While the Sevier County Cooperative may be bigger, I really like our neighborhood farmers co-op. The electrical fencing supplies and chicken feed, is far cheaper then down the street. They let me special order my chicks, and had them delivered with their usual spring shipment. All 12 of my chicks are still alive, and healthy. They all seem to be hens thus far, which is what I ordered. It is really rare that a rooster does not get mixed in with a hen order, and even more rare that all the chicks make it through the first couple of weeks. If you are interested in poultry, stop by and chat with these folks. They have one of the best bee keeping supply selections I have seen in a store, and information on the local bee keeping club. I am giving them 5 stars based on their exceptional animal husbandry support. If they don’t have a good answer, they will call a friend, or give you a neighbor’s phone number. It is that sort of place. You can also buy hardware, seeds, tires, auto supplies, garden plants, and gasoline at this coop. They will usually leave shoppers to browse in peace unless one looks confused, and they always carry my purchases to my car.
