We are so lucky to start pretty much at their opening at this Danville location. My son, 5yr old is shy and reserved but Alex, Tracy and Gary are all incredibly supportive, and now he enjoys it so much. We do one kick boxing and one Jijitsu class each week. Gary teaches the kick boxing and is a such patient teacher full of warm energy. The Jijitsu classes are normally taught by all three teachers, which is so nice that every kid gets attention. The other parents are very nice and friendly too. We are very happy here.

We have been going to Warrior JJ since fall of 2015 and love this place so much we have referred many friends in full confidence. Tracy, Alex and Gary are amazing and each bring a unique addition to this place that enrich the experience of the students. They are masters in defense pulling the best techniques from various martial art disciplines to make it practical self-defense(vs just karate or martial arts). They are fun to learn from by keeping it interesting and motivate without using intimidation. My 10 year old daughter(who historically never liked karate) is on the timid/gentle side and loves going to the kickboxing class. Gary has worked with her on fun, stress relieving self-defense techniques. It“s only been 6 mos and I’m starting to see the strength build up in her small framed body along with the confidence build up in her spirit. My 6 yr old son takes JJ with all three teachers, as well as kick boxing with Gary. They are all so patient with the 6 year old challenged attention span keeping it fun and moving. My son too has progressed immensely from this one on one attention and enjoys it. This Warrior JJ team encourages and inspires self-growth & discipline. They command respect by giving it to those of all ages. They are attentive to each child tailoring training to individual learning needs and go the extra mile to build the child’s physical and mental skills. They encourage the students to push themselves and each other. I even started training in kickboxing myself and am considering their women’s self-defense class sometime in the future. Their prices are reasonable and the flexibility in the scheduling and payment plans are so stress free – no contracts/hassles or hidden fees. That makes it so easy. Overall, we feel so fortunate to have stumbled onto this place and be welcomed into the Warrior JJ Family. Thank you guys(and gal) for being so awesome at what you do!

I have been training Jiu-Jitsu for 5 years and in that time period have experienced several different instructors. Alex’s teaching style is on another level. The amount of detail he puts into explaining the technique is rare; not only does he explain all the steps in a technique, but he also explains why you need to do it this way and shows all the different scenarios that could happen based on how your opponent reacts. Alex is at the academy every day training with his students or watching and coaching them during the roll. You won’t find him on his phone while he’s supposed to be teaching class.

I’m a newbie to Jiu Jitsu who just joined Warrior BJJ last month. Highly impressed with Alex and his team. Not only have they been very welcoming to me, but within a short period of time I feel like I’ve already learned a ton. Alex teaches all levels and all ages. He’s very involved and committed to the improvement of all his students, and from what I hear has an excellent reputation within the BJJ community. I highly encourage people to try BJJ out, and there’s no better place to do so than at Warrior BJJ. As soon as my kids are old enough, I plan to enroll them too. The concepts taught in BJJ can be applied in all aspects of life — great way to learn how to defend yourself, teach respect and humility, build character, while also being one heck of a workout, and an overall fun experience. Every day after class I leave feeling like I just got hit by a truck — but I can’t wait to get back for more. Thanks Alex!

Warrior bjj academy has been my home on the mats for the last few months. The gym is located on the second floor of crossfit danville. As you walk up the stairs and into the mat area you’ll always receive a friendly greeting from Alex and the rest of the team. The facility is very clean and there is plenty of mat space. Alex is a great instructor and gives great detail and explanation when going over techniques. There is good mix of upper belts and lower belts to train with. What I really like though is that every one there is very helpful and friendly no egos, but don’t get me wrong they’re not playing patty cake. There are plenty of sharks on the mat to push you to the next level. If you want solid training for fun or competition warrior bjj academy is where it’s at.

Warrior is the place to be if you want quality jiujitsu taught correctly that works. I have been training for over 3 years under Alex. I am an old guy and these guys work with all ages and body styles. I have recently gotten my wife to start training. She had major surgery last year and has not been physically active for over a year. She was worried about further injuring herself after her surgery, but that has not been the case. She loves jiujitsu. All in all the attention to detail and time the coaches give each student is worth it. They modify they’re training and teaching methods to everyone’s learning curve. There are a lot of students here that have silver and gold medals in major tournaments through out CA. and that says a lot about Alex and the rest of the coaching staff at Warrior.

