To me, Cablanca is worth every bit of its price for style and for function. Mine has served well for 25 years, with only an ocassional need for a replacement switch for the pull chain. Actually, it functioned using the wall lightswtich, but part of the charm of an overhead fan is pulling on the chain to adjust the speed to suit — sort of like opening a pocket watch to check for the time. I have a thing for overhead fans… It’s a pet peeve of mine to see an otherwise gorgeous room with an unsightly overhead ceiling fan. Why would anyone buy a big box store’s idea of ‘style’ when one can own a work of art? Maybe the fan is only used six months a year, but one’s eye goes to the fixture every time the room is entered. Your eye is drawn to something of beauty as with a period– style Casablanca fan. Go with quality. Don’t skimp on the price, especially when a Casablanca fan can all but be considered an «appliance», one that you will keep and treasure, one that can be updated and repaired if needed. Sun’s Up will keep you happy, they do repair and installation. I would trust them for spot on advice before selecting the proper size fan for the application. Here is an excellent repair company, on time service and reasonably priced. What a great family-owned company – Casablanca fan should be proud of its affiliation with this service company.
