Went here while passing through the Quad Cities and will not be going back. Short of the view/ambiance, there were no pros. The service was slow. Food was very poor. The kitchen was out of ingredients so I couldn’t get what I originally ordered. Ordered a burger well done and it came back still mostly pink. Plates and cups were brought to us dirty. The bartender/cook had what I am assuming we’re their friends there. These individuals kept going behind the bar/into the kitchen. If there was ever a candidate for a bar/restaurant rescue it is this place.

Well I can’t comment on the food because we didn’t get any. The restaurant closes at 9. On a Saturday. That aside, we walked in at 8:15 and were told the kitchen was already closed. This was to be our first time at this restaurant but that left such a bad taste in our mouths I don’t think we’ll be back.

I will get right to the point… Pro: Food tastes good. Con: Once seated, our order(weekday dinner) took so long that other people that came after us were served first. Asked waitress what happened, she said there was a small mix-up in the kitchen. After another extended wait we got served, no apologies, nothing. Since we arrived hungry, this was a very unpleasant experience for us. While the food is good, the overall experience was not. One more thing… whatever they are serving as Tiramisu(dessert) is not the traditional one, it tastes OK, but if you are expecting a version of the Italian dessert, skip this. Doubt we will be back.

First time eating dinner there tonight and we’ll go back! Had the buffalo shrimp appetizer and it had very good flavor. I had fish tacos which were very good and my husband had scallops and really liked them as well. Sat outside and View and service were great.

Been here twice in the last several months. First time was ok, second time was very bad. To sum it up, pretty good food, decent prices, nice location on the river, TERRIBLESERVICE. The first time, my husband and I were on a dinner date. It was only 5:00, just a few tables of customers, and the service was SO slow. Why??? Took a long time for a server to even come to our table. Took a long time for him to come back with water and take our order. Waited longer than it should’ve taken to get our food. Then we sat there with empty plates when we were done eating for a long time before he came back again. And it’s not like he was overwhelmed. Our server was not in sight most of the time. What was he doing? We enjoyed the riverfront and our food, which is the reason we gave it another try. Second time was just the other day when we brought a friend who was visiting from out of town. How embarrassing that we brought her to a restaurant with such terrible service. My husband was on his lunch break from work. Again, it was not that busy. Again we waited a long time to even get menus. Then waited a long time for a server to come and take our drink order. As soon as we asked for water, she started to turn away so I told her we were ready to order. I didn’t want to wait another 10 minutes! We were there for 50 minutes by the time our food came. We just ordered sandwiches! Good grief! And she brought something completely different to my husband than what he ordered. She took it back and checked on his order, then came back saying they were starting on it now. My husband asked her to just cancel it because he had to get back to work already. This is what blew my mind: she shrugged, just said«ok» and walked away! No apology, no offer of any sort, nothing! She didn’t even care! I was a server and assistant manager in a restaurant and I know things happen but this experience was unacceptable. These servers need to be trained and taught basic server etiquette! And why is the kitchen so slow when it’s not that busy??? This place has potential and I wanted so much for it to be better, but it needs to be whipped into shape! Doubt I’m ever going back.

We went here for lunch while visiting a family member at Genesis East. The view is awesome. Nice place to relax at a stressful time. The service left a little to be desired. Prices were somewhat Hugh. My salad was forgotten, had to get our own ketchup and mustard from the table next to us. Burger was good, fries were cold. My husband had a chicken club sandwich he said was okay. Would probably go back and hope for a little better service. This place could be a total gem on the QC riverfront if they improve service and maybe extend lunch menu a little.

I had high hopes for the Waterbar based on most of the reviews. We went there with a group of 10 for a graduation celebration. The seasonal gnocchi was amazing. The spinach salads were loved. Food came and most of those who received their food loved it. The New York Strip steak was«quite good» and the seared blackened scallops were very good. Others also enjoyed their meals. However, 1 person didn’t get their meal until everyone else was almost finished with their food. The fish tacos had stale tortillas and had to be returned. The buffalo chicken sandwich seemed to have been cooked twice as it was VERY dry, super crunchy(not in a good fried chicken way), and seemed to have a layer of buffalo sauce deep fried into the next layer of sauce. The salmon was raw the first time and«rare but edible» the second time it was brought(a minute or two after it was taken away). The waitress didn’t come back to the table until she served the short ribs to our final person(who said the ribs were very good). Finally, the menu said brioche buns/rolls but I’m pretty sure they were kaiser rolls. I don’t know if it was the waitress, who seemed to be overwhelmed, or the kitchen but it was a huge disappointment for half of our party. I’d give it more stars for the quality of the good food, but the service and other food drops it down to 2(at best).

