Outing Club

The Outing Club is a members only private club in Davenport. The membership fee and annual dues are significantly lower than the dues at other clubs in the Quad Cities, but the facilities are still great. The pool was recently expanded and a state-​of-​the-​art gym was constructed in 2012. The gym has ²⁴⁄₇ access, is kept very clean and never has broken equipment. We roll in after work around 5PM and there are normally one or two other people there, if that. We joined for the gym and pool, and it has been worth it. No monthly minimums, but the food is actually pretty good if you’re looking for a nice dinner. Typically have extravagant brunch setup in the upstairs ballroom for holidays. If you’re looking for a CC to golf at this isn’t your place (though they do have two sister clubs that you can golf at), but everything else is on par/​better than the other private clubs in the QC.

So it’s like a country club without the golf? Right. I think. Or at least that’s what I gather. But regardless of its utility as a private club (what DO you do there as a member, exactly?), it IS a gorgeous wedding reception venue. Lovely grounds and dining room, and the food was remarkably good. Definitely a Southern plantation type of feel – you would never guess you were in the Midwest.

The Outing Club is a 120-​year-​old member owned private club. Referred to as the ‘grande dame’ of clubs in the Quad City area, the Club hosts a variety of gatherings and is an ideal place for numerous occasions. The chef has continued to introduce new and interesting ingredients — some from their on-​site garden — creating a «farm-​to-​fork» experience when possible.
In addition to the clubhouse, club facilities include a zero-​entry swimming pool (constructed in 1997) with an expansion to the lap pool (construction 2011-​12), two lighted tennis courts, the north dining patio, a scenic front lawn, various food venues, and a four lane automatic bowling alley.

Members only — but if your considering joining a private club the Outing Club in Davenport is an excellent choice. Family oriented with a great pool, charming club house and five star dinning experience you can’t go wrong. Excellent management rounds out the review. Don’t leave this club off your list.
