I didn’t anticipate ever writing a review for a library, but this one is staggeringly good. I spent some time in Darien, and was looking for a place to work that wasn’t as loud as the local Starbucks. This was a great surprise. It shows the true evolution of the use of the library. It is a genuine community space, with stairs right at the front, making it easy to move from level to level. There are a million places to find a comfortable seat, a lot tables to do work at. While I only looked at a few books, they look to be in great shape and in good order. Usually, these days libraries are seldom used and are a relic of the past. This wonderful space is full of patrons, but roomy, and it is obvious why so many people use it. If I were incredibly rich and had the means to build a library for a town, I would buy the plans for this one. It’s perfect. It is as good or better than most college libraries, which is really saying something.
