Absolutely stunning sights along this winding and sometimes challenging trail. My 6-year-old completed it with no problems, so I would rate it’s difficulty at «intermediate». It does have numerous«adventures»(as my daughter calls it) along the way. These obstacles range from simple bridges to downed trees, and adventurous climbs. The waterfalls and river views are spectacular. My two complains are: 1. No trail markers along the way, so unless you wear a pedometer, it’s difficult to gauge how far you’ve hiked. 2. The trail head is approximately 3 miles off the main Arlington-Darrington Hwy., down a long gravely road. Prepare for a 20 minute, 10 mph, dusty drive down a bumpy road to get to the trail head. Otherwise, well maintained.

This trail is about 9 miles round trip. I am a fairly healthy girl and was fairly sore afterwards. It has all terrain; rocky, dirt, uphill/downhill, muddy, puddles, brush that you forge through, fallen logs, etc. It’s quite the adventure! It’s not super glamorous like some parks. It’s a lot more natural. As you progress(about an hour and a half in) the paths are still visible but are more obscure with shrubs and such. It’s very peaceful and there are not a ton of people there. So you get a lot of peace and quite. The trail runs back and forth to a river, waterfalls, and rapid like water. It’s pretty serene. The tall double water fall is EVERYTHING! The road leading to the park is full of potholes. Go slow as to not knock yourself around your vehicle. Great hike. Good work out.

Really enjoyed this hike. It’s not very difficult and the scenery is great. The waterfalls are very cool and are early in the hike if you’re not able to do the whole thing. The dirt road leading up is a little long and has a lot of potholes. I wouldn’t recommend this one at busy time either because the parking area is small and oddly shaped.

Hiked this trail 7-26-2014 with a group of friends. We started out at 9:00am and came across very few people on our way up. On our way down we encountered families with small children and their dogs and a couple elderly groups. Love that. Data per our Fit Bit: 9+ miles, 23K+ steps and 2400+ calories burned. Every terrain was encountered on this hike: dry wide/narrow paths, mud, river rock, and bridges. Giant moss-covered trees make great shade from the sun or rains. Twin waterfalls near the beginning of the hike will impress you. The gurgling river sounds will keep you company while pressing on. Trailhead: From I-5take exit 208/Silvana/Arlington and drive east on Hwy 530 for about 19.5 miles. Turn right on French Creek Road(FS2010) ***gravel road that can easily be missed*** Drive 3.8 miles to the end of the road and the trailhead parking lot. Lot is small and was packed when we were leaving. No passes were required at this time but be sure to do your due diligence and check before hiking to avoid any tickets.
