I know why the museum is called Young At Art(YAA) — the acronym is YAY! We got there before the event started and very friendly YAA reps greeted us, gave us event maps and wrist bands, and stamped our hands. They were collecting donations to help Children at Risk so I used my credit card to support their cause. As we got Ron Barcelo rum drinks from the outside bar we saw some Unilocal friends — and Ashley! That’s the way to kick off the night! The doors opened shortly after and the fun really began! From the cool Indradhanush rainbow exhibit of clothes and boots and interactive pin art to the cool vibe of Guerra De La Paz’s Cloud Walker exhibit in a darkened room, the art was provocative and varied. The drinks flowed freely! I liked the Panther coffee and rum but went nuts over the Angry Orchard Ale — both ginger and apple flavor(which would be GREAT in a Moscow Mule) and the green apple flavor were delicious… and I really dislike beer but this was the stuff — I could drink this anytime… like this weekend, I’m thinking!(They sell it at supermarkets and have variety packs so it might just happen!) I got an Angry Orchard temp tattoo AND a distressed baseball cap! Hubby liked the beers — especially the Jolly Traveler Shandy beer(the first-ever winter shandy with notes of orange, pomegranate and spice). He also liked the bold flavor of the Florida beer too. The food? I really liked the Artisan Foods sushi(tamago, tuna roll, salmon sashimi, baby octopus, etc.) and Culinary Affairs orzo and ceviche. The Thai Sweet Chili and Roasted Jalapeño Strong and Kind bars were delicious too! Hubby had the Texas Roadhouse ribs which tasted good but were room temp. We got Ashley warm pulled pork from the Texas Roadhouse and sushi from Artisan Foods… hey she’s the hardest working Unilocaltern in Broward and needed sustenance! Look at the pics — do you see the pens in people’s hands, signing up to join the world of Unilocal? She drew crowds! I thought I lost the doggie bandanas that Ashley kindly gave me but I found them outside of my car — we must have dropped them! See the babies in their first Unilocal gear? LOL! Ashley, Adrianna, and Charmie: it was wonderful to see you tonight. Ashley our Unilocaltern, you rocked! Thanks for representing all of us so well! Blue, tonight was beautiful and I appreciate the experience. Michael, thank you for toughing it out by grinning and bearing the lack of seating and getting pushed around by the crowd… you made my night!
