My husband and I have been Directbuy members since 2012. We purchase a Platinum membership. The reason for our interest was to furnish our new home. Since joining we have had nothing but a pleasant experience. The owners could not be more friendly and helpful. The staff seem to go out of their way to make sure you get the information you need. We have ordered through our local showroom and through the concierge service. Both exceeded our expectations. When a piece of furniture was received damaged we were not ignored. Mary sent reputable furniture repair services to our house to remedy this matter. We were very satisfied with the outcome. As far as the travel service. Again, no complaints. We have saved hundreds of dollars on each cruise booked as well as rental car services. A refund was given promptly when we needed to cancel a hotel and rental car, this was on seperate occations. Most negative reviews are from people who did not end up joining. Please do not believe the ones that have no real memership experiences with Directbuy. For someone furnishing a home or renovating a kitchen, I would highly recommend this membership. The travel portion is an extra perk.

I love this store specifically because my DirectBuy associate, Desmond Rolle, goes above and beyond to ensure I am able to find and purchase what I need in a very timely manner! He has gotten to know my needs and always makes it happen for me. It’s so refreshing be able to actually receive this level of customer service!

As a DirectBuy member for almost 3 years now, I can’t say enough good things about this company! It’s a very unique business concept that really has the potential to save people money. It takes some learning on how to shop, since it is a unique business. But depending on the items, you can save a little(i.e. electronics) or a lot(i.e. jewelry). It’s important to understand that the benefits of membership are there if you take your time and become an informed consumer. There is a lot of selection, with varying degrees of value and if you’re thorough, you can really maximize savings. My husband and I bought a home beginning of January, and are renovating our master bathroom and relocating the kitchen. Throughout the whole process, the staff has been so helpful as we made our selections. The staff is knowledgeable with the different brands. They also put us in contact with local contractors that are giving us great prices for the labor as well, all are licensed and insured. They have local vendors too(like Marble of the World and D&B tile) where you get even better pricing as a DirectBuy member. I just started ordering a bunch of items for the renovation, since the lead time can range from 2 – 8 weeks. There’s no instant gratification of taking home the purchase then and there, but I much rather wait a few weeks for my items and save money. I strongly recommend people consider joining, especially if they have remodeling projects for their home. In a world of scams, it’s refreshing to find a real way to save our hard earned money(even though it took me some time to figure out how to shop). …plus, they have the cutest dog that works there too :)

Where to begin… take that star and subtract… a lot. We had just bought a house here and had moved almost nothing from our old place. We had heard the ads and read some reviews, so we made an appt. They made it for just before their closing time. There’s a reason for that. After a high pressure pitch, they only gave us until closing to look at the catalogs of merchandise and make a decision. It had to be made then. Yes, I get that we were stupid. We paid the fee and came in over the next several days to look for the furniture we needed. They had told us that they carry common brands that you could see in other locations before you ordered. Not necessarily. The furniture we liked was available nowhere and the other stuff was sooo average in design and waaay above average in price. They tell you that’s because the quality is so high. Well, how can you tell if you can’t see it? We finally decided to take our chances. They had said that if we didn’t like the company’s selection of upholstery, we could just choose another from other catalogs. What they didn’t say, is that you pay for both. We finally placed the order and were told that everything should be there in 6 – 8 weeks, another detail they had glossed over in the presentation. We called the next week to find out the order status. They hadn’t placed it. They couldn’t get the fabric that they said was in stock, we had to start over. They were quite snotty about it. 6 weeks went by…8 weeks went by. A few pieces came in, but some were damaged other pieces were only partially there. We could have had what was in, but we would have had to pay multiple delivery charges, so it was better to wait. Not to mention, what does one do with a hutch that has no buffet on which to sit? Yeah, that would look great. We finally got all of the indoor stuff but was told that it could be another couple of months to get the patio furniture because it was literally on a slow boat from China. It took 4 mo. to get it. Then we found out that the table was not«stone» as it said on the page, but some sort of manufactured composite junk. To make it worse, it was not a standard height. It was too tall for dining chairs, too short for bar stools, so we had to pay someone to come cut off the metal legs. After that we looked at appliances, but it would have cost MORE to buy them from DirectBuy than to get them locally. So much for«wholesale» pricing. It was one problem after another. The living and dining room furniture is nice and well made, but nothing that we couldn’t have done just as well in a fraction of the time. All in all, we may have broken even, but I doubt it. I only wish I could get my font to scream — DON’T DOIT!!!
