I really had high hopes but was pretty unimpressed. Made a reservation… seated promptly but service was very lacking. Often times 10 minutes or better between seeing server. Ordered appetizers & a main course. Appetizers were underwhelming(bacon wrapped shrimp, deviled eggs & artichoke dip). Had seared ahi tuna for main course. Was overdone and just not very tasteful. Hate to be so harsh but when charging prices matched with much better restaurants you have to step it up.

If there was a 6 star option… I would have given this place 6 stars! In town from New York and the food is as good or better than any restaurant in the city! Charming waitress. The tomato celery bisque is light and heavenly and comes with tasty seasoned crackers. The stuffed pork chop stuffed with goat cheese, dried cranberries and raisins is to die for. The two female chefs really deliver on flavor and presentation. Also, half off bottles of wine! Make time to come and visit Cue on Main! Our waitress told us that the establishment was the oldest pool hall in Danville and when they took over the decided to keep the essence of the pool hall and reflected that in the name. Take the time to come have dinner here!

While ecstatically pleasing, and with the subtle and gentle sound of a piano playing in the background, there wasn’t much to take away the boredom experienced while waiting an hour for our food. A red flag from the get-go, standing awkwardly between tables right in front of the entrance as we counted away the minutes as waitress after waitress after manager approached us to inform that it would still be a bit longer before we we’re able to be seated. Settling through the anticipation of finally being able to take a seat, we promptly ordered our drinks and food. Two waters, one Pepsi, the makers Mark burger, the sirloin Oscar, a small garden salad, and a side of asparagus. The food was mediocre, Applebee’s quality in an old-fashioned, wooden bar. Now I’m not one to tip my hat or hold my pinky in the air, but honestly it wasn’t anything special. Conversation ranged between myself and my beautiful girlfriend on how much longer it could be, and how good a double cheeseburger from McDonald’s would taste, at least with McDonald’s we would’ve known how long it would take to get our food. Needless to say our 2 ½ hour experience will not be repeated, as we will not be dining at this establishment again. Good try Danville, keep up the sub-par effort!

I had dinner at Cue on Main midst running the Bourbon Chase Relay through Kentucky last weekend. Upon entering, we were greeted, and seated promptly, in the rather lack-luster dining room. We then waited at least 15 minutes to put in our order and we had to call our waitress over to get our order put in. This did not go over well with 6 hungry runners. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken with mashed potatoes. The waitress asked if I wanted one or two pieces of chicken, assuming it was a full size chicken breast I said one…(I should have said two). The chicken was a small/regular portion size, for someone that does not want to overeat. Under normal circumstances, this would have been perfect for me, but I was in running mode, and needed a solid base before hitting the road again. The mash potatoes were kind of bland, and my meal came with a pretty boring salad. Everyone at the table had comparable quality meals. I guess I shouldn’t have expected too much with the low menu prices.

Unilocal to the rescue. Not much in Danville except for Cue. Best way to describe it is a casual restaurant in an upscale setting. Menu isn’t extensive but every thing is good. Take advantage of the bar. We had Beef Medallions, Stuffed Pork Chop for entrees. Brussels Sprout and Mashed Potato sides were awesome. Shared the Bread Pudding for dessert. Be sure to get that –it’s topped with Makers Mark Bourbon. Live music on Saturdays. Service great and prices good.

Danville’s finest. This is a charming spot in a cozy historic college town serving regional cuisine in an authentic Kentucky style. Not one, but two apps with pimento cheese. Check. Hot Brown. Check. Nice bourbon list with Mint Juleps and Old-fashioneds featured. Check. Grits, BBQ, fried chicken — what more could you want? Well, you could serve it all up in a friendly, like-you’re-family manner to live piano music and fresh flowers in silver-plated coffee urns recalling a Derby party or Southern bridal shower. Loved every moment and bite of our experience from the baked pimento cheese to the stuffed pork chop. Wish Danville had more like Cue and Jane Barleycorn.

Very good fresh food. We had burgers and chicken salad and everything was great! For dessert we had the bread pudding and the brownie pie… outstanding!

I was very impressed with this place. It;s like a family diner(great service and low prices) disguised as a fancy 5-star restaurant(great atmosphere and food). I was served by Tiffany B. and she(along with all the other staff) was a delight. I was very satisfied with the service here. I order the fried catfish. The bread and salad they bring out was pretty great. The salad was fresh, and the bread wasn’t your typical diner bread. This bread was fancy. I’m not sure how to explain it(Tiffany did but I didn’t pay close enough attention apparently) but it’s pretty darn amazing. The entrée was delicious. I had a solid dinner for $ 17.84(which includes my generous tip for the fantastic experience). Keep in mind, I had one of the more expensive options. You can easy get a 5-star quality meal(no dress code required) for under $ 15 after tip. I highly recommend this place. It’s located in the heart of the beautiful downtown area of Danville. Don’t delay, come here today!

Visitors and people of Danville — Go to Cue I saw a recent review that said Cue was pricey. It is not any more expensive than the chain places in town and you will have a much better meal and definitely better service. Went back to Cue for a late lunch yesterday and had the Carolina Pork BBQ sandwich with the house made chips. Thanks for serving BBQ on a baguette instead of a regular bun so that I could actually pick it up and eat it without all my BBQ falling out! The apple in the BBQ sauce gave it an extra sweetness that I really liked. To my delight, I got a deviled egg with my sandwich, which was a welcome change to the standard pickle. Nothing against pickles — but a nice change. Looking forward to a return trip to try Beef Medallion and Scallop entrees as well as the cheese grits and beets side dishes. Jerry(owner) is just the nicest guy and will take the time out to chat and give you the low down on what events are happening in and around Danville. Best wishes for continued success. See you next time around.

