Everything was very good, from the coffee to the croissants to the beignets. Nice clean breakfast place. Recommended.

Always greeted with a smile. I’ve been to this place five days in a row… Great coffee and beignets! Awesome ladies working there.

This place could be really awesome with a few tweaks to their business model. Here is what Beignet’s does right: They have an excellent downtown location next to River Center and Hotel Blackhawk. Their service was great with very friendly people working on a Sunday morning. This location has plenty of excellent seating and clear easy to read menus. The Beignets are really good! I had Hazelnut coffee with excellent flavor. Now for the areas to improve: You have«Beignet» in your business name– it would be wise to have some in your display case. People don’t even know what they look like until they receive their order. Market the crap out of those! Offer free samples to people going through River Center and get some displayed! Secondly, your coffee is too good to only serve it in Thermoses. Have several brewers on hand and keep your coffee in pots. The coffee loses a lot of temperature in those cheap thermoses. Plus it is hard to monitor how full or empty they are and you keep customers waiting while you brew more. Third, don’t blast rock music on a Sunday morning. Hard to enjoy a cup of coffee and relax. This music doesn’t fit in with the atmosphere. Make those changes and you will see nothing but 4s and 5s on your reviews.

I thought the coffee was good and the service great! The spinach quiche was pretty good as well. Nice, quick stop

Meh. If I could give a 2.5 I would. The coffee didn’t suck, but the dark roast wasn’t dark and it wasn’t all that hot. The beignet was hard and dry. Reading the lunch menu, I wanted to give them a shot for lunch, but ended up walking down the street to Boozie’s. For beignet being their namesake, they should have knocked it out of the park — like Café du Monde mind-blowing. They weren’t *that* bad, but I was hoping to share something special with my wife and my mom. Neither of them have had beignets and probably won’t rush right out to have them again. So much for using Café du Monde as an excuse to go to New Orleans. There is a cool vibe to just sit and hangout. I’d love to just have a cup of coffee and enjoy the time. And the service is pretty slow.

Their beignets are not that good or authentic. Every time I have been there the beignets are raw dough, gooey on the inside. They need to have someone teach them how to make an authentic New Orleans stye beignet, not some freaky, «this is what we were told to do» thingy. Plus, their coffee isn’t that good when you have in house, small batch roasted, hand made coffee right down the street.

We searched for tea shops near our current location and were immediately smitten with the punny name. We had tea, fantastic coffee cake(and an okay scone), and exceptional, friendly service. I would definitely go back if in the area.

Good, fresh food and personal, kind service. They tend to wait until the last order is made before taking the next one., which explains the slowness. I recommended that they read the Unilocal reviews. The coffee is great and the beignets are the best I’ve ever had due to the many textures and yeasty flavor. It’s a great vibe and worth a try.

Way too overpriced for a lukewarm cup of coffee. For the same 3 bucks I can get an individually dripped coffee 2 blocks down the road. Came here today because another place didn’t have a barista. I’m shocked that downtown coffee places charge so much for sub par joe.

No complaints from me! I tried the beignets and a sausage/egg/cheese sandwich on wheat. Yummy. Coffee was good and was all you can drink-unlike Starbucks. I found the counter staff to be friendly — after ordering I sat down in the back to see if they would yell for me or seek me out and they delivered my food to my table with a smile. Nice morning. Will post pix of my food.

Poor quality of product and poor service. It took over 10 minutes to get a latte. Just a simple, no frills latte. The staff was completely unorganized and the barista started on drinks that were ordered after mine, then told me it’d be another FIVE minutes before my drink would be ready. I said I couldn’t wait that long and was about to ask for a refund when he somehow found the time to start on my drink. The drink itself: it was basically slightly warm milk. Zero espresso flavor, no foam or texture, and it was lukewarm. The only defense on behalf of the barista is that it looked and sounded like the steamer was either ancient or very low quality. The only bright side is that the baked egg(ham and Swiss) was pretty tasty… Even though it had cooled off to lukewarm by the time my latte was ready.

Despite some reviews I find if you stick to the beignets and coffee and it’s not busy you will have a good experience. I thought the coffee was superb and the beignet fair to good if you stay away from the ‘bite size’ ones, remember this is a long way from New Orleans. I came back months later… Coffee still good, beignets still good, and I had a breakfast sandwich which is like home made… The staff was very nice and even brought me my to go food while I was distracted typing this update.

