I have been visiting family in Danbury for almost 40 years and this bakery has been part of the trip every time.
The grinders are a must, and if you leave Connecticut without eating the bola you should be arrested. If there were a sixth star I’d give it!!!

* Little Portuguese bakery *
This little hidden away Portuguese bakery supplies bread to a lot of restaurants in the greater Danbury area — apparently for about 30 years now. But going straight to the source is always best, of course.
I was tempted by the wide variety of breads and rolls, and settled upon the grinders which were 6 for $ 3.
The crust was crunchy, and the inside was pillow soft. A very VERY nice grinder.
I would have loved to try their larger loaves — but they would have simply been too much to eat!
