Pretty standard halal that is a cut below«Halal guys.» The highlights here are lamb/chicken over rice– which comes with a basic salad and a drink. The meats are tasty and well seasoned, and the rice it comes with is just average. I wish that for the price you also get a piece of pita bread or something more, as I find a small tray of food unsatisfying. Another good deal is the breakfast burrito before 10:30 — I get it with chicken, eggs, and cilantro and the eggs are fluffy and nice. Otherwise, I don’t recommend options with fries or chips and the quesadilla here is pretty average. For a quick bite around Mondavi/the visitor center this place suffices but mostly for the chicken/lamb over rice.

The chicken over rice is very similar to the one served in silo! The meat chunks are much bigger and the vege tastes fresher! Even tho it’s a bit more expensive than the one in silo, it worth the price! Another great thing about here is that there is no long line! You don’t have to WAIT!

This place is so much better than Shah’s although they seem very similar and are most likely owned by the same people. However, this Fusion Fresh is definitely a lot more fresh than Shah’s because they seem to make the food as people order and they also have soda in cans(they’re still carbonated!). Also the salad is a lot more crunchy so that’s an extra plus. The portion size is about the regular size. I got a chicken a rice plate with extra white sauce and extra Sriracha sauce which came out to $ 7.75! It is so jealous! Yummy yummy! Their chicken is delicious and tastes very fresh as mentioned before. Also, they don’t charge extra for using credit card or debit card so that’s always a plus! The workers here are extremely friendly and don’t make you feel rushed to order or pay. However, the downside is that they do not have restrooms nearby and the Mondavi Center isn’t open for their customers. Also, there were only about 6 tables for people to lounge around and eat. I would recommend this place if you don’t want to wait in a long line and want a break from school. You need to pass by the arboretum to get this mini food truck so you get fresh air and yummy food!

+ THEFOOD Pretty much the exact same thing as Shah’s Halal cart but the portion sizes are a bit bigger. The meats are bigger cubes than the chunks given at the Silo. I thought the meat was a bit more flavored too. I think they add little more vegetables too(with tomatoes and onions), rather than just lettuce at the other food cart. This cart has more variety because it has breakfast options and more drinks offered. I think since there are more options here, the food is slightly more expensive. The chicken over rice was $ 7.75, whereas it’s $ 7.50 at the Silo. + THELOCATION One thing I love about this food cart is that there are NOLINES! At the Silo, you might wait up to 20 minutes in line, but the most you’d probably have to wait at this food cart is 5 minutes. There’s also a bunch of seating nearby so you’ll have a nice place to eat your lunch!

Exactly 100 steps from my office, yet I’d walk a mile for the food! Halal is my life and this little cart is everything thing I would want. Big portions, reasonable prices, including a soda, and pleasant service. Lamb Rice plate, trifecta Chicken Tacos, and Tikka Tuesday makes 100 steps a real fast and fabulous meal!

This place is LITERALLY the same truck as Shah’s by the Silo BUT with a bigger menu(breakfast + some other lunch options). I actually like Fusion Fresh more because lines are WAYYY shorter AND you get bigger portions! My mixed over rice actually got me full. AND they give out cans of soda instead of having a soda machine with diluted soda! AND mixed over rice is $ 7.75, at the silo, there’s an extra charge for mix I’ve tried their chicken breakfast burrito($ 3.50) and its basically the halal chicken with eggs, onions, and cheese(I think?). The burrito was ok, Im not used to the eating the chciekn outside of chicken/rice but the burrito was pretty big and filling. The only problem with this truck is that its at the Mondavi center which is SO far from the rest of campus.

I stopped at the Mondavi Center ticket/box office to buy tickets for a show on campus(Wright Hall) and gosh do I miss that student discount! They even had a free noon concert! But, priorities first, I had gone on my lunch break(hurrah 9−5ers) and parking was fine with permit… but I was hungry! Saw this food truck right nearby and decided to check it out, had the chicken soft tacos(mild) with free bottle of water. The chicken was more like kabob style except in the tortilla instead of pita, fusion indeed! Yummy and cheap. Way to go, dunno if it’s still Sodexho these days but props.

Such good halal food at such a good price! More variety an options than the Silo Shahs. I love the Chapli Kabob and the chicken taco and the sheesh kabob chicken. yumm my mouth is salivating right now. Why didn’t I know about this before?! I’m coming here every week!

Needed a quick bite while walking back to my hotel from campus and this truck fit the bill. The lamb gyro was served on warm, soft pita bread and topped with greens(I want to say cabbage, but it might have been lettuce), chopped tomatoes, onions, yogurt sauce, and hot sauce. The meat was flavorful and tender. All lunches come with a drink, and my combo clocked in at just under $ 7. Very satisfied with the quality, price, portion, and speed of service.

Food can be a little pricey(,$ 7.25 for a most dishes + soda). I usually come here during classes at GSM for a quick bite. I personally recommend chicken over rice, and chicken shish kabob over rice. The serving size isn’t exactly big but good enough for lunch.

Have again: the falafel sandwich was very good and came with a drink(soda or water) for $ 6. Perfect location just outside a noon matinée at Mondavi.
