Davis Movers

Do not use these movers! I’ve never had a problem with moving in Davis before but decided to contact this company when my normal company left town. It proved to be a big mistake. The proprietor was rude, tried to charge me extra fees, and even taunted me. Additionally, he badmouthed all of the other movers in this area, which is incredibly shady. Completely creepy and unprofessional, especially considering the fact that I remained polite with him the entire time.
Just communicating with the proprietor left me feeling bullied and threatened – beware this company!

University Student Movers moved me for my most recent move. The actual move was ok if not amazing, in that the movers were late but didn’t break anything and didn’t take any longer than their estimate. However, they get two stars because of their unreliability. I booked the company fairly far in advance so that I wouldn’t have to stress out about moving right before the actual event. However, less than two days before my move they contacted me wanting to change the time to 5 hours later! When I complained, they acted like I was hugely inconveniencing them for not wanting to change the time due to other aspects of the move that meant it had to be done in that time-​frame. They ended up being able to give me a time close to my original time but charged me extra money for «inconveniencing» them. Uh, what?!
This company is very inexpensive, but you «pay» for it in their lack of reliability. I would only go with University Student Movers if you’re very flexible about last-​minute changes to your moving day.
