Oh Stanziatos… You used to be the absolute best pizza I ever had in my life, but something changed this past year. The crowd has changed a bit recently, as has the flavor of the pies(had an awful special pie a few times… uncooked mushrooms…) but I’m hopeful they’ll find their way back to greatness again someday. The Cauliflower pie is my go-to, but Totes McGoats is a close second. Get a side of sauce for dipping! The salads are also super delicious.

We were desperate not to cook and didn’t want gross chain pizza, so the reviews here and the stars aligned. I ordered a sausage pizza and some Indian-spiced wings. My wife ordered a pepperoni and sausage calzone. All said, it came to almost $ 50. We were disappointed. The wings did make you think of Indian spice, but not very much, and the cinnamon flavor was super strong. The pizza itself was all right — better than average, and better than chain-pizza stuff, but nothing I’d call delicious, and not worth the money. Pretty small pizza, too — very thin, light toppings(with fresh basil leaves baked into the pizza, which was pretty cool), and overly chewy dough, in my opinion. The calzone had no ricotta in it, but there was sauce. It was essentially a pizza wrapped into a calzone shape with that same super-thin dough — definitely not its own unique food. The sauce was tasty but was very watery. We didn’t hate it, but we wouldn’t go back again.

Go on a off night(Tuesday or Wednesday) it’s less crowded and noisy. Sit at the bar and enjoy a custom cocktail or a specialty beer with your pizza. I love the piggy pizza. try it!

Chorizo chili is the best chili I have ever eaten! Awesome vibe at the bar and the bartender is friendly. Current chill music and it’s not too loud. I did the flight and their craft beer selection is all great. Kent Falls coffeemaker has a spice to it that is unique. Winter salad is really good.

My favorite spot for pizza. The topping combinations are creative and their crust is done just perfect every time. Even their salads are creative and flavorful. Everyone on the waitstaff has always been very polite and attentive. Beer selection is very good, too!

This is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust alone when it emerges from the oven, the wonderful crispness that is pillowy and soft. My most favorite is the Margherita pie which is heaven, the perfect dough with the correct ratios of high quality tomato sauce and cheese. Great ambiance, wonderful helpful waiters, every type of pizza you can imagine all made with amazingly fresh ingredients.

New owners I can’t believe it! Definitely different. We can definitely tell it’s not the same. The dough isn’t right and the finished product is just not the same. You can tell when the pride isn’t in your product especially when the new guys are busy hanging out with their friends and not paying attention to their business. Sorry but your business is not your living room. Pay attention to your customers. We gave it 2 tries. It was our number one spot.

A great option for locals and travelers alike. The Winter salad with wood fire chicken was fantastic. This order was to-go and the salad was filling and refreshing. Fast and friendly staff!

If you want to snap your fingers and be pretentious about wood fired dough with stuff like cauliflower on it. This SUPER, snooty, fancy, hipster pizza joint is the place for you. The paesan beer sommelier/“owner” dropped a few«cuz’s» here and there to remind you that its his craft beer place with ah-pizzeria. The pies looked nice but didn’t want to take out a 2nd on my house for a «12 pie that would maybe feed a 12 year old. Save your dough and go to Pepe’s to get your wine in a small plain glass and beer in pitchers without long descriptions. It’s pizza, cuz not poetry.

Absolutely my most favorite restaurant experience on my East Coast road trip. Manager/owner came over and offered samples of the specials, the edit staff was so great at answering our questions and providing for us, and excellent food!

This is one of my favorite low key places I like to be with friends… I liked so much I took my mom there for a special drink. The pumpkin martini became my favorite, unfortunately it’s seasonal… the flat bread appetizers(there are different choices) are awesome.

For 15 – 17 $ a pie, this place is complete Crap. We ordered a vodka pie and a pie with riccotta, spinach, pesto and mushrooms. We received Margarita with no cheese, except some Parmesan sprinkled on top, and both pies had no actual pizza part, except for the crust area. Both pies were completely burnt on bottom, just full black. So basically what we were tasting was burnt microscopic part of dough with no toppings almost. The garlic bread was cheese stuffed into a hero roll, with no «GAHHHHLIC». Even in NYC it’s not this expensive for unbelievably low quality. NYC has many decent local pizzaries where their most expensive specialty pizzas that are 18″-20″ pies for 17 $. I don’t understand where the raving reviews are from.

