Debating over whether I want to share this hidden gem with the world, but I want them to stay in business — so check out one of the USA’s finest record stores next time you are in Davenport.
This is the only record store I’ve actually seen a vintage copy of Bowie’s «Low» just chilling in the bin. Seriously? Yes. Months earlier I had ordered the same record from the UK off discogs because it’s just plain hard to find. I left it in the bin for you to find. You’re welcome.
So much win at this place.
I’m from the QC originally and whenever I’m visiting home I try to make it back to Ragged. If I had to compare this store to any I’ve been I’d say its most akin to Denver’s Wax Trax, but with more of a focus on 70s goodies, 7 inches and the like — which is a good thing. They also have a respectable lot of new releases.
Stop reading this lovenote to RR and just go already!

Who knew that Davenport, Iowa would have one of the finest record stores in the county. So many amazing records here and a staff who know all about them and knows if they have something. I have only been here a few times but have picked up records by Harry Nilsson, Rodriguez, and yesterday I picked up the new Steve Malkmus and the Jicks record.
This store is huge so make sure you have some time to shop around. They also have a great local music section, they sell record players, and it’s got a vintage clothing store attached to it as well!
Yesterday they told me they were also starting a record label! Keep up the good work Ragged!

One of the best record stores I’ve been to in America… incredible used and new LP and Cd selection, plus a great vintage clothing store is in the place!
Staff is super knowledgable and nice. Oh and tons of local music in stock, too!
