Rob is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had for anything. I have been taking weekly guitar lessons with him for 4 years, and I truly look forward to each and every lesson. They are a treat! After going nowhere for a year with a previous teacher, I am now able to play all of my favorite songs with a high level of proficiency.
Rob started by making sure I had all the correct basic, and then more advanced, hand mechanics. Right away, we also started playing my favorite songs, which made it easy and compelling to practice between lessons. He also helped me excel in strumming techniques, picking and soloing, and improvisation. After 4 years I am amazed that I am still learning something great in every lesson.
Rob has an encyclopedic knowledge of all the great bands/​guitarists, their songs, and their playing methods. To illustrate a point or technique, he will often play a short video clip of in our lesson of one of them playing a live performance. When you combine that with his own lengthy experience as a professional session musician, and someone who has played with top musicians and bands, you are getting instruction from a really seasoned pro.
Once a month, Rob organizes an «Open Mike» session for his students and other musicians who want an opportunity to play in a band, or to simply play just with Rob, in front of an audience. This is a great way to learn to play with other musicians (sympathetic ones), and to have some real fun.
I can comfortably say that Rob has had a real impact on my life, as he has given me the gift of loving to play music every day. If you’re serious about learning guitar, don’t waste your time looking around. You have already found what you are seeking.

I’ve been taking lessons from Rob for 2 years after finding him through Craigslist. I have a musical background, but had never played guitar before. Rob quickly taught me the basics with attention to technique and had me proficient enough to play in front of an audience within 4 months.