A special gem in downtown Danville for a fabulous experience. The soups were flavorful and filling. The chicken and rice soup had nice size pieces of chicken and just the right amount of rice. The tomato celery soup was creamy and delicious. A good choice of meal sized salads, burgers and sandwiches that were fresh and nicely prepared. We couldn’t resist the desert menu and 4 of us shared a Salt Caramel Sundae(amazing) and the apple crisp that was perfectly prepared. Our server Denise was friendly, professional and very responsive.

Unilocal is a «must» traveling companion of ours and it’s exactly how we found«Cue on Main.» We often try to find out-of-the-way places on our travels, but judging by the few reviews, people are missing the ‘cue’ to visit Cue on Main.(By the way, Cue on Main is not necessarily off the beaten path, it simply was not a planned part of our itinerary until we found the reviews.) Set in a remodeled old pool hall(check out some of the old photos on the wall at the back of the dining room when you visit), Cue serves what they call«traditional» food in an upscale setting. Traditional — yes. Upscale — yes. Plating, especially dinner is beautiful; lunch-adequate. The setting is beautifully remodeled with salvaged, repurposed barn-wood floors(check my pic) and wood ‘everything’ fills the available spaces. Really nicely finished and furnished. For lunch — Chicken Salad on Whole Grain Bread, Herbed Tomato Soup, Seasoned Crackers(a nice change from Garlic Bread or Tortilla Chips that are pervasive in so many other restaurants.) Great lunch and great price. Sausage & Cheddar Quiche, Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette, Fresh Fruit Cup with Melon, Pineapple, Grapes, & Blueberries — nicely balanced preparation — sweet, savory, pleasant portion. Pretty standard quiche that I might have liked with a bit more seasoning(not salt… herbs to compliment the sausage). All-in-all a solid lunch offering. Staff — couldn’t say enough nice things about how we were greeted, served, and treated. Top-notch hosts who took time to answer our questions about the history and how the building was brought back to life in its current state. Thanks, Cue Crew! You and your establishment are polished gems waiting to be discovered!

Visiting Danville for the first time in around 5 years and remembering that dining experience, imagine my delight to find this little gem. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food mouth watering, with the pork chop especially delicious. My weakness for bread pudding was indeed satisfied, although I preferred mine with ice cream rather than the blob of cream they serve, which of course is how I ate it.

This was the first restaurant my husband and I ate at when we were thinking about moving to Danville. The food was very good, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff was very kind and great service. I would recommend it!

Ordered a whiskey I hadn’t heard of and it was very good. It was called Town Branch. Think I will have another. For appetizer we tried the buffalo chicken dip which was just ok. Regular tortilla chips and nothing too fancy. The entrees were the biggest disappointment. I had the prime rib pasta that was penne noodles that were overly firm and clumped together. The noodles were tipped with sliced beef, peppers, and sour cream. Had a good flavor but as it was not hot and the pasta was so stuck together it seemed it had been sitting out for a while. I still ate it. My wife had the stuffed pork chop which she said had good flavor but was very overcooked and dry. She couldn’t finish it. Our daughter ordered the pecan encrusted chicken which was breaded and fried and topped with sweet pineapple chutney. It didn’t help that they mesas up the order with canned green beans instead of the potatoes she ordered. The atmosphere was nice and staff were very pleasant. Not a lot of other alternatives here, so still a good choice. Maybe other menu options would have been better.

This restaurant was exactly what I was looking for. I ordered the Turkey Avocado on a croissant, to go. Every bite, down to the deviled egg and house chips was delicious. Denise was my server, we spoke like old friends. I believe in diversity, so I was pleased to speak to the African Amercian-female chef. My meal was fresh and carefully prepared by Denise. Denise also knew American Sign Language. I’m not hard of hearing, but diversity is paramount. Especially in a small town. I’ll be a regular.

Not good, how do you undercook pasta. Brutal. Although the staff was courteous and they did take the meal off my bill, I found it frustrating that after being sat and getting my appetizer the hostess brought me a to-go box for my delicious fries green tomatoes, she asked if I was waiting for something. Hmmmm, first clue the waitress didn’t put my order in. I’m only assuming that the pasta was under Cooked because they were rushing to get it out to me. Who knows. I have been in town now twice recently hoping to get a decent meal and at this point I think McDonald’s might be my best bet.

I’ve been to Cue On Main three times now and every time the entire experience is wonderful. There is a large table up front and then the bar, and espresso bar. Most seating is in the back, lights are dim, and the everything seems to whisper, «stay a while.» You can hang your coat in the front, then grab a seat at the bar or be seated to dine. People there are always friendly, and if we lived closer to Danville, we’d be regulars! The owner always recognizes us when we come, and is very personable. As for the food, I’ve had the Buffalo Cheese Ravioli, and I highly recommend it. It was rich and fulfilling. I’ve also had all of the appetizers, a favorite is the torte with baguettes. The rib-eye pasta was also delicious. Proportions are large, and I often split an appetizer and meal with my fiancé, which makes it less expensive for the two of us. An appetizer, salad, meal, and two cocktails totaled about $ 40 – 50. Cue is somewhat expensive for the average person, but I for one, was absolutely delighted to find such fine dining in a small town in Kentucky. The price is absolutely worth the quality food and atmosphere provided.
