This place has some seriously good(and plentiful) roast beef sandwiches. Nice pile of roast beef on a very flavorful and big roll. Price was pretty good, and make it a combo for about $ 12.00. Onion rings could have been better and more plentiful. Next time Im in New England, I will try something from their seafood menu… oh wait, I said I was gonna do that this time. Oh well, Ill be back.

Stopped in on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised. The roast beast sandwich was very tasty and cooked perfectly… But I was very pleased with the clam chowder! It was excellent(I only added a little pepper). We’ve nothing like Kelly’s in western Connecticut and I’d stop back here in a heartbeat if I were to come back to the area.

This is the stingiest location I’ve ever had the experience of ordering from. Their Surf and Turf consisted of very little food. I starved after finishing the meal. They put scrapes of roast beef in the buns, and it sucks when the buns outweigh the meat. Last but not least, today I ordered the clam plate and yes, good old me, I bit into a clam strip with a shell still inside and broke a molar. Not coming here again. Thank you for the broken molar.

I had a small roast beef sandwich a small onion rings and a small drink and it was over $ 16 ! The sandwich was OK the roll was a little doughy. Food was average. I could have had a steak dinner for $ 16. It was way overpriced.

Pretty good food if you need a quick meal. The roast beef is a bit dry and the buns are a bit stiff. The cheese fries are good as well as the chili and the burgers. Keep in mind, the chili has pulled pork and it a little peppery, but it’s good if you like that type of taste. As for the seafood, I would much rather go to the Clam Box of Ipswich. But all in all good place.

AMAZING! Their clam chowder soup is so delicious that I was tempted to get 2 more! Great vibe inside and the staff is incredibly sweet and helpful for new customers(like myself). Will definitely be back!

This restaurant is just OK… My biggest gripe is the price of the food. The roast beef is nothing special I could think of ten other places that have better roast beef. One thing I do enjoy here is the Pastrami sandwich and some bacon cheese fries.(not much of a sea food guy, no comment) On another note if you want to take your kids somewhere cool I’d say this would be the spot. They have a giant fish tank that kids stare at for hours. Another important side note is that this place is open later then most eateries in the area which can make for some great late night food.

Counter service. Nice people. Food was kinda blah. Not bad not great. Roast beef was not chewy and there was plenty of it just didn’t have a lot of flavor. Lobster roll was good. They use a traditional roll. Nothing special but if your in a hurry will work.

The food is always consistently good here. The onion rings are awesome! The portions are substantial. Service is always fast and friendly. Update: tried the surf and turf. The beef and onion rings were good. However, the lobster roll was the worst I’ve ever tasted. It was mushy, with an overpowering salty sea taste. Certainly not fresh, maybe frozen or from a can. Ugh!

Before I flew home to AZ I needed my Kelly’s fix. It was great the roast beef was great and the fried clams strips and fries awesome. The staff came out and gave my 3 kids balloons.

Went to Kelly’s drive-thru and ordered fried whole clams, a roast beef sandwich, fries, and onion rings. I was a little skeptical about ordering seafood at Kelly’s and should’ve trust my gut. The fried clams were pretty mediocre… the breading was too tough and the clams lacked flavor. The roast beef sandwich wasn’t bad though. It was filled with roast beef but I feel like they could’ve added a little more sauce to it. The fries were pretty average, and the rings had the same problem that the clams had… hard breading. Hard pass

Pretty good choice for fast food though not cheap. Drive thru option and location right off 128 exit are convenient bonuses. The restaurant is on the grounds of a shopping plaza(stand alone building). We had the surf and turf(roast beef sandwich and 4 oz lobster roll with onion rings), a fried clam plate, and a kids’ meal(grilled cheese). $ 48. The clams were pretty good. The lobster roll and roast beef were just okay for us. Nice service on the phone and at the drive-thru window. Was only able to peek inside the restaurant from a distance from the car, but the restaurant was bigger than expected and looked like it had a spacious and clean dining area.

This place is much better than what I expected! Have cravings for lobster roll and other satisfying hearty food? This place is for you. It is a very typical fast-food style dining room. The food does take a little bit of time despite it’s just sandwiches, etc. So don’t come if you are really rushed for time. For about 15 bucks, you can have the surf and turf which is a small lobster roll, the roast beef sandwich and fries or onion rings. I really wanted a lobster roll since I’m visiting from the west coast, but want to try their famous roast beef too. So the surf and turf is perfect! It’s like they read my mind… Several other things on the menu looked good too, such as the clam plate and the scallop plate. The dining area is incredibly clean and spacious. It’s almost too clean for this type of restaurant. There is a very amusing salt water tank with clown fish, etc. dividing the ordering counter and the dining area. It makes the long waiting period pleasant. This is int he same shopping center as nordtrom rack, khols, and bestbuy, and is across the street from bed bath and beyond. So there are plenty of opportunities to walk off those extra calories after dining.

