I really really want to patronize this business I would really love to see businesses in Blackhawk Plaza do well but every time I’m in there I’m always amazed at how horrible the service is you would think the blonde woman would be dying for your business they could absolutely care less if you buy anything and if you need help they never seem to know anything if you have a question.
Every time I’m in there there’s always other people in the store unlike the other businesses in the plaza this place really should be a gold mine!
Not knocking them, I really hope the management sees that and changes.

I’ve spent close to $ 1000 over several years here. Most of the staff are nice and helpful. There is one guy that is not and likely bitter about working there. Keep in mind it is a family owned business so I assume that is why he works there. He is rude, condescending, and did I say rude? In a toy store… with children… really? I normally would not stop shopping at a store over one bad seed but again, after spending a s**tload here, I believe I deserve better. Believe me when i say it wasn’t the first time but I kept coming back. I always want to support local as well but I got better service at Toys r Us. I suggest taking your money to The Learning Express closer to the freeway in San Ramon.

I love this little toy store. The store isn’t that big but they have a great selection of quality products. They also carry unique toys that you may only be able to get online otherwise. I’ll definitely be back!

What a great toy store. This place has unique and quality type toys. I also see a really good amount of educational type toys as well. The store is quaint but they make all the items standout in a very organized fashion. They always have toys out that kids can play with and the staff is very kid friendly as well as the owners. I find the location very convenient and there is less congestion compared to a larger retail store.

Great, great, great store. Lots of great home accents with an AMAZING toy store. They stock toys that are difficult to find elsewhere. I would give five starts if it weren’t for their strict return policy. Policy is 15 days with store credit only. I’m not sure how stores with such policies compete, but I do hope that GR Doodlebug stays around for a while.

It’s cute. Has a decent selection, but it is much smaller than Games Unlimited. The train table is nice for the kids to play on a bit.
Service is decent and they don’t seem to mind if our kids play and we don’t buy anything (I broke down and bought something last time because I felt bad about this!). They offer free wrapping, a nice touch.

I’m always about supporting local business, even if it means that you pay a little more than online. I love this cute little toy store. As you enter they have a great train table set up for the children to play with. They also have a great selection of higher end products (not those typical plastic toys you can get at Target). My son always loves coming here and I always find great toys or gifts.

I wanted a certain toy for DGD the youngers B Day… and I had been on Amazon… but I could not get free shipping… one call here and I had the toy, beautifully gift wrapped… shop local!

Since my last review I was contacted by the owner and offered a gift cert. for my previous experience. Today I got excellent service and was in and out in no time. Glad to hear my previous experience may have been a fluke. Hubby and I were both left to scratch our heads when we noticed that sale items weren’t eligible for complimentary gift-wrap. Seems like the service should be available to all. This wasn’t an issue for us, however, since we were getting things for DD, just an FYI.
