Went there today for lunch, service was terrible, food was mess and falling apart. It took over 45 minutes for a salad and sandwich. I will never eat here again.

Food was amazing. I had the fried pickles that were very crispy and the burger that was cooked perfectly. The service was great. Everyone was super friendly. Highly recommend.

A dive bar feel atmosphere. It’s an ok place if you just want to meet up with some friends after work hours inside the island. Bartenders make sure you are well taken care of though.

Don’t get the Gyro’s. Burnt frozen meat and it will cost you money to get Extra Tzakziki sauce. A ¼ tsp came on the Gyro. The service was great. No managers to be found. Would not turn on the heaters outside until we left.

We called ahead to ensure that they were serving Corned Beef and cabbage for St Patrick’s Day. We arrived and ordered. The waitress returned and indicated that they were out. We asked for a discount and was told we would get one. So, we stayed. Upon receiving our bill, there was only the price of a beer taken off. Additionally the other drink was charged at full price during happy hour. Strongly recommend that if you cannot get what you come for, don’t bother, just leave.

We’ve been here probably a half dozen times so here’s our take: The good: The food is pretty good overall. I’d recommend the lamb gyro, burgers and southwest salad. I’d stay away from the wings which were small and overcooked and the shrimp po-boy which had way more bread than shrimp. The service was good and the food arrived quickly and was hot. Also, the draft selection is pretty broad and has some nice options. The bad: There are a lot of tables crammed into this place so you’ll be sitting pretty close to the people at the next table who can likely hear everything you say. A little short on privacy for my taste. The place gets pretty noisy during trivia night on Wednesday. And, don’t bother participating on trivia night because nearly everyone cheats especially the people in the back bar. The guy who runs the trivia night is super nice so I can’t fault him but, due to the layout of the restaurant, cheating is too easy.

Like other reviews, I thought DIG was ok. The waitstaff was the highlight… very friendly and made dinner enjoyable. The food varied. The appetizers we tried were not all that great but the sandwiches were pretty good. Pretty straight«bar-level» quality. I would go back for a happy hour or to grab a bite if I was in the area but wouldn’t go out of my way.

Meh. I’ve been here a few times and everything is just sort of ok. It’s fine for a quick after bite work and their happy hour and the patio seem to be a big hit, I’m just not too impressed with the food. Most recently I had potato skins and a couple hot dogs — the potato skins were dry but the hot dogs were juicy and covered in cheese(the best way to eat them). The service here is fast and friendly, I’m just not thrilled with the inconsistancy of the food quality.

The DIG in Park Circle, North Charleston is very good but this location is a lot different. Food is mediocre, less clean. The bar out back must be a science experiment cuz it is always VERY sticky. Don’t let a mediocre experience here keep you from visiting the Park Circle Dig.

If you enjoy roach salad, this is the place for you! That’s right folks, at about noon on Friday 06⁄19 I was served a salad with a side of roach. I made the mistake of ordering a non-menu item: Salad with a burger on top. I usually order this everywhere I go and usually the waiter and chef are happy to oblige. The DIG had this as a special a few weeks back so I figured ordering it on this day would not be a problem. Boy was I wrong, I guess my request for a burger on a salad was ludicrous. The waiter first told me that they couldn’t do it since that was a special a few weeks back. I responded with; well could you just put a burger on the salad? I will pay whatever I need to for it. He went and spoke to the guy in the kitchen(he doesn’t deserve the title Chef) and apparently«convinced» him to make it for me. When the burger salad came out, the burger was extra well done(no problem) and there was a dead roach sitting on the edge of the plate in clear view. It was a small roach, but a roach all the same. I looked at it and then brushed it off to the side without disturbing my comrades. I guess I was trying to be considerate and not ruin their meals. So, I managed to stomach some of the salad(I was hoping to send the message«your roach salad doesn’t phase me punk!») although I was extremely disgusted and livid. Once my companions finished their meals, I warned them that I was about to blow. When the waiter came back to the table I calmly told him to tell the guy who prepared my meal, «thanks for the side of roach, it was a nice touch. I will pay for the salad since I ate some» he reacted as if he knew the roach was there and said he would get the manager. He then returned with the checks and said mine was covered. I said thanks and we left without causing a scene or talking to the manager. So, that is why I am writing this review. It is unfortunate since I, along with many colleagues frequented this place and enjoyed it. After this, we will never return.

