I’ve had their food three times via their catering service. Everything I’ve had has been pretty good, minus the salsa since it’s not spicy enough for my taste. Over all good Mexican food!

They have a really nice outdoor patio. While it’s adjacent to the parking lot, that didn’t seem to create any noise problems. It was actually quieter outside, as the inside seemed a little noisy. Food was prepared promptly and delivered with a smile. Friendly, helpful staff. It’s not mom’s authentic Mexican food, but it’s good and very, very reasonably priced.

Love this place. Great service. It’s mexican food but, better. Does that make sense? All ingredients are fresh. I wanted a taco salad. They don’t have that, per say, so the server suggested an adobe salad. It was so good and so big. I would suggest sharing this with atleast 1 other person, 2 if you all are light eaters. Salsa bar is the best. They have different specials everyday too.

I don’t know how you can make a dish look so good but taste so bad. I’ve tried this place a few times and still can’t find anything good in there. Their tortillas are horrible! gross. I guess I just don’t have the taste buds for Tex-Mex :/

Eh. Mediocre. Kinda bland. A bit overpriced. Not horrible but nothing to rave about either. They have a large salsa bar but much of the salsa is vinegary.

Pretty mediocre. The environment is nice. Staff seem okay. The food is the problem though. I can make better Mexican food. I got whatever the recommended burrito is. With steak and stuff. It was so bland and boring. At least it was edible I suppose.

The blond lady at the register was super helpful with helping choose a vegetarian option. The food came out fast and it was delish. The watermelon margarita was so good. I will definitely be back for their nachos

Very solid Southwestern-influenced Mexican food. Definitely recommended for a fresh and tasty take on some more classic meals. In addition, they have a great assortment of drinks. Although their regular menu items are quite good, the specials are often unique and rather delicious. Their Cubano quesadilla — when available — is to die for. Especially recommended are their seafood dishes, including the paella burrito. Salsas can be quite hit or miss, depending on your taste. Their tomatillo salsa is unique and the perfect balance of tart and slightly sweet. Although this is generally a place you think of for food, their drinks are a steal. A solid rotating selection of beers on tap, including Lagunitas, Deschutes, Drake’s, etc. for under $ 4. Their margaritas are a bit more, but the they’re pretty strong and quite refreshing. Especially recommended are the watermelon margaritas.

Nice casual atmosphere, good for families, and fun décor. There’s a new machine that allows you to select many different types and combinations of sodas, and a pretty standard salsa bar. The service and wait times have always been quick and pleasant. I’ve never had a bad experience here. Their nachos and most of their burritos are great. They’re all pretty filling too and big enough to finish up the rest later. I’m generally not a salad person, but the ones I’ve tried here have been very generously sized and have had a perfect amount of non-lettuce ingredients added to them. There’s a special burrito they make with cranberries around fall time that I’m not really a fan of, their to-go stews are a little small, and I wish their quesadillas were cheaper. But mostly I’m quite pleased with their food. Before you check out, you can pick up a little drink from a sunken part of the counter filled with ice and bottles of beers, teas, lemonades, ect. There’s a ginger jasmine tea that’s always delicious. You can also get hot tea from some bags shown on the other side of the counter, and some cookies too I believe. There’s plenty of seating, and the bathrooms have always been very clean. I’ve never had anything undercooked, burnt, old, or prepared incorrectly here in the few years that I’ve been going.

Tasty food, friendly atmosphere, fun Coca Cola drink machine, lots of college employees. Not the absolute best Mexican food, but just fine for a quick bite to eat. I come here often.

This place can be a hit or a miss but I generally have had a good experience here. The food here depending on the dish can be really good or just sloppy. The only thing that Dos does right is their salsa bar. They have a variety of unlimited salsa and limes and lemons, which is always a nice thing to have. I ordered the«TACO&CHEESEENCHILADAPLATE» and I personally thought this dish was okay. The taco was alright and the enchilada was fine. There isn’t anything really special about this place, but it’s not bad.

