Great prices, fast shipping. Smaller then we hoped they’d be but just as tender and delicious as ever!

Never knew this place existed although have been in the area for almost 20 years. A great place for breakfast. Miser ice is friendly and very hommy place.

My wife and I took a road trip down here to try abalone for the first time. All the staff was super welcoming and friendly. We had a really great experience with a very nice red haired young woman, who showed us what to do. I got to try a fresh abalone, which tasted fantastic. We got excellent, informed cooking suggestions, and they gave us plenty of ice packs and an oxygenated plastic bag for the abalone we took home. Ultimately a great experience: we’ll definitely be back!

What an Abalone farm!!! No more gearing up and getting bashed in the surf zone for one of my favorite foods. We visited AAF after visiting our son at UCSC, on our way to HMB. When we arrived the place was slammed with tourists. No problem, just a short wait. We purchased 4 packs of pre cleaned abalone to take home. You can buy abalone prepared or live. Good and friendly service. Some may feel it a little pricey for what you get, however you need to realize the time and effort it takes to grow these tasty treats. We will be back for sure.

Drove down with my wife and dog(100lb. Akita). on Saturday morning, spent $ 100.00 on 10 medium abs. and $ 23.00 on two big crabs. the crabs were wonderful sweet. the abs looked small after I cleaned them but then I cut each ab in half, about half inch thick, when I got done pounding ended up with 204 – 5 inch steaks of the most succulent delicious abalone. a real treat breaded in panko bread crumbs fried in olive oil fresh local artichokes fresh bread from that little store in pescadero ca.

Someone told me about this abalone farm so I took my family and wanted to make a picnic out of it. We were really surprised to see so many abalone, both fresh and frozen. They were $ 5 for one but if you buy 10, you get one free. We ended up buying 20. The guy who helped us, Chris, was so nice and friendly. The smaller abalone that we purchased were about 3 years old. Chris was kind to take all of them out of their shell, washed each one with a scrub and cut off the heads. We decided to take half home as whole and the other half, we asked him to cut into strips of 4 so that we can eat right away. Chris prepared and packaged them separately. Unfortunately, there was no place to have a picnic(unlike the Oyster farm where we were able to have a bbq/picnic) so we headed down to the Santa Cruz Wharf and a had a little picnic there. We purchased hot clam chowder(it was perfect since it was a gloomy day) and ate our fresh abalone with soy sauce/wasabe(horseradish) like sashimi style. They were so yummy! The smaller ones are usually more tasty than the bigger ones — so soft and tender. We will definitely return not only for the great abalone and the price but for the superb customer service that we received from Chris! Thank you! What a GREAT find.

If you are anywhere near Davenport on a Saturday afternoon, American Abalone is worth a stop. We were completely surprised by what a sizable operation they have going here. Since this was just a spur of the moment stop for us we only bought 4 abalone’s — oh, we should have bought so many more! Four per person, would have been more like it. Fresh and frozen small abalone’s are the same price $ 5. We ended up buying the frozen one’s, they’d just been packed two days before and we thought they’d do better on the car ride home. We were given«The Best Basic Fried Abalone with Lemon-Mayo Sauce» recipe with our purchase. We dethawed the Abalone’s over night, and then tried the recipe out the next day. My oh my, were the lovely! Tender, lemony goodness without any bit of fishy flavor. Excellent recipe, make sure you pick one up. The only change we made was substituting Panko for the Italian breadcrumbs. If you haven’t had Abalone, it’s nothing at all like an oyster — it’s more like a scallop in texture and flavor adaptability. Seafood and non-seafood lovers alike should give it a try. Now we’ll totally make a special trip to Davenport to pick up more. The farm also sells some interesting abalone jewelry if that’s your thing. Oh, and it’s really near Swanton’s U-Pick Berry Farm. We paired the two together for a fun Saturday afternoon adventure.

Well, the abalone is sheer perfection and the drive to Davenport is always a delight. They do ship worldwide, live abalone and fresh frozen. You folks here at Unilocal have the incorrect URL, it is actually and there is a map link on the contact page making it very easy to find. The farm sells on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm — nice day for a drive and lunch out on the coast!

This place is a bit difficult to find, but the exit is just a little opening in between some bushes of some sort with a small sign. If you drive too fast you will miss it. It would also be smart to bring a GPS just in case. Its basically an Abalone farm, they have both retail and wholesale. $ 5 for small ones $ 10 for medium $ 15 for large Large is about half a pound or so. and for the small and medium if you buy 10 u get a free one. Sometimes they have really big ones but thats if your lucky when your there. And one more thing, they are only open on Saturdays from 10−2…so come get your abalones and enjoy… I think they do ship though, o yea and they sell frozen too.