Been there twice, first visit I was was giving them the benefit of doubt they were new. Months later second visit… worst then the first. Pros: Bloody Mary was very good, steak was done as ordered, the view sitting outside. Cons: Very poor service(by Ryan) food was cold and not correct. Waited to get waited on, waited for drinks, waited for silverware for 10 minutes after cold food was delivered. Never offered water took asking twice for salt and pepper. Small menu, no mention of gluten free options.

Wow. Just traveling thru & came across this place by chance. 1st course was Devine. I can’t believe how good the produce was this time of year. Tasted like summer veggies fresh from the garden. We had seasonal gnocchi for an app-wonderful & very creative. Braised short ribs, the chocolate cake & peach sangria were all unbelievable. Wish I lived closer, I’d be back weekly. Oh did I mention the view

The food was absolutely AMAZING and it came in HUGE proportions! From the appetizers to the main course, the entire meal was outstanding. I ordered the gnocchi as an appetizer and it was the best I have ever had. For the entrée I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was huge! Hand breaded juicy chicken breast with all of the toppings. There was more food than we all thought we could eat, but it was so good we finished everything. To top it off the view from the tables was great. The staff were about as good as you can get. And seemed extremely happy to serve you.

We had dinner at the Waterbar 4÷17÷15 it was s beautiful night and we sat out on the patio. We all had salads and they were very tasty I had the kale salad with salmon and it was healthy and tasty. It had s homemade fresh cranberry campaign vinaigrette that was awesome. All in all it was definitely better than the Boathouse, the restaurant in the location before that had subpar food.

Been meaning to try this place since it changed hands from being the Boat House and was hoping for the best. Tried not to have too high of expectations based on prior reviews. Loved the dining area around the bar(not so much the dining area where you first walk in), anticipate the the outdoor seating when the weather is better will be a big draw too. Wait staff just a touch slow, food took slightly longer than a bar and grill but hey, you can’t rush quality. Had the braised short rib sandwich with fries and Kentucky Bourbon Ale. Enjoyed both tremendously. Didn’t need the au jus because it was so moist and full of flavor. Another dining with me had the avocado bacon burger which was good size, tender and lots of flavor. Will probably stick with the appetizers and sandwiches as the dinner entrees seemed a little over priced from what I could tell. Table next to us seemed to get a very generous pour in their wine glasses. Plan to try again soon!

We’ve been to Waterbar a handful of times now, and have had the same experience each visit. The food is pretty decent, and the service is pretty not decent. The first few times we went were shortly after they reopened, so I give them somewhat of a pass for not knowing anything about their own menu. It’s not a formal dining experience, so I didn’t hold them to the normal standard of «learn the menu before you open». Went again recently and it was more of the same: waitress had to phone a friend for help with the specials and details of the menu. The food is good, but nothing to write home about. The bar has most of your standard booze options, nothing fancy. I hope they didn’t spend much money on the remodel, because the place looks pretty much the same as it did when it was the Boat House. The view of the river is excellent and they have a really nice outdoor seating area for the summer months.

We’ve eaten here a couple of times since it ceased being The Boat House and became Waterbar. Both times the food was excellent, the waitstaff was very pleasant, and my scotch on the rocks was a bit more generous and about $ 2 less expensive than most places of this calibre in the area. I do agree with one reviewer who mentioned that the seasoning was a bit light. But that’s a matter of personal taste. My wife thought it was perfect. We had the scallops with the soup of the day. Perhaps the best soup I’ve eaten in a long time. Wish I’d ordered a bowl instead of just a cup! We will go back again.

I actually wasn’t impressed at all. The waiter was friendly, and I really enjoyed the view of the river. However my food was extremely bland, and was more expensive than what I felt the meal was worth(this is comparing to other small plate upscale restraunt). Plating looked nice though, so I am guessing the chef that night had training but minimal experience. I would return, but this is very low on my list.

It was OK. Too much dressing on the Caesar salad, but the chicken was seasoned great. Burger wasn’t seasoned much at all. The tea was really watered down.

Excellent! Nice 1st impression. Great view of the river. I like the remodel from the Boat House. The staff is extremely helpful, fun, friendly and seem to enjoy their job(now there’s a new concept). Tom provided great service. Excellent home made soup. Chicken and Kale This is more gourmet than pub food even though you can still get a burger or a sandwich. Nice selection of craft beers. Really enjoyed the filet(properly cooked) and my wife enjoyed her scallops. Great place for a date. Deserts are large enough to share.
