Over the years, I have enjoyed many of the delightful and often surprising Pops flavor creations of Chef Jaymes, and all are worth raving about. However, that said, I recently got the Blueberry & Lemon Yogurt Pop at the Davis Farmer’s Market and I thought it was AMAZING. You might be thinking, «Gee, Sarah, that’s a bit of an overstatement for a frozen treat on a stick.» To which I would rush to say, «You obviously haven’t tried Jaymes’ POPs.» Do yourself a favor and try one, or two.

My friends and I were able to try the Watermelon/pineapple, chocolate/espresso and nectarine/raspberry pops @ Eat Real Fest ’10. The chocolate espresso one was my favorite but the watermelon pineapple was very refreshing and light. Hope to be able to try more soon.

Came back here last weekend and ended up trying peaches & berries and melon horchata, both of which were delicious! We ate backwards and had the Popsicles for breakfast. My boyfriend didn’t really like the seeds in the peaches & berries(but that’s personal preference – he hates raspberries and blackberries for that reason), but he definitely liked the flavor. I loved it because I love both peaches and berries. The melon horchata was also good. I felt like it had more melon flavor than horchata… so, I preferred the former. We went back not to get more popsicles, but to try a breakfast sammie. I am soooo glad that we did! It was quite delicious! We got the«BLT» which consisted of bacon bits, arugula, tomato, basil-avocado spread, a fried egg on toasted ciabatta. Yum yum yum! So warm and delicious! Definitely going to try and make it at home(at $ 7.50/sandwich, it can get expensive over time!).

One of the best things with Davis is their uniqueness. Aisu Pops definitely adds to Davis’ culture. Aisu specializeds in high quality popsicles of unique flavors like strawberry lemonade and thai ice tea. They’re usually at the Davis farmers market. Look for an old-school ice box attached to a bike. Awesome!

Homemade popsicles for $ 2. Lots of flavors. My favorite so far is Kaffir Lime Avocado. It’s like a lime pop with a creamier consistency. Really good and inexpensive treat. Like a true Angeleno, during the summer I like my paletas and the cucumber or mango with chile/limon, but I must admit Aisu is the better quality product, the dollar more is worth it.