I’m new to BJJ and this placed welcomed me with open arms. They are very welcoming and excited to teach and share their knowledge of the Jiu jitsu lifestyle. They are extremely flexible with scheduling due to my hectic work schedule. Alex is a great teacher and his calm demeanor and friendly attitude makes for a great learning environment. The higher belts and other instructors are all extremely friendly and patient and willing to share and guide with the training. It is not just a workout. It feels like friends and family growing and training together. I love this place

I didn’t know what to expect when I brought my sons here to give jiu jitsu a try. Frankly, my hopes were not high given their lack luster responses to Tae Kwon Do and Karate in the past. But after their first week — they were hooked! Coaches Alex, Tracy and Gary are a great team and they are what makes this place truly special. Each of them are dedicated to making sure the kids are learning, encouraged, challenged and safe. The kids get a good warm up/work out, focused lessons on technique and then a chance to spar. I am watching my boys become stronger, more agile, confident… But best of all, they enjoy it. Sometimes they go in with pent up frustration and this has been a great way for them to release it — in a healthy way. You have different pay options(per class or monthly options based on how often you plan to go). If you pay monthly, you have to give advanced notice(4 weeks, I think) if you need to cancel. There is a sibling/family discount($ 10 off for each additional member). You can buy/order the uniforms(gi) and other Warrior attire there. Tracy is very approachable and helpful with everything!

I had to move out of Pleasanton recently and this is one place I will miss in the Tri-Valley. Instructors are legit, talented and accommodating. The academy and its students have a sense of community which was helpful to me, being I was new to California(and jiu jitsu) when I first trained with them. Highly recommended!

After researching different studios on Unilocal and online. I decided to give this one a try. I signed up my daughter in kickboxing and she absolutely loves it ! She looks forward to every class. Her instructor Gary is awesome and is great with the kids. I definitely recommend Warrior BJJ especially the kickboxing class to everyone !

This is a review of Warrior BJJ kids program: I looked at a lot of local schools for my 7 year old daughter to start BJJ. I don’t think anyone can do better than Eduardo Rocha’s school in Oakland, but if you live in the Danville-San Ramon area, that’s a 30 – 40 min drive(one way!). So I needed a good local option. One was just a mess, another was very corporate and professional, but too serious for young kids(some instructors don’t understand that not every kid will go on to be a serious competitor, and you need FUN to hook young kids). My daughter found it boring. Another had instructors with impressive tournament records, but winning tournaments does not mean you know how to teach to children. Kids are a different animal. I visited a school in Danville that WAS a lot of fun(the warmup included creative circuits with balancing, jumping, etc. and class ended with a dodgeball fight). I almost pulled the trigger on that one because my kid loved it, and I liked the creative cross-training she was getting. But to me there was little quality instruction, and the instructors threw my daughter into sparring without even instruction on how to tap out, so safety was a concern. One thing I would like to see, but have only seen one school do, is a systematic way to introduce new kids into the curriculum. Warrior Jiu Jitsu in Danville seems to strike a good balance. In fact, in my opinion it’s the best in the area. It’s clean, easy to get to, and the instruction is very good. The instructors are welcoming. In addition the pricing is very competitive. The school is in its infancy, but I imagine that word will get out quick that this is the place to be.

I am an instructor and I have trained with and competed alongside the Guerreros for years. They are great people, technical instructors, and Joe has that spark that distinguishes him from most competitors. Bring your family to Big Alex and let him work his magic, you will see results and have fun along the way!

Just started training here. Best academy that I have trained at so far. Very clean environment, and all the people that train here are very welcoming. The instructor Alex has a lot of knowledge relating towards Jiu Jitsu, and really cares about each student’s growth. A great place to get in shape, and make some good quality friends.

I’ve been training in jiu-jitsu since 1994. I love the finess about the art and that it keeps me in shape physically and mentally. Alex taught for Ralph Gracie down the street from my work so I attended his morning classes. In my opinion he’s the best teacher in the Tri-Valley. He is extremely technical, has deep insight into the art, and takes his time explaining details making sure students understand the moves well. Very few instructors give their time like Alex does. This is important to progress. He received his black belt from Ralph which is no easy task, all Ralph’s black belts are legit. I’m looking forward to seeing this school grow, develop, and up the level of jiu-jitsu in the Bay Area. If you’re looking for a school for yourself or your children, before signing up anywhere else take some introductory classes at . You won’t be disappointed!

Myself and my 2 boys(ages 9&10) attend Warrior Jiu Jitsu. The welcoming team makes learning bjj fun and easy by adapting to our varying skill sets. Our boys look forward to class everyday. It has been a tremendous positive impact on our entire family. Not only are we learning valuable self defense, we are contributing to our health and fitness, and bonding as a family. Warrior jiu jitsu has truly become our second family! I highly recommend it.