We stayed in the hotel where the Beignet Done That was located. We ordered and the man who helped us was the only person working. He let us know that we could order mini beignets, which were 3 normal beignets cut into fourths, for a total of 12. After 20 minutes, we finally got our order. The beignets were sitting in this huge mound of sugar, barely any sugar was on the beignets themself. THEYWEREEXTREMELYSWEET. One beignet could have given our entire group of 3 diabetes. We had split up the beignets so that every person would have 4 beignets, but there were only 11 beignets. So the service and goods were disappointing. I guess you get what you pay for, the food was relatively cheap.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This is one of the most HORRIBLE places I’ve been to. Service quality is non-existent. We were 4th in line and it took 15 minutes to for us to get to order(one customer ordered beignets, another ordered self-serve coffee, and the third ordered soup that wasn’t available). Three employees were huddled over the cash register seemingly learning to use it for the first time. I ordered beignets. That’s it. Nothing else. The girl took my money, didn’t give me my receipt or change and turned away, occupying herself by cleaning the counters of the kitchen. I watched all the employees — none made a move to start frying the beignets. There were 2 baskets in the fryer, one of which currently had some beignets frying(for the previous customer I mentioned above). A guy took the beignets out and sprinkled sugar and poured caramel sauce on it for the customer, then stared at the wall. I made eye contact and asked for my beignets. He turned and pulled some out of their storage unit. The same girl who took my money then made eye contact with me and asked me what I wanted to order — not even recalling that I had ordered through her and she hadn’t even completed the transaction. I said I had ordered beignets and had been waiting for quite some time, to which she replied, «they’re being made.» I told her, «no, they weren’t being made because that guy is just getting it out right now after I asked him to.» 20 minutes after I had ordered, I got the beignets which were rubbery and tasted like plastic — it didn’t qualify as beignets; it didn’t qualify as food. It should be condemned. Too bad I paid cash. If I had used my credit card, I would have put a stop on the payment. I was there for the Bix Beiderbecke festival and had missed a whole set waiting for these yo-yos to try to do a job they’re incapable of. Service and food quality like this would be unheard of at Café du Monde in New Orleans. Stay away from Beignet Done That — don’t waste your time and money here.

I come here quite often. The food is hit and miss, It usually just seems like it depends on what they have available. It’s safe when Molly & Makela(sp?) are there! They are the friendliest and most efficient i’ve noticed! Most of the time when I go in I notice that theres only one person working and there are tons of customers waiting. I feel like the staff there deffinitely needs support; I couldn’t even imagine trying to make coffees and sandwiches at rush hour all by myself with a huge line… & you wonder why people get so angry and rude. I feel so awful for the employees that I don’t want to add to their stress. that I usually leave and come back later when all is calm. The place has sooo much potential! I wish they would take care of their staff and have extra ! But other than that; the food is good and reasonably priced. Especially if you do the make your own sandwich option. I almost feel like it has to be great food, since youre the one picking everything on it!

Bad Service & Inefficiency: Just went to the Beignet Done That and I wasn’t impressed. Even though this weekend was a special one, which introduced thousands of people from the BIX7 road race, the Beignet had some fundamental issues with handling numerous orders. So while I wait in line to order a black coffee I notice the line cooks incredibly messy attempt to make simplistic 3 – 5 ingredient sandwiches. The sandwiches were unappealing and the atmosphere was also tainted by their negatively stressed emotions. After wondering why jimmy johns can make their sandwiches in cleaner and much quicker pace, I finally order my black coffee and white mocha for my wife. Well… Lets just say the specialty drink mixer/maker could make drinks in order if it depended on his life. Anyway, I guess if this particular crew only had one order to make I would have probably given this place a three to four star review. FYI the BiX Bistro located inside the hotel is hands down one of the best restaurants in the QC. Obviously not owned by the same folks!

For a hotel coffee shop and lunch spot extremely nice and reasonably priced. Food not quite as good as Starbucks or some of the local chains if you compare to those though. Great service despite being very busy all the time. The coffee and lattes, etc are always up to high end coffee shop standards. Some good pastries as well as homemade beignets of course. Eat then right away or they are kind of just boring cold fried bread. I actually prefer the cream puffs and other pastries they have.

Very nice coffee shop with a great«visiting» feel attached to the Hotel Blackhawk. With Beignet in the name, it definitely is loaded with carb options. A little rough for my Celiac(Gluten-Free) husband. And, the menu board is a bit tough to read — its crammed with writing and hard to discern the options efficiently.

Was excited that they were actually open on a Sunday. However service terrible and food not much better than McDonalds. Got there at 9 am and they were out of beignets! Also out of most breakfast items. Staff were not apologetic and seemed to not care about being out of signature dishes. Not a good first visit for us. Might try again, but at a different day/time. The hotel was very busy so I would have thought they’d be better prepared for the crowd.
