The managerJosh is great — the food is fresh and service is fast — I go there with my grandchildren and the staff is always so friendly to them — and the children are not bored because they have a couple of games for them to play

I actually really like the food here but… The worst service ever at this place the manager does nothing to organize the staff that seems more intent on hanging out than serving the customers. All member of staff openly discussing how bad co workers are and how much their shifts suck. I ordered a lunch special Penne and meatballs and waited 20 minutes for it, and got the Bread that goes with it as I was finishing my meal. I have ordered take out here a few times and every time It was really difficult to get them to understand what i wanted which was straight menu items, twice they messed it up. So now as much as I like the food I will go elsewhere in future.

The reviews were bad but I called anyway for a pizza delivery on Liberty St. in Danvers that was 4.7 miles away from this Papa Gino’s also in Danvers. The man who answered the phone claimed he did not know where Liberty St. is and they don’t deliver there(so how did this guy know he didn’t deliver there if he didn’t know where it was?) Duh, got a GPS? Totally lazy and unhelpful. Tell them that we have options when it comes to pizza.

It’s really a shame because I love the pizza, but the service is just horrible. On two separate occasions I called in an order and was basically forgotten about. First time I called back and was told it was on its way. A half hour later called again and they say they never receive my order. Funny because the first time I called I was told it was on the way… when the order actually got here they actually forgot the drinks. Second time was a similar situation except I had to cancel the order and will not be back.

So inconsistent with their Pizza, as a family we have been eating Papa Gino’s since we were kids but the Danvers location consistently delivers bad pizza. This past Saturday night we got a visible burnt dry pizza. How did the manager even okay the pizza to be put in a box? If you call as we have in the past they will credit you a pizza but a credit is not what we are looking for just a good pizza. Its what we are paying for

I loved Papa Gino’s as a kid and thought it would be great to return. The food was terrible though, the toppings slid right off the soggy pizza that we waited over 40 minutes for. It literally looked like they poured a small cup of water on the pizza. The staff which consisted of mostly teenage kids was really rude about the whole thing too. I would highly recommend not going.

Papa Gino’s has good pizza, but the service here is hit or miss. We made an online order which resulted in finding out our pizza was misdelivered. Another time I called in and the person taking my order had me repeat my name, address, phone number and order several times. It was quite the hassel when I just wanted a simple pizza. Maybe just bad luck on my part?

My boyfriend and I decided to go there last night because we really love their pizza. I had never gone to this particular one before, but I expected average service, ya know good pizza and people who atleast pretend to care about their customers. As my boyfriend and I entered the door, an employee outside the door was smoking and complaining loudly enough for customers to hear about a guy that owed him money and that the guy better give him his money. Kind of unprofessional. Walked in the door and it was just awful. The tall older man with gray hair and glasses from the 80’s didn’t greet anyone who entered and even as he took my order he still didn’t say a word! I had walked away and had forgotten to sign for my pizza and instead of saying, «Miss you forgot to sign for you pizza’, still nothing. Such awful, weird and poor service. I’ve worked in food service for 8 years, I know how much customers can suck. I know working at a pizza place wasn’t probably their first choice, but hey it’s your job. Customers enjoy a friendly atmosphere. Everyone looked absolutely miserable. They’re the kind of group that deserve to have someone call in for 40 pizzas and after they’re made, no one shows up for them. Just glad I got my pizza fix.

What a horrible dining experience. From the moment I called to place my take out order. The rude male voice on the other end of the phone barked out, Take out or delivery.”.Hold a minute”. Four minutes later I finally hung up and re-dialed. Getting the same rude voice telling me to hold again… I said I’ve been on hold for almost five minutes. No excuse or apologies, I found myself back on hold. This BTW was a Tuesday night around 8:00 o’clock, which I didn’t thing would be a busy time for a pizza place. I placed my order for two ex-large cheese and was told 20 minutes. I arrived exactly 20 minutes later and found only one other customer in the place. I paid for my pies and was told they would out in a few minutes. I sat at a table to wait for my food and was shocked to see how dirty the restaurant was. Dirty floors and walls, the chairs and tables look like they haven’t had a good cleaning in a long time. Dirty windows and doors and dust on the ceiling tiles. If I hadn’t already paid, I think I would have left. After waiting ten painful minutes my food finally arrived. Why did they tell me 20 minutes when it took 30 minutes to make my pizza? I feel bad for the staff that work there, they looked miserable. I guess working in an environment can take toll on you. I spotted the miserable manager who I believe answered the phone, he reminded me of the«Soup Nazi» from Seinfeld. After all this, how was our pizza??? Lousy!!! Dry, over cooked and bland. I will never go back to that location again. I like Papa Gino’s and the locations in Beverly and Gloucester are nothing like this dump.

Food’s good, but they need to try harder to look at the slip to make sure they’re bringing your WHOLE order out to you. The last two times I’ve been here, some brought our food out and I had to point out to them that they only had half of the order.

The restaurant is ugly, in a less-than-ideal location, and they won’t deliver very far, but the pizza is still just as good as it ever was. We go here 2 – 3 times per year and its consistently great. Don’t get anything besides the pizza and breadsticks though — you’ve been warned.

I grew up on Papa Gino’s. I go there occassionally as an adult. Most times I am happy with Papa Gino’s, but not today. I ordered a number 2(2 slices of pepperoni) and soda, and got my son the kids pepperoni meal. It said it came with a beverage, fun activity and dessert. It was a busy night, so some of the employees were running food out to the tables. A girl showed up at my table with 3 slices of pepperoni pizza on 1 tray. I kind of looked at her like hello, what is my son supposed to eat off of? I asked her, «Doesn’t the kids meal come with a dessert?» She said she didn’t know. Then she said, let me take your order back so I can get it right. All I could think of was my pizza is getting cold as we have this stupid conversation! I told her the order was right, minus the dessert. She said let me go get the dessert and never came back. I had to pull the extra paper under the pizza out to use as a plate for my son. Oh and not sure what the fun activity was supposed to be, but never got it. I have been to other Papa Gino’s and they usually give the kids some sort of coloring page or something and a cookie. This Papa Gino’s offers a Hoodsie, which I had to go and ask for. Now, I must comment on the actual pizza. Subpar! I know this is a franchise, but I have always liked Papa Gino’s pizza. Something yummy and nostalgic about it! But not tonight. The sauce was missing something, I added a lot of salt and pepper, which I never usually do and shouldn’t have to do. And it seemed saucier than usual. Not to mention the table we sat at was dirty. Very disappointed this time! And to think I was debating between Papa Gino’s and a downtown Danvers pizzeria tonight. I should’ve went with my gut and gotten the downtown Danvers pizza! 2 cheese pizzas for 10.99! Instead I spent $ 10 at PG’s and had a crappy experience!

I like Papa Gino’s, but they won’t deliver to my house… that is 2.25 miles away from their store… Sorry Papa, you won’t come to me, I sure as hell am not coming to you.

I remember going here when I was little — there was a mystique to it when you’re 5; the hand painted(at least I thought) walls, the pac man sit down game, the pizza, the juke box… now as an adult, we’ll occasionally order out from here, but its been getting worse and worse and more and more expensive. The quality of the pizza seems to depend on who is working that night. And last time it took over 30 minutes to do 2 pizzas for a pickup order, and they still didn’t taste quite cooked through… I’ll give it one more chance I’m sure, but the quality has gone downhill since I was little.
