I am a lifelong Hamilton resident, and this is the only shop to go to for your home and garden. They have everything that you need and if they don’t have it, they will get it for you with a smile. They have a bait and tackle shop that is very impressive and stocked well for a smaller store. Fresh and lively bait, very knowledgable staff that is excited to get you what you need no matter what level fisherman you are. Dan Sr and Dan Jr are true professionals and great guys, we are lucky to have a small town farm store that is efficient and accommodating, Danvers Farm and Big Daddy’s Bait and tackle are a breath of fresh air.

Basically an Agway store, Danvers Farm and Home will have everything you need for your farm or garden. Walking in, I heard the familiar chirping sounds and saw that they carry a variety of chicks. So cute! I wish I could have them. Next, all I said was«maple» and the woman showed me what I was looking for without finishing the sentence. They were a bit more expensive(the little tapping spouts) than other Agway stores, but the fact is that they had them. I also got some seeds for the garden and was greeted by a cute little kitty. Definitely, will be here again on my way to NH if I need something.

Danvers Farm and Home is part of a vanishing(in southern New England, at least) piece of Americana — a gen-u-ine Agway store. Anybody who has agrarian roots will feel right at home in this simple, un-fancified, non-boutiquey hardware-and-farm store. From chick starter mash to lawn seed to salt licks, to varmint catch-em-alive-unharmed traps, to fishing tackle to fuzzy peeping ducklings in the springtime(state law sez you have to buy at least 6 chicks or ducklings), DF&H has what you need if you live in the ex-urbs or suburbs and like the country life. They carry Agway livestock and poultry feeds and some Blue Seal feeds. They have bales of shavings for your horse and livestock stalls.(Hint to hamster and rabbit owners: if you buy a bale of shavings from DF&H, it not only provide a year’s worth of clean critter bedding, it also will cost a tiny fraction of what a pet megasuper store will charge for a itty bitty sack of shavings!) I keep poultry and used to have goats(might get more eventually), so DF&H is a go-to place for me for supplies. There’s a bulletin board near the front door where people post flyers and for-sale notices. You might find some selling turkeys, ponies, puppies, a motor boat, etc.

I think this place was magically transported from New Hampshire. They sell everything! Pet supplies, bait, gardening stuff, firewood, pellets for stoves, canning supplies, and whatever else they usually sell at Agway. Probably farm supplies too. I was looking for enormous mason jars, which I found after briefly consulting with the cashier, who was on a first-name basis with the two customers in line in front of me. They have a kitty. A very friendly tuxedo cat.

Y’know.…it’s a place where you can walk in and say.. .“I have these baby chicks.. and I need one of those things.. . that looks like this.. *incompetent pantomime* to hold the stuff, and a warming lamp.. .” And they’ll lead you to just the right thing. Like they read my freakin’ mind. Nice knowledgable people, brawn to carry stuff to your car.. . And they had baby ducks. Baby ducks. quack. Ducklings. Little Mallard ducklings. I stood there staring at their fluffy cute waddly peeping quackiness for like 20 minutes, while holding my thing for the stuff. I now want ducklings really bad. They also have lots of plants for fleurs and also veggies. And some silly and also pretty garden knick knacks, just to round it all out, and chow for just about every domesticated animal you can think of. And they sell baby chicks and ducklings. I like it. :) peep quack
