Tonight was my first time eating here. My first impressions were that the décor was a little outdated and that there was a lot to choose from in terms of food, since two restaurants operate in the same restaurant. I ordered the red curry. The taste was great! I was just upset about two things —(1) that I had to pay extra for rice since curry should automatically come with rice and(2) that the portions were incredibly small for both the curry and the rice. BEWARE — do not buy food here if you are very hungry! My friend ordered the pad thai, and she had no complaints. In the future, if I came here, I would not order from the Thai Restaurant Menu because of the small portions. However, the food is delicious, and the service is great!

Came here on a Sunday brunch with a few friends and we didn’t have to wait in line at all — ample seating place! So just a heads up, this is a review just for the brunch menu(but I would like to come back soon to try their Thai menu). First off, there’s a lot of selection for the brunch/breakfast menu.(Also note that they serve Thai Sat & Sun dinner only) From omelette to pancakes and waffles to traditional eggs and toast, they have everything in every combination you can think of. After a long long time of deciding, we finally got the Chicken Steak & Eggs, Combo Plate(Sweet potato Hot cakes & Kielbasa), & Traditional breakfast of eggs & Kielbasa. Overall, things weren’t too bad. It was good, but nothing was super outstanding.(The hashbrowns can be crispier) Get the Kielbasa, it is way more worth than the other selections! One thing that bugged me a little bit was that it wasn’t the cleanest diner. Our spoons were still slightly sticky. The waiters and waitresses are all friendly though, so that’s a plus! BUT…what was worth noting though was the Sweet Potato HC(pancake). I wasn’t going to get it, but the owner insisted that I do and I’m so glad I did. It was fluffy and fully of sweet potato flavor. I dont think I’ve ever eaten pancakes so soft before. It was good even without the maple syrup! If you are into pancakes, I HIGHLY recommend these. Everything is mediocre, but I think I would come back just for these! Overall, I’ll be back again, to try their Thai place(perhaps that’ll be better than brunch) and I’ll definitely come back for the Sweet Potato HC!

We stopped here on our way to Tahoe for some breakfast. We were greeted with smiling faces and seated immediately. The restaurant definitely has a family-owned feel to it, right down to the MS Word typed-up menu. The prices were great. I got the $ 9.95 combo plate and felt like I got $ 15 worth of food. The staff checked on us every 5 minutes to top off our coffee cups I’ll be coming back! 5 stars for the service, prices, and food quality.

So in my view, Cindy’s is the best place in Davis for breakfast. I have been to the other spots many times and they are all good. But Cindy’s has that something extra. Nice people, great food — the skillets are particularly good. Good coffee. And it feels like a breakfast place from decades ago. I have not been to Cindy’s in the evening when it turns into a Thai place, though I have been told that’s also very good. But for breakfast — even though its out of the way from where I live — I usually want to head to Cindy’s.

We were on our way home from skiing in Reno. Coming out of Sacramento, I checked my Unilocal app looking for a place for breakfast. Saw this place and read the great reviews. Located conveniently off the freeway. Our waitress was fantastic. I forget her name though sorryMy husband had an awesome skillet breakfast. I had sausage and eggs. Tried grits for the first time. Will definitely make this a regular stop on the way home from the mountains.

Wow the service was great. Absolutely could not ask for a nicer waitress! However, the place needs a little tlc, the food was ok, and the jelly caddy needs to be cleaned from time to time, ate my toast dry since the jam was so gross looking. Really this place was like stepping back into the 70s in an awesome way. There is really no substitution for amazing service, and that’s what we got. Thanks for the huge smile and the warmth, we noticed!

Delicious brunch! Extremely friendly staff. Clean and cozy spot. Loved having a mimosa with my eggs Benedict. Food came out quick and was on point. We will definitely be back!

Cindy’s has been a Davis institution since the 1970s, but in recent years its new owners have combined an excellent American comfort food menu with even better Thai food options. Tonight I had«Pig on Fire» which was an excellent marinated pork with beautifully cut vegetables. It came with a sweet dipping sauce and also a house special spicy sauce with fresh-cut ingredients that was excellent! Sometime I want to come back and try the duck, «Daffy In Trouble». I love this place. So friendly. So unassuming. A real find

I’ve been here twice for breakfast. Have not tried the Thai for lunch or dinner. Pros: good diner-style food, no frills but tasty. Very friendly service. Cons: a bit outdated décor, but this is kind of its charm. I recommend this for a casual family or friend breakfast.

