We subscribed to Know Your Farms(Spring Membership) and really enjoyed it! It was our first time that we joined a Community Supported Agriculture(CSA). They delivered once every week(alternate between Tuesday and Thursday) and have multiple drop-off spots(depending on where you live). We’ve received lots of delicious items: honey, bread, cheese, watermelon, cantalope, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers, squash(lots and lots of squash when it started), peaches, corn, etc. They give you a choice of picking a meat, vegetarian, or vegan box. Depending on which box you select, you then get a specialty item. It’s $ 35 per week, but you pay every two weeks through paypal(so $ 70). Even though there are weeks that I may not get to eat everything and I feel at times it’s expensive, I think of how my money is going towards local farmers and supporting something bigger. They also have small boxes for $ 20 and that will feed 1 – 2 people. I think everyone should invest in a CSA for a season. It’s made me appreciate farms and growing things even more. Know your farms also sends out information every once and a while for the CSA members to help out the farms or learn about where our food is coming from. We worked on a cow farm and helped maintain the fence… unfortunately, I gave up my overalls years ago and they would have been very handy that day.
