Went for lunch with 2 other Indopaki foodies. Already had my antenna up when I saw the dirty unvacuumed carpet… Then went to wash my hands and found a filthy, urine smelling bathroom that hasnt seen any bleach in years. Back at the table I tried to order tea without milk, but the server informed me their chai was a made-from-concentrate type with milk alteady added and they didnt have plain tea. So I ordered a very non-indian coke, which came along with all of our waters, without ice, plunked down on a dirty stained linen, with a glass top. The TV blaired a loud S. indian variety talk show,(No Bollywood here!) with which the server(manager?) competed by putting his phone on speaker mode. The food took quite some time to arrive. The channa masala was surprisingly good and authentic, the mango chicken curry got a thumbs up from my gf. I thought it was way too sweet. The rice was lame, not good quality biryani and not seasoned in any indian fashion. The nan was good. All were eaten whilst the manager enteryained us from across the restaurant by loudly making travel reservations for his family on speaker phone again… 2 dishes, one side of indian bread, and one warm beverage… and an hour and $ 32 later… I’m thinking I wont be back…

Me and My wife love this place, it feels like home but without having to do the cooking part… The service is wonderful, simple and warmth at the same time. Brenda the waitress is so kind and lovely, makes you feel at home. Five stars!!!

Below average quality Biryani for above average price. Come late night and the waitress will rudely tell you that she’s closed when it’s not time to close yet. Waitress was not happy to serve us and when asked how long the lamb chops would take, responded it’d be a whileeee. Came here with high hope but was let down.

I have to update, as I think this place is overrated given then selections in the vicinity for Indian cuisine. I think this place is pricey for the amount of food you get compared to other places, and I’ve never come and gotten a chicken dish that did not have overcooked chicken. I also ordered the palak paneer, and the the cheese cubes tasted like they had just been tossed into the sauce rather than pan fried before. Now that I’ve had other Indian places in the area, I just don’t think this one is up-to-par.

Decided to try this place out tonight because we wanted to venture out. I ordered the Malsai kabob chicken with mint chutney and a side of garlic naan. The food itself was mediocre. Our server had given us one bowl of rice for 3 entrees. Needless to say when we all had leftovers to take home there was not enough rice. It came as a surprise to me when we asked for extra rice that they would charge you for it. Usually it comes complimentary at most Indian restaurants that I’ve visted. Our server was not attentive to our table until the check came. I would like to note that there was only one other table beside us. The only time she came over quickly was when it was closing time to collect the credit card reciepts. Not missing a heartbeat to let us know they were closed at 9:30p.

Let me just say from the start… This is by far the best tasting Indian food I have eaten in my life. I’ve eaten at almost all of the indian restaurants in Broward county. Ive had indian food in D.C., Boston and even Japan, some of them were very expensive and first rate fancy restaurants… NEVER have i left with such an impression as i have today from Bollywood! The gentleman that took my order, who i believe to have been the owner, was so helpful and friendly. He even took off a drink from the check for the table next to me because the child didnt like the mango lassi, bless her heart for not liking a drink from the gods! Lol He told the mother its not her fault for not liking it because he suggested it. Located in an unassuming strip mall, this restaurant is not meant to impress visually… Until you start tasting the LAYERS of flavor in each bite. Although i will have to admit the colors used to decorate are the EXACTCOLORS I have in my apartment. someone used good taste while decorating! This is a must try when looking for great tasting indian food! It’s quite apparent the owner cares about his reputation !! Try this restaurant you wont be disappointed… Also please do yourselves a favor and stop ordering the food so spicy that you can’t taste the way it was meant to be! I understand everyone’s tastes are different so add the spice later, on the side, AFTER you taste the true INTENDED flavors of the chef… you’re missing out on so many flavors!

The food was delicious and service was good. I had the lamb korma, and it was amazing. The water tasted funky, but other than that, no complaints. I will certainly go back for the food. My friend had the butter chicken and thought it was great. They also had lots of vegetarian dishes, so vegetarians have lots of options. It’s a small place and not so fancy, but if you want good Indian food, it’s a nice quiet spot. It had lots of customers, so others seem to like it too.

The definition of «no frills». I placed a to-go order on Saturday night and my food was ready in 25 minutes as promised. The woman who took the order over the phone spoke with an American accent. When I walked in the first person I saw was a legit Indian man which immediately made me feel like it was authentic. I know that sounds stereotypical AF but I actually am Indian so give me a pass on that judgment! For an order of samosas(3 pieces), chicken tikka masala, big container of basmati rice, regular nan, and two sauces, the total was around $ 20. This could have easily served 2 people. Everything was delicious. If I had to think of anything that could be improved I would say the chicken was slightly dry. I ordered it mild and I still found that to be a bit spicy but in the good runny-nose way, not the teary-eye way. The nan looked and tasted homemade and again if I’m being super critical I would say I’ve had better. And as for the ambience, I guess I wouldn’t choose this place for a date but if you have friends that are into good food then go in person!

