DOYOURSELF A FAVOR, ANDDONOTGOTOMASSAGEENVY! If I could give NOSTARS, I would have! I have been a member for 3 years, and the whole time they hit my card every month for $ 55, but I can very rarely get in for a massage when I need one. I have to wait days to be able to go. My card has been on automatic renewal for 3 years, and I just recently had my card replaced due to expiration. They called me 3 – 4 days ago to let me know. I told them I would stop by and update. In the meantime, I made an appointment for a massage in Sunrise on west Sunrise Blvd. for today at 3:00. They called to confirm, yesterday, and reminded me that my card had expired. I got to my appointment today, and they refused to give me my massage unless I gave them a new credit card! I told them that I didn’t want to continue with my membership because I always had a difficult time scheduling. They said I would have to call the Davie location where I joined 3 years ago to deal with it. Then the flamboyant black guy shouts, «Have a nice day!» as I walked out the door, I guess to rub a little salt in the wound. I immediately went over to the Davie location, clearly upset, and asked for a manager. Jacqueline came out, and when she saw I was upset, she went in her office and shut the door! In the meantime, I called my bank to dispute the last 3 months of massages that I ALREADYPAIDFOR!!! They, massage envy, said I could only get them if I gave them a credit card! Why did they need my card when I don’t want to continue and I already have 3PAIDMASSAGES?! I was disputing the charges and was told by one of their desk personnel that I wouldn’t be able to dispute them! I was told that I couldn’t quit unless I gave them written notice. When I asked for a piece of paper and a pen to write one, they wouldn’t give one to me!!! It clearly states in their contract that one may be dropped off at the store you signed up at. This place is a scam! DON’T JOINUNLESSYOUWANTTOBEINDEBTEDTOTHEMFOR A VERYLONGTIME! You’re better off buying a few massages through Groupon each month than having to deal with the hassle of this place!

I only gave one star because Unilocal will not post a review without a rating. Wow, where do I start! The experience from start to finish was terrible. I purchased a gift certificate and voucher for a prenatal massage for my wife. When I called and spoke to the front office, I was informed that the gift certificate and voucher would cover services for the next three months,(that was a lie). When my wife spoke to the office the day of service, she was told that it only covers the«membership fee». Had this«fee» been explained initially I would not have purchased the GC or voucher. Also, my wife requested a female masseuse twice over the phone. She actually rescheduled the appt due to that fact that there were only men available at the time. When she showed up, her masseuse was a man! To add insult to injury, they wanted to keep her card on file so that they could auto– renew the card after the gift card expired in three months. NEWSFLASH… SHEWONTBEBACK!!!

I should’ve known better by reading the reviews but I decided to give it a try since it was close to where I live. Shame on the front desk. I called to make an appointment, I was told that it was confirmed and told the lady that I wanted to buy the 3 month package and she said that I could do that when I checked in and that she was going to be there to walk me through the process. Two days later I came in at the scheduled time(actually 10 mins. earlier to fill out the paperwork) to find out that there was an error in the system and my appointment was never booked, and that for the day and time I wanted the masseuse I had been booked with wasn’t even scheduled. She said they didn’t have a phone number to reach me, which I know it’s not true because I gave my number when I booked the reservation. The woman wasn’t very apologetic just stated what happened as a matter of fact, and said they didn’t have anything available for the next 5 days, which was useless since I «needed» this massage much sooner than that. For the inconvenience she could give me an enhancement by adding essential oils, or I could book a facial if I wanted to come in sooner… a FACIAL? Where did that come from?

Had a massage and facial. First time going here. Had an issue with the facial appt which was supposed to be right after my massage. They did try to make up for it though with a bit of a discount and got me in as soon as they could. Didn’t have to wait to long. The massage was a bit lacking and didn’t last the whole hour. The facial was AMAZING though. Highly recommend. A bit pricey though for what it is. Staff was nice enough.

BEAWARE that if you become a member it is really hard to get rid off. They keep charging you after you cancel and when you want to talk to a supervisor«they are in a meeting». Also they make come there in person to cancel, and then keep charging you.

Watch it. When making an appointment the associate will ask for a credit card to confirm your appointment. The associate stated that the credit card is not charged and only holds the appointment(red flag went off in my head but I gave it anyway). Associate did NOT tell me that there would be a cancellation fee if I cancelled. I called a competing spa in the area and booked an appointment with them. I called Massage Envy back within 8 minutes of booking and asked to cancel the appointment. I was then told that I would be charged ½ the rate of $ 49.99 for cancelling. I said I was not advised of that when I booked the appointment. I also said that I had just called and wanted to cancel. I was put on hold for a moment and then told that it was cancelled without the fee. We shall see. Use caution when booking at Massage Envy. When asked about pricing after the intro massage of $ 49.99 I was told it would be discussed after the massage. Hmmmm.

Overall 4 stars given that it was $ 50. Massages were good but the front desk was a little amateur. Don’t pressure me to buy a membership right when I get out of a relaxing massage. If I like it I will come back and you can just email me a follow up reminder. C’mon man.

