Came here for prenatal care. The midwives were wonderful, were willing to listen to my concerns & help me make decisions I was comfortable with. The staff is very caring. After giving birth at Sutter the communicare pediatricians that saw my baby were also great! The lactation consultant there was very helpful as well.
Then there is the bad: the front desk. They are generally rude, ignore you as you stand waiting for help, and quite frankly just plain incompetent. I have private insurance & every time I come in they tell me my insurance is inactive & try to get me to apply for medi-​cal. They assume everyone who walks in the door has Medi-​Cal. A couple times I had to argue with them to convince them that I actually do have insurance, because they kept insisting I just apply for a fee waiver or Medi-​Cal. I tried to explain that I don’t qualify for Medi-​cal, but to no avail. I think I filled out that paperwork about 3 times, to have them tell me I don’t qualify. Really? I’d have to stand at the desk (very pregnant!) waiting each time as they’d call to verify my insurance, waiting until they rudely tell me without looking up «you can have seat». It was very frustrating to say the least.
Trying to get through on the phone was also very difficult, if not impossible some days. I was left on hold for over 20 mins once, then disconnected.
I also had to wait long periods to be seen, even when arriving a few mins early. I realized that each time I’d just have to wait at least 30 mins on avg. to be seen whether I was early or running late.
I would not have continued here at all if my insurance covered Sutter Dr. s, but I think if you need affordable care this is a good place to get it.

I had an appt at 11am. Didn’t get seen till 12pm. No one even came to tell me they were running behind or anything. I had to go wait jn line and ask and when I asked, the receptionist gave me an attitude and said there were already 2 people ahead of me. Then why tf did you guys book this appointment if you guys couldn’t handle 3 people at once??? When the MA came and got me she had a look on her face. It could just be her face though. When the midqife saw me and because i cancelled the papsmear she said 5o juat talk about the baby. I asked for the lab results and she said, «oh yeah, we can talk about that.» She went down th3 list really fast and then excited said lets play with the baby and liaten to the heartbeat. In the midst of that, which was like less than one minute and surprised me by saying, «oh no i had a patient in the other room that couldnt hear the heartbeat. I have to go back to her! «And then quickly swooped me out of the way as if i didn’t matter. She said she’ll see me next time. I told her i had some questions and concerns which I asked and she answered quickly. She said she didn’t want to short-​change me. Then wtf is she doing by kicking me out in like 5 minutes of entering the room??? Her name is Tanya. Anyways, I’m switching! I felt hurt because I waited so long only to not be cared for :*(

Do not work for Communicare Behavioral health in the clerical field in West Sacto Ca. The new business manager is unprofessional and treats new employees like children. Unskilled as a manager. Need to have someone in that field that knows how to encourage team work and promote a healthy work environment.

Front office staff doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing and the doctors could care less about the well being of the patient.
Go elsewhere if you need quality healthcare.

Great facility. Staff know your name and chart by heart!