The whole experience from start to finish with a party of 16 people couldn’t get any better. I ordered a garden sandwich with fries, and coffee… Really fresh veggies! The servers gave our table everything we needed with a smile on their faces. Great service, great food :) Jerry was our head server, who kindly split our check 47393 ways on his iPad. This made paying very easy at the end since he asked us upfront if we needed checks split. Thanks Jerry!

I had such a lovely server. She was very knowledgable on the menu and had great recommendations. The food came fast as was so good! I came again later in the week. I had the same thing(country fried steak and eggs). The cook hooked it up and made country potatoes with cheese one too that he let crisp around the edges. Bomb breakfast place and my brother loves it too!

A few years back my wife and I tried this place. and we were not very impressed. But we decided to give them another try a few months back and WOW!!! This place has changed! The breakfast we had was delicious, fast and well portioned. We like it so much we came back the next day! We even decided to try them for dinner a few weeks later. We were kind of hesitant they are a half and half Thai restaurant. but oh man their dinner was just as good as breakfast! If you’re looking for a great meal from biscuits and gravy to full on Thai food you need to check this place out. The wait staff is always friendly and are very knowledgeable about the menu. We never had to wait for a seat or for a refill of our drinks. I know we will be coming back. Thank you Cindy’s restaurant for a great meal with many more to come!

I love the Thai food here. Delivery is fast and the order minimum is low enough that one person can order and have it delivered. Davis has a lot of Thai but this place has the best delivery imho

Came here on a morning looking for decent breakfast. It is located in a weird area between taco bell and motel 6. The place also has a very dirty feel to it as the décor and utensils are really outdated. Ordered their regular breakfast menu and boy does the food suck!!! I have no words to explain it other than that it is bad. I would say for the price you are paying, IHOP or Dennys serves better breakfast. And that’s saying alot! However, thanks to the servers for giving great service. Not your fault the chef sucks

Went for lunch on recommendation of hotel desk clerk. Often a bad move. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken lunch special. First came soup and salad. Broth was delicious. soup vegetables were practically mush. Salad was greens with dressing. Greens seemed fresh but dressing was awful. The Pad Thai was made with spaghetti. I’ve never seen that. Ever. The chicken had a weird consistency so I ate around that. I ate most of the noodles and they were okay. I am a huge fan of Thai food and this was disappointing. Too bad.

Standard breakfast joint but the place has a nice diner vibe that isn’t found at your typical IHOP or Dennys. Came here wayyy early in the morning and there were already what seemed to be regular customers sitting down, sipping on coffee and reading the newspaper. I ordered the early bird special for $ 6.25 that comes with 3 typical breakfast items of your choice. I chose pancakes(pretty fluffy), bacon, and hash browns(not crisp enough). Apparently this place turns into a Thai restaurant during lunch/dinner hours. Interesting that I’ve never heard of Cindy’s until Unilocal, guess there are always some historic gems around every area!

This review is for the Thai food in this restaurant!(this is a hybrid of a thai restaurant and american diner) I came here twice for dinner, once for the Pad See Ew and another for the Run Chicken Run(chicken breast with veggies) and was pretty happy with how it taste compared to all the other Thai places in downtown Davis. I think Cindy’s is up to par/same taste and quality with Thai Nakorn — definitely better than Thai Canteen. Cindy’s a bit on the pricier side compared Thai Canteen but so worth it. In addition the owner of the restaurant is really friendly and actually trained in thailand!

Came here on a Saturday morning about 9ish, so it wasn’t that busy. Plenty of seats at that time. Got seated, the waitresses were friendly so customer service was not lacking. Just wasn’t WOW’d over about the food! Firstly the menu was a little too hectic for me in terms of formatting. Nonetheless, I ordered the Early Bird Starters where you pick 3 things: country potatoes, 2 pieces of bacon, and 1 biscuit. Since it was past 9AM, this wasn’t at its cheapest. I believe you get a cheaper price if you come between 6AM-9AM. My boyfriend ordered a ‘Meat Lovers’ omelette with fries on the side. On the menu, it doesn’t have the option of having fries on the side, so you should ask for that! I was content with the amount of food I got because I purposely bought the cheaper option. However, my boyfriend’s omelette serving was actually very small for about $ 9. The fries had a soggy texture, so we didn’t finish the fries. For a avid fry-lover, this is a first. PROS: — LOVED the freshly squeezed orange juice — Bacon & Country potatoes were good! — Lots of parking at the back — Food didn’t take too long to be made CONS: — Omelette Portion sizes are pretty small — Not happy about their Fries