Dos caters so much to our law school that people get pretty tired of their burritos– and they joke that it is a for sure way to make you run(to the bathroom). I’ve tried burritos, flautas, quesdillas, a tostada, and everytime I feel as if it’s not worth the price. For TexMex this place is pretty white-washed, having 0 points of authenticity in terms of Mexican flavors. I guess most people who frequent here in Davis don’t have any palate sensors as they food here seems to be fresh but lacks flavor– even with the addition of their salsa. The taquerias are a much better option in Davis.

Nostalgia factor alert. This was my favorite restaurant growing up and I’d make my parents take me here at least once every two weeks, if not every week. Sometimes more. Now I make sure to stop here to satisfy my Tex Mex craving every time I’m back in Davis. Logistics. Order at the counter(great for groups, no hassle of splitting the bill at the end of the meal!) before finding a table and then don’t forget to load up on all the yummy salsas. They usually make a special salsa using whatever fruit is in season, which they place on the very left side of the salsa bar. They’ll give you a number and bring your food out to you when it’s ready. Service is very fast! I always leave feeling super satisfied, but not in a food-coma type of way that you’d expect from typical Mexican food. Things I love here: Yucatan Chicken Salad, Adobe Steak Salad, and Steak Quesadilla. Their salads are HUGE. Like bigger than two heads put together type of huge. Definitely big enough to share, or have for leftovers the next day. They are also very generous with the guacamole atop the salad and on the side of the steak plate! When I’m just looking for a snack, I like the Rice & Steak Plate off the kid’s menu(and layer on the salsas from the salsa bar). If you must get a burrito, which does come with tortilla chips btw, try their Shrimp Burrito. A friend of mine from Cupertino also swears by their Santa Fe Steak Nachos(and used to stop in Davis specifically for that on his way up and down from Tahoe). Side note: I’ve tried some of the other locations before too, and this one is still my favorite!

My go to place for Beef Nachos in Davis. Both times I’ve come here I’ve gotten either the Navajo Nachos or Santa Fe Nachos. I want to say it’s the Santa Fe Nachos because there’s blue corn tortilla chips but the chipotle chili sauce that comes with the dish has been either absent or in very little quantities each time. Which everyone it is, it’s amazing and I’m sure that the other one is equally amazing as well. Whenever I go to Dos Coyotes it’s before/after I venture to Safeway. and I’m usually starving so I don’t recall exactly what I order. It’s a ginormous portion and if you’re one person I’m confident that you’ll have leftovers for the next day even if you’re hella hungry. Their salsa bar is very nice. There’s a lot of variety. my favorite here is the medium salsa. although it could use more tomato chunks. My only other complaint is that the water glass is very small so if you’re thirsty you will find yourself getting up to get refills a lot. I would come again and would recommend this place to anyone looking for beef nachos in Davis. The customer service was good and the place was very clean. I would have liked for my food to come out faster but I think that’s just my stomach talking.

Pros: –very clean –large, delicious salad bar of salsas –great customer service –ample indoor and outdoor seating –tons of parking available –cute décor –HUGE portions, great for the price –unique flavors(I.e. Mango and raspberry salsa) Cons: –I’ve definitely had far better, more authentic Mexican food(this is more of a Mexican-American fusion sort of place). — $ 0.80 upcharge for sour cream(this annoys me; my burritos are always incomplete without my sour cream!)

This was the first place I ate in Davis when I was an undergrad years ago. I loved it then and even though my taste buds have changed through the years and become more«refined» through many meals over the years, I found myself back at Dos recently with great memories of college and hopeful expectations that the food was still as good as I remembered. Well, it didn’t disappoint! I ordered the mahi mahi burrito, my old staple. They still make it nice and big, with a decent amount of fish and lots of fillings, including that yummy white sauce! I brought along two friends who ordered the same thing and they liked how it seemed lighter than other burritos they have had and how it was full of flavor. Definitely looking forward to my next visit back to the area, I’m glad that both in appearance and the quality of the food that Dos hasn’t changed much at all through the years!

Loved this place when I was a student at UCD. Pretty much run by students working part time jobs. Food is cheap and delicious! Perfect for a student on a budget. Anyway, I just ate here today with my stepson. It was the first time I had dined here since I graduated in 2000. The food was just as good and filling as I remember!