Nothing great, nothing awful about Daniel Island Grille. Good place to grab some drinks and watch a game. I would classify the food as above average bar food. Their french dip and cougar chips are the best items I’ve tried. Everything I have ordered has been decent, again, nothing that will blow you’re socks off. The service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. They do have live music on the porch, which being in a very small space, can get extremely loud. Perhaps that’s just another sign I’m getting old. Overall, just a nice sports bar.

This is the second time I’ve been here. This time was actually better than the last. The burger I had today was good– pimiento cheese and a fried green tomato. The fries were soggy though. Not my favorite. My boyfriend liked his shrimp tacos but I was not overly impressed. It’s a fine place if you want to watch a game or have a drink but I would choose another place for food next time!

YUM! The hubby and I got two burgers, one with sweet potato fries and one with their regular fries. Everything was cooked to perfection. The blue cheese crumbles on his burger, the sauteed mushrooms and onions on my burger, both cooked to perfection, the fries were, too. We had our toddler with us and although they had child seats, menus, coloring books, and crayons, they had no changing station in either bathroom. Service was great. TV’s everywhere and a nice looking bar and outdoor patio with makeshift walls for the winter time.

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I gave it a shot after multiple suggestions by the hotel staff. They get points for the service and beer selections but the food is really sub par. I ordered the fried pickles buffalo style which would have been good if they weren’t swimming in sauce. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap at the suggestion of the waitress only to be disappointed as well. It was drowned in sauce. Note to the cooks, you don’t have to drown everything in sauce. It made everything pretty much inedible. The pickles were buffalo sauce soup and pickles and the wrap was maybe 3 chicken strips and buffalo sauce soup. Hint, less is more. The only edible thing were the fries and they were scarce on the plate.

I love Daniel Island Grill. It’s very convenient if you live on DI. I love their burgers and find their pricing on everything(drinks included) to be very fair. The service is good — especially in a bar /pub environment. My only compliant is that the restaurant has some very noticeable wear /tear. I hope the owners can fix the place up so these areas do not get any worse. Overall, a regular spot for me!

Working on Daniel Island I can tell you that the lunch and happy hour selections on the island are very limited; DIG certainly fills this void with delicious sports bar food for lunch and stiff drinks at happy hour. I’ve tried a few items for lunch at DIG and my favorite is the cheese steak sandwich; by far one of the best and biggest cheese steaks I’ve had in Charleston. A couple of other good items I’ve had here include hummus(very good and big), club sandwich, turkey avocado wrap, Hammering Hank Burger(perfect hangover cure with the sunny side up egg on top), and the handcut fries here are the best. But along with the good food is some dishes I would not recommend such as quesadilla, cheese sticks, and potato skins; none of which were that great. But everything else I’ve tried here has been great. Service here is usually really great. A little slow at times, but that’s the way it is on the island; you just have to learn to wait sometimes. The staff has been nothing but friendly here; and I usually have some pretty good conversations with the bartenders. I love coming to DIG and would have given them 5 stars, but after a visit last night for happy hour I was little disappointed. My wife ordered a couple of Grey Goose and cranberry drinks which I knew would be a little expensive; then we got the bill and noticed that not only is it $ 8 for a Grey Goose drink, but also they charge $.50 for the cranberry juice in there. Who the hell charges for mixer? DIG is my first experience of anyone charging for mixer, not even airport bars do that. Well, even though this disappointed me a little I won’t let it stop me from coming here for lunch and happy hour, but the wife is going to have start drinking beer.