The place has really slipped. Grabbed a beef at the drive through and the meat was dry, the roll was hard and they skimped on the mustard. I’ll be driving on over to Bill and Bob’s when I am in the area. I hope that the Revere Beach location is still the same.

This restaurant is great!(Second favorite, behind Chili’s) It is like a cross between a fast food restaurant and a sit-down one. The original Kelly’s, on Revere Beach, is A BIT better, but this one is still really good. They have some fast-food type of foods, and some more fancy foods, it provides plenty for all types of eating styles. I usually get the chicken fingers and french fries, which are DELICIOUS, especially the fries. They also have pizzas, subs, salads, seafood, and of course, roast beef. And the best part of all, is the touch-screen drink machine, with over 100 juices and sodas! Definitely consider eating here if you’re close by, or visit the other chains in Saugus, Revere, and Medford!

Kelly’s is nothing short of 5 stars. Tried the chili for the first time. It was in a class by itself. Shredded brisket mixed with peppers. Gotta try it.

Oh how I miss Kelly’s roast beef! I love the surf and turf here. The lobstah roll is so tasty! The bun is buttery and toasty. The lobster is buttery, succulent and is not soaked in mayo. It’s made to perfection. The roast beef sandwiches are to die for! Everything I’ve tried on the Kelly’s menu is so good! The clam chowdah here is not rich. The broth consistency is watery. This can take a sec to get used to when you’re used to thick, rich chowders. Give it a chance though, it is actually delicious. I was told that this style of clam chowder is Rhode Island style??? This location is great and spacious, but not open as late as the one on route 1 south. This is a fantastic New England chain. Pleeeez open one in Florida!

It just doesn’t get better. No matter how many times I go there. I always leave disappointed. I ordered two small roast beef with provolone. Both sandwiches were cold. You’re dead to me!

When you select Kelly’s Roast Beef at this location, your choice is most likely based on location, convenience, the well known restaurant name, and perhaps a roast beef sandwich. Convenience would be by using the drive-thru service, which is known to be a bit slower than your typical drive– thru. The restaurant has a few options on the menu but I’m here for the beef. For just about $ 10.95(before taxes), you get a meal consisting of large beef, fries, and large drink. If you want just a standalone small sandwich, it’s $ 6.75(before taxes). So, for a few bucks more, you get unsalted fries, and a beverage that is 75% full of ice. In my experience here tonight, it was pleasant eating my large beef, cooked medium well. Unpleasant eating the unsalted fries because I like some salt on them. If I saved $ 4, and just got the sandwich, I would then have extra money to buy a dessert across the street at the other restaurants. As for the exterior, the parking is scarce on a busy day. At this time of the day, I see 4 open parking spots. For a tip: if you like salt on your fries, don’t forget to ask for some. The staff ask you, but just in case, remember to ask. Otherwise, you’ll have unsalted fries. The beef sandwich was delicious at this visit, just what I expect at Kelly’s. The cost is a bit high, but you’re paying for the business name and quality of food, not quantity.

Seriously people, an average rating of three stars? Same as the Burger King across the street? I visit Kelly’s a couple times a year when I’m in the area, and while it is not always perfect, it’s always very good. We visited twice on our most recent trip. The first meal was the go-to combination of roast beef and chowder. The chowder was excellent, lots of clams, wonderful flavor. The roast beef this time was too well done, and a bit dry. For all their wonderfulness I don’t know why Kelly’s doesn’t have bbq sauce available at the condiment bar. Sometimes I order extra sauce on my sandwich and get too much. This time I just ordered it with sauce and didn’t get enough — the beef being dry compounded the problem. I guess I should ask for extra sauce on the side. Second visit I got a ruben, David got a shrimp roll and we split a greek salad. The ruben was first rate. David was thrilled to see the shrimp roll back on the menu and it didn’t disappoint — tons of shrimp, fresh, dressed just right. Even the greek salad, a simple item, Kelly’s takes the time and effort to do it right. Generous amounts of cucumber, black olives, very nice dressing — it rivaled salads at our favorite greek restaurant back home. Another complaint this trip was the fancy mix your flavor coke machine that must cost thousands served diet coke and coke zero that were both terrible. It wasn’t perfect but it was still great and I’m glad I chose it over the Burger King.
