Rude and condescending. Every time I leave this store I feel like screaming. I dont expect the red carpet at a UPS store but I also don’t expect insulting behavior and bad attitudes. On each visit I had simple questions that were met with rude and abrupt answers that were not helpful. It really feels like the owners/employees dislike their customers — I specifically had a woman who I think is one of the owners treat me rudely on multiple occasions. I always wonder if I’m shipping in the most efficient and cost effective manner or if they are ripping me off and rushing me out the door. On the final visit she cut me off rudely when I asked a question so I just left. I cannot support people who are so rude. Based on the reviews my experience was not unique. I think this is a franchised business — they are poor stewards of the brand and I think should lose it, please replace these people w more friendly and helpful owners. B

These people are the most miserable people in town. I am not sure if this is a family owned business but they all look unhappy. Every single time I go in that store I feel like I am bothering them. They never smile or say hello. I’m actually nervous when asking where I should put my pre-paid box? Life can not be that bad and if it is… its to short to be working at something your not enjoying!!! Turn that frown upside down.

My regular UPS store had unexpectedly closed so I drove from Stamford to come to this one to do a return. They were rude and unbending with no helpful suggestions when i didn’t have a label. Their only response was to patronizing tell me that they are a middleman and don’t get paid if I buy a print from them. While I’m sure this makes sense to someone in management, I lost 1.5 hours with a commute in the middle of the day and they could have worked with me to let me process the return. I’ve never met a business who seems to hate their business model publicly. Will never go back.

I just shipped a package from here and witnessed an employee quit his job. The employee was helping a customer find her mail while a second customer was filling out a card at the desk. The store owner came out and berated the employee for not helping the customer at the desk. The employee told the customer at the desk he’d be with her in a minute after he helped the first customer. «It’s OK,» she said, «I’m still filling out my card.» The owner yelled at the employee again, then badgered the first customer, saying«You think you’re special? Wait until the mail is sorted like everybody else.» The first customer meekly apologized and left the store. Then, the employee politely asked the store owner if he could speak to him in his office. I heard more yelling from the owner, and the employee came out, shook hands with all of the other employees and told them how much of a pleasure it had been working with them. He then left the store with the owner chasing after him. My one star is a rating of the store, not the employees. To all the remaining employees of The UPS Store Darien, keep your heads above water and thank you for shipping our packages!
