Good beer, hunky doctor hangout… however, taco chips served with every meal, including with hummus(!)and no one knows why, it just is! Get a new chef and invest in the food public who wants better with their beer! PLEASE!

My fiancée and I had a wonderful experience here. Though the host had the personality of a brick wall & we had to wait for about 10 minutes to be acknowledged, the server(Chris), food & beer turned this place around to deserve five stars. Chris apologized and noted he had gone to the wrong table. We then each tried two bears. I had the Over & she had the Blonde. Both were great. Chris filled us in with great answers to our questions. We had the soft pretzel appetizer — one of the best soft pretzels we’ve ever had — and each got our own personalized burgers, with side salads. All spectacular.

We’ve visited Old Forge many times over the years. We’re generally big fans of the place. The beer is great, and mostly consistent between visits.(I’ve had the Celestial Blond, and the Overbite IPA. Both were quite good.) My only issue(and the reason for only 4 stars) is because of the inconsistency with the food between visits. I’m guessing the quality of what you are served is dependent on who is in the kitchen. I’ve been there for many lunches, and have never had a complaint. The food has always been quite tasty.(I’ve ordered their Cuban and Pulled Pork sandwiches, and both were excellent.) However, dinner has been inconsistent. Sometimes my sandwiches were quite tasty, and other times, the flavors were just«blah». Perhaps they were just busy? Not sure. Regardless, in my opinion, this should not keep you from visiting Old Forge. The beer alone is worth a visit, the atmosphere is good, and, at least most of the time, the food has been good. The servers have always been friendly with us.

This is my third or fourth visit, but first review. We went here for a work holiday luncheon. Atmosphere is welcoming and laid back. We had the potochos buffalo style and an order of pretzels for an app. There were 5 of us. As far as the main course, I had the Cuban. Wow. This thing was bangin’, flavor was spot on. Sandwich was not lacking in any way. I was full to the gills. Love the chips and the cheese as an alternative to chips and fries. Their beer cheese is done right. I caught myself dipping my sandwich in it. Lol. Will be back for sure.

Good place to meet when all our friends are In town for the holidays. The beer is great, the food not so much. Service is causal and comfortable, but seems to change. Wish they had more fish dishes.

Decent food, but nothing that really wowed me. Not great, not terrible. A little on the pricey side though.

Took a break from our travels across I80. Great place, located on the Main Street(Mill St) in Danville. We started with a flight of 4 beers, Slack Tub Stout, whitesmith IPA, Bellows Brown Ale, and Plowshare porter. All were excellent, with unique approaches to each style and well balanced. If the beer isn’t enough of a reason to stop by, the food puts it over the top. We enjoyed Crab Cakes, with Shrimp used as filler, and the Bangers and Mash, infused with Beer. Both were well prepared, flavorful and delicious. A wide variety was provided on the menu. There is something for everyone here. The service was very good, and the atmosphere highlighted with local artists flare. Take the 4 mile trip off the interstate and enjoy some central PASUPERBTASTES!!!

Great first time experience! Friendly staff, good food and service. The pub pretzel with cheese dip is the BEST! Looking forward to many more visits.

Their locally brewed Hefeweizen was so delicious I will miss it when I am gone! I ate the crab cakes, which were also excellent, including the accompanying vegetables — the broccoli was plain, simple and perfectly cooked! I don’t even like tartar sauce and I ate the whole thing too.

Two floors of modern, clean, woody space. Full lunch and dinner menu — large with good variety. Pretzels were great, sandwiches looked decent. Perhaps a little underwhelming for food and not so cheap. Can do a flight of the beers they have on tap. I think it was $ 8 for 7 beer flight, which is very good. However, most of the beers had some off-flavors such as oversteeped grain tannic and had thin, over-attenuated bodies. One or two were enjoyable. Service was quite slow and not used to a large group, which is understandable.

Amazing soft pretzels, the group order comes with 3 large pretzels and 3 sauces. Probably the best honey mustard dipping sauce of my life. Recommend the curry cauliflower soup as well. All around good food, friendly staff, and great beers.

First time here. Great food, burgers are well cooked. All burgers come on a pretzel bun but they have GF option as well. Service was a little slow even though the place was not that busy. We would come back next time we are here for a Knoebels weekend. Would want to see them do better with paying attention to customers though. That would earn 5 stars in my book.

Beer. These people know what they’re doing. Had dinner and BEERS here recently. I can’t remember which beers I had, but what I did sample was delicious. You can tell the brewers are serious about their craft. Excellent service, too, you can tell a place is good if their employees look genuinely happy.

This place can be frustrating. The portions are large, the waitstaff is nice, but the service is slow and the food is mediocre to good, at best. The chips served with everything are nothing special. It can take a long while to get something as simple as a sandwich, which can be very frustrating, especially if you’re there with children. It’s fine if you want to stay in Danville and don’t want to to travel to eat.

Service at bar is fine but beer is still just«ok». Having 4 different types,(no Ipa on tap) Bitter has a nice beginning but odd watery bland finish as does the pale ale & Slightly Rood. Cherrywood smoked porter is VERY smokey. Not eating food but I hear other people here at the bar recommending another brewery to eat at.

Great Atmosphere… I was there several years ago and the expansion to the dining area was awesome. I ate their during bacon week and the food was delicious. I had the bacon keg, bacon cheeseburger soup and bacon baguettes. I highly recommend this place if you are in the Danville Area.

The Old Forge is my staple for a cold brew and good meal every time I’m in Danville(which is surprisingly often). I’ve had almost everything on the food menu, and it’s all been good. My personal favorites are the ribeye or the classic burger. The beers are brewed on site, and my go to is the Overbite IPA. Can’t go wrong here.

Although I don’t drink beer, there is multiple choices to chose from. The food is great, the pretzels, oh the pretzels, the best I have ever had, if you go, you must not leave without having at least one pretzel. Everyone has a big brights smile, it is family friendly. It is just a fun time in general! Would recommend if you are in the area.

For anyone that is in Danville and wants to go out and enjoy some different beers Old Forge is the place to go. I enjoy going here when I just want to enjoy some beers with friends and don’t plan on getting to crazy. They have this awesome deal where you can get four little five ounce beers for $ 5 if you want to try different beers. Each night they have 16 beers available so it’s not always easy to make a choice. My favorite is Saison because of the summer vibe this beer has. Celestial blonde is also a great beer I recommend. My only negative about this place is the music, sometimes the music is so loud you literally can’t talk to the waiter or waitress, so when my friends and I go here and the music starts playing we leave because there is simply no point in staying and trying to talk. Trying beers is a hobby of mine and I truly love trying different and exotic beers which is why I do really enjoy coming here.

1. Kat behind the bar is great 2. Blue Jerk burger is excellent, burn a quarter to add crumbled blue cheese to kick up the«dressing» 3. 2 different craft brown ales, seriously? Both exceptional 4. Thought there was a mistake on the bill, nope! It’s just that great a value!

We found this place by using the Unilocal app. Nice inside and for a Saturday lunch it was busy but we sat quickly. My friend ordered a sandwich and when she asked if she could get fries the waiter responded«we don’t serve fries, we re trying to be healthy». It seemed off since this place is full of non healthy food and instead of fries they serve nachos and cheese hahahah! The food was overall good. We’d go back if we are ever in Danville again. Especially since they are so healthy