A vegetarian’s dream — so often we go to Indian restaurants and even though there is a big focus on vegetarian dishes by far this is the best vegetarian selection of the tastiest Indian food we have yet had in this area. We arrived on last Sunday evening approximately 7PM there only about two other tables and most of their business seems to be takeout however the service was phenomenal and the food was exceptional. We started out with the Madras tomato soup which was flavor to perfection with a nice kick. The peshawari naan stuffed with almonds and raisins was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Often times when we go to an Indian restaurant order a Kashmiri naan that tends to be very very sweet and this was just perfect. The Gogi 65 Southern Indian style Collie flower was just out of this world. We also had the vegetable samosas which were traditional and hearty. For entrees we ordered the Aloo mutter and Bagara baingan– vegetarian entrees servings are very generous and of course they will refill your rice bowl as many times as you need. Our sons ordered meat dishes as they eat me and the goat biryani was excellent and A very very large portion enough for lunch the next day. The other entrée was a goat curry which was very flavorful and spiced to perfection. The best part is that even their menu is vegetarian friendly because you don’t even have to scour through meat dishes to find the nonmeat ones they conveniently have all their meat dishes in red ink in the menu and all their vegetarian dishes are written in green ink! What a pleasure!!! will definitely make this one of our favorites

Had to check this place out after reading all the great Unilocal reviews and fellow helpers — ya’ll didn’t let me down. Yes, this place is a hole in the wall in a random strip mall in davie, I wouldn’t have found it on my own. But the food is amazing! I got the tandoori lunch special, which was only $ 8.99, and was very tasty and filling. It came with the tandoori chicken, garlic nann(to die for), basmati rice, some sauce made of lentils(I forgot what it was called) and a desert. I also tried the mango lasi which was very refreshing and not too sweet, not too sour. Definitely will be coming back here again. The owner was very personable and the food was inexpensive and filling.

Finally got to try this place our after last weeks Unilocal Newsletter & I wasn’t disappointed. The place isn’t a 5 star restaurant, in fact it could use a little remodeling since it feels a bit dated & dark but the food is the real star of the show. Tonight four of us ordered: –Naan bread(a MUST for all the delicious sauces that come with the meal or great by itself) –Veggie Samosas –Chicken 65(medium heat) –Lamb Tiki Masala –Mango Chicken Curry Final cost around $ 79.00 but TOTALLY worth it. My favorite dish was the Mango Chicken Curry, it was balanced, smooth & flavorful, enough to make all your taste buds holler! The chicken was juicy & soaking in the mango curry sauce just basking in a dish popping with flavor. Second favorite dish: The Chicken 65 appetizer, in my mind this is what Indian cuisine is all about. Bite after bite I was hooked more and more on the flavors, I didn’t know what the spices were but I knew I was happy which is all that matters. Third favorite dish: Lamb tiki masala, it looked like an Italian meal but boy was it different. The meat was tender and juicy which was perfect over some basmati rice… Oh yea, good stuff! Least recommended dish: the veggie samosas. They weren’t bad but after trying the Chicken 65 appetizer it feel short in comparison. The samosas are served with a sweet sauce which help balance them out but there’s no where near enough flavor.

This place is great for lunch. They have vegetarian and non vegetarian $ 8.99 specials during the week. They serve it on a cafeteria tray with the little dividers. I had the non-vegetarian option which was chicken korma that day. The appetizer was a beef samoa. They also give you dal, rice, naan, ANDGULABJAMUN(yummy!). Everything was excellent, including the service. There was only one other table with guests at 11:30am on the Friday I visited. They do carryout. Restaurant is basic and clean. They have a tv playing Indian shows. Overall, a great experience and I will be back. Regular entrees are about $ 12-$ 14/each. There is parking in the attached lot.

I came for lunch with some friends and we all got different things. I had to order the naan(helloooo, best thing ever) and the daal makhi. My friends ordered chicken biryani, lamb tika masala, and chicken kabobs. The quantity was more than enough for all of us. We ended up taking a lot of food back home with us. The naan was perfect, fluffy, light, warm, and delicious. My daal could have had some more spices but was still very good. The lamb tika was very good and did not have that game-y taste. The biryani was very good as well, very flavorful and you can definitely taste all the spices in there. The service was great! We were served by an older gentleman who seemed to be the owner or manager. He was very nice, he took his time to explain things on the menu and recommend us his favorites. He checked in periodically to get us anything we needed and to ask if everything was to our liking. It is a great place if youre craving indian food!

I rarely get a chance to eat Indian food since half of my family likes it and the other half either despises it or won’t even try it. So going to Bollywood Biryani with 10 year old for lunch last week was a real treat. It has only been one visit but so far, so good for this hole in the wall in Davie. Since it was Saturday lunch there were no lunch specials, which are usually about $ 9 for a mixed plate of food. We had to order entrees and they were huge! I selected my go to Indian dish, Chicken Tikka Masala($ 11.99) It was 10 year old’s first time eating Indian food so I could not believe his choice… Goat Biryani($ 12.99)! Both dishes were excellent! I preferred the Chicken Tikka Masala. The chicken was very tender. I ordered the sauce mild but it still was aromatic and had just the right amount of spice. It was nice and creamy and went perfectly with the fluffy Basmati Rice. The Biryani had it’s own district flavor and was very good. I did not have much of the goat but I did taste it and it had an interesting flavor. It was not too gamey, but just not a taste I was used to. We also had some Garlic Naan. Smeared with fresh cilantro and garlic and served warm, this naan was delicious! The food is very good but the décor and ambiance at Bollywood Biryani is a disaster. This used to be a takeout Chinese place and it doesn’t look like the owners have put much into it. The place is really dowdy. Frankly, I found eating there to be kind of depressing. Service was good. Many Unilocal reviews said the owner/manager was very welcoming but when we were there he just sat in the back picking at some food. I think this place can definitely do better if they spruce the place up a bit. The food however, is good enough for repeat visits(or at least take out!)

Seriously good! The food is 4.5÷5. I was a little surprised to find such a good place in Davie. The owner is from Karachi and the chef is from Kerela. The interior is a little industrial-sparse and the atmosphere is nonexistent(2⁄5). Service is pleasant(3⁄5), but strange since the server wears a headset for taking phone orders. It’s a little off-putting. My recommendation: order to go.