This is a scam. They are not upfront with their one year binding membership that you cannot get out of. My regular place was a much better deal when I broke down the costs. When you go online to get help from the corporate office the website redirects you to your local location. I spoke to someone named Ashley at the Davie location who was no help at all and just kept repeating scripted responses to my concerns. She was very well practiced which makes me think they are used to pissed off customers. Do not waste your money! From their business practices I’m sure they’ll be closed in a few years. Just google ‘massage envy membership scam’ and you will see all of the complaints nationwide.

I have been to a Massage Envy before, but I decided to come here for a facial. Overall, it was a positive experience and the woman Becky seemed pretty knowledgeable. She did a nice extraction and let me know tips on what I can do to moisturize my skin. It was also relaxing and the products smelled nice. There were some cons: 1) the room was really cold– I wish they turned up the heat or had extra blankets 2) no shoulder, arm and hand massage– not my first facial and usually while the mask is on your face and hardening, I get a massage. That was not the case here and highly disappointing 3) They say it is an hour facial– but it was more like 50 minutes. I was in, out and paying within the hour. I may come back, but I am not sold to only go here for facials.

I have been a frequent patron of Massage Envy, and this is the second location that I have visited. I recently moved from the DC area where I had many a wonderful massage at the salons there. That being said, my experience at the Davie spa was sub par for a few reasons, one WAY more than the other. Because of my move, I had some sessions I had to use that I had run up, so I decided to book a 90 minute session to use up some of my sessions. I booked an 8 pm session with a male masseur for later that day. I got a call around 4 pm telling me that my therapist was double booked and I needed to be rescheduled. They offered me a female at 7 pm, but I have deep seated chronic tension and prefer male therapists with stronger hands to get the knots out. I wasn’t upset at this point, so I rescheduled to the following day at 11 am. I went in the following day and filled out the standard paperwork stating my chronic pain in my upper back and shoulders which I would like to focus on, and that I would not like my hips or buttocks touched. About 10 minutes later, Ricky came to get Me. When I got in the room, he asked me all the questions on the sheet I had filled out, indicating he had possibly not even looked over it? I don’t know. I indicated again that I don’t want my hips/butt touched and more focus on my neck/back. Without knocking, he entered the room as I was getting under the sheet, causing me to be almost indecent. In the beginning, I felt fine, but as the time went on, I felt that there was an extraordinary amount of time spent on my legs(5 minutes per side per leg, strokes including my hips and butt when I said no) and later when I was face down. As I was supposed to be receiving a back massage, I was getting a hip and butt massage when I never indicated pain there, and DID indicate pain in the upper back and shoulders which I feel was almost ignored completely. The strokes on my upper back weren’t long, deep Swedish massage strokes. They were choppy, uncomfortable and didn’t do a whole lot to get the knots out. And the oil. MYGOD, THEOIL. I am 5’2″ and 110. I thought I was getting buttered up to be put in a roasting pan. It should not take 5 squirts of oil per leg. And for the immodest, I felt that my draping was done very lazily. Most other therapists I’ve had«tuck me in» like a loving mother does her child. Such was NOT the case here and I fund myself hanging on to the sheet to stay decent. I also don’t appreciate being patronized and being called honey and sweetie from a so called«professional». When I left and checked out with the receptionist, she was very helpful and addressed my concerns and ensured me that she would make sure management would voice my concerns to Ricky. She even offered me recommendations for different therapists. Overall, the salon/spa gets 5 stars, but Ricky gets 1.5. If you go here, see anyone else. I’m sure they are fabulous seeing as I am far from a massage newbie and this is my first negative experience.

I always enjoyed my massages from Massage Envy — the issue I had was with the front office staff and the pricing plans. The first massage is $ 39 — but after that, you are told to purchase a membership. Mine was $ 59 a month for six months before I could cancel. I was told that if I didn’t use my massage for the month, I would receive a credit for another massage — and if I accumulated three credits, the $ 59 would be suspended until I used my credits. Well, turns out the last part wasn’t true, and I ended up accumulating six credits. I wanted to cancel to avoid more charges, but I was told that if I canceled I would only have one month to use the credits I had before they would expire. I opted to burn through my credits quickly and then cancel my membership. I don’t anticipate going back any time soon.

I was not a big fan of the massage envy experience. I have had and been in nicer places. For that introductory price they have, I guess it was okay. At least it got me in the door. What I didn’t like was the way they try to make you purchase additional packages after that first visit. It was very uncomfortable and not a pleasing thing after a relaxing 30 minutes.

I first went to check out the $ 39 intro massage with my mother and fell in love with the massage! I had masseuse, Maria! She is so great, dont let her size fool you, she can give a bad deep tissue massage. I am a member now and so is my mother. I think everyone NEEDS a massage, once you get one you’ll understand. I pay $ 49 a month for 6 months and can use it anytime I want even after the month and anywhere in the country!
