best thing was desert, waffle with chocolate covered bacon. Can never go wrong when bacon’s involved. The biggest let down was the service. Our waitress would forget items or water. When she took our orders, she commented«Great choice», followed with up «Now, what did you want again?» If she was new, she should of wrote our order down. It wasn’t even busy. There was only a handful of people, and this hours before the dinner crowd. So I’m unsure why she was never around to serve us. Overall, it was a great evening. Will definitely go back but ask for a different server.