Wow! This restaurant deserves 5 Stars all around. Let me start by our server David, could not have been any nicer and courteous, he answered all our questions with a smile, real pleasure, he should be the poster child of great and pleasant service. Now for the pizza. I ordered Talk Amongst Ya Selves(crazy name??) Burrata/tomatoes/olives/oregano and half of the Cauliflower /Burrata/Truffle Drizzle, finger liking good. My husband order the Piggy Piggy, Mozzarella, bacon, caramelized onions, tomatoes, Balsamic, the other half was Sopressata; Mozzarella, Salami, Red Onion, Spicy Chiles; also delicious. Can’t wait to go back.

Update: New Owner, Old Greatness All the familiar places are still here, stopped by two weeks after hearing the owner had sold Stanz. Everything is as delicious and or interesting as always. Fear not. According to the waitress, who is always awesome, the new owner has changed absolutely nothing, which is a very good thing. Also reports of them introducing craft liquors to the bar menu soon.

Amazing! I went Friday September 11th, 2015 at 8:30PM. It was about a twenty minute wait, I went with a friend. It was definitely worth the wait. The interior is nice looking, everything looked clean and welcoming. Our waiter was super nice and responsive. I ordered a strawberry cider beer and my friend order something similar to my drink, both beers were absolutely delicious(gluten free), I tasted some of hers. We both ordered pizza, I ordered the vodka pizza and my friend ordered the margarita pizza, both were absolutely delicious(we tried each others pizzas). You can taste the fresh ingredients with each bite. Farm to table food for a reasonable price. It wasn’t too noisy but it really depends on who sits by you and what part of the establishment you’re in. I am definitely going back to try all of their pizzas and salads.

Wow! This place is really great. Farm to table food, good drinks, extensive beer and wine menu. It’s perfection. I had a glass of Chardonnay to start with which was crisp and delicious. For apps, we had wings, sugar snap peas salad, mussels & burrata. The wings were charred and crispy. The wood fired oven gives them a great flavor. The salad had a delicious dressing and was topped with ricotta salata, so good. The sauce on the mussels is just to die for. We asked for extra sauce on the side to dip bread and mussels into. The burrata was my favorite. Served with prosciutto and a fig jam, omg to die for!!! Next for pizza, we had a shrimp pizza and a meat lovers pizza. Thin and crispy!!! The wood burning oven is really the key. This place is a must try in Danbury. The ingredients are so fresh and delicious.

Went in earlier today for dinner. Walking in was similar to walking into a candle lit bedroom on a Valentine’s Night. Point being that it was dark in there. Well besides the lighting which didn’t really bother me, my date and I ordered a Vodka pizza for the both of us. The pizza is a 12′ and alone, probably wouldn’t have kept us both full and satisfied. Good thing we had a snack prior and ice cream after. Our waitress was nice and kept up with us to see how we were doing. All in all it was a good experience. Pizza was very good and would definitely come again to try another pizza.

I came for lunch and got sat down very quickly. Looking around it is definitely different than your normal pizzeria. It’s is following the theme of a wood stove pizza restaurant with a very dark feel. It’s got wood all over the place. Even the check is given on a wooden board. There is a sign right at the front saying«Important Things You Should Know About Stanziato’s» with 7 different facts. When you you go there you should check it out. I don’t want to spoil it ;) We sat down and we were se

Kind of in a league with Pepe’s pizza. Make sure when you order you get lightly cooked in case you don’t like when the bottom of your pizza is burnt. I prefer really thin crust that cooks super fast but I hate when it’s blackened on the bottom. They also have a great cider beer which is of higher quality than standard strongbow or angry orchard. I have only been here once but it wasn’t a disappointment.
