Me encanta el café y el pan esta riquisimo! Y el servicio es estupendo! Los pasteles son unicos cada cumple años de mi hijo o mi esposo les compro un pastel y les encanta!

how in the world did this place end up in davis? ask the owners and they’ll tell you the story. people come from all over nor cal to taste their amazing pastries. i like that they don’t have tv’s on the walls so you actually have to have a conversation with the people you’re with. but it’s hard to talk when you’re shoving your face with all the delicious pastries they offer. from croissants to strudel to prune danishes. they have great looking cakes and tarts as well, but i haven’t tried those yet. this is a great place to spend some time. whether you’re relaxing with some coffee and a book or taking your wife out for a date.

Recently enjoyed breakfast here. My companion and I split a ham croissant and a breakfast croissant. We agreed we should have gotten two breakfast croissants. Delicious! She had a latte and I had iced tea which was good. I give a minus to the crowd though. Two groups merged into one large group. The originals didn’t bus their table so others coming in suffered. The two large groups blocked walkways making difficult navigating for other patrons and wait staff. Wished staff would have stepped in to guide/assist inconsiderate patrons.

I enjoyed my time in here during Christmas but I don’t know if I’d feel the same on a hot summer day. When it’s 40 degrees outside, a hot coffee and something sweet is awesome. If you’re in town, you should absolutely Check it out. The ladies working here were helpful without being overbearing. On a Wednesday the day before Christmas Eve, this place was happening. There were a dozen people sitting and eating inside and another half a dozen in line so they’re doing something right.

Really like the cozy atmosphere and pastries are delicious. But last week we stopped in for lunch and I was disappointed with my quiche. It seemed to be a layer of cheese melted on a bed of spinach, with no custard and very thin like an appetizer. So, I asked for a slice of their toasted bread which they serve with the goulash, only to be told my quiche didn’t come with it. Really?! I went home and ate a sandwich and didn’t buy the loaf of bread there after all.

I love this place and I’m never disappointed no matter what I order. Most amazing latte in Davis by far. Best place for special birthday cake too!

Lovely little café. Quiet and a bit out of the way(which probably contributes to the quieter atmosphere), but lovely nonetheless. Their pastries are adorable! Not the best study spot if you need outlets, but they do have wifi.

Have only been in once for dine-in(quiche and gelato), all other times for pastries or cake($ 4.50 slices or whole cakes from $ 25+) to go. The office will occasionally get a bunch of small 6″ cakes from here when there’s a celebration. Given my weakness for sweets, I only now noticed their chocolates/truffles selection in the glass case, which is comparable to some of the other confectioners’ price points I’ve seen during my Christmas shopping trips elsewhere. I’ve tried the Fruit Tart(chocolate coated crust, white cake, custard, fruit), the signature Gloria Mousse(chocolate cake, white/milk/dark chocolate mousse), Layla Torte(white cake, marzipan, chocolate Grand Marnier), Chocolate Raspberry(self explanatory), Torte della Casa(white cake, rum, almond, hazelnut, raspberry, nougat, and white chocolate) and a few others. For a special dinner, rather than order ahead I just walked in. Specifically had my mind set on the Chocolate Orange cake(chocolate cake, chocolate/orange cream filling), but all they had available was in the 8″ round size(serves 10 – 12 people). After tax cost me $ 39.50, which is about the same cost as an 8″ round cake from Ettores European Bakery, for example($ 33.50 pre-tax) or a 9″ from Freeport Bakery. To each their own. These cakes are pretty, and pretty delicious.

A little hidden and tucked away from the busier parts of Davis, this place is a pleasant find. It’s very quaint and charming, but you definitely wouldn’t be able to tell from the outside that this place held many treasures. Even though you can definitely walk in and take your orders to go, there are many many seats, so choosing to dine in and enjoy the atmosphere is what we choose to do. They serve a decent sized selection of pastries which is where the gold is at. They also serve breakfast as well, but I have not tried many items aside from their breakfast spinach quiche was just okay. We ordered a puff pastry that was filled with custard and strawberries on top. Flakey+custard+strawerries is always an amazing combination and this pastry did not disappoint! MHMM. Can’t wait to come back to try all their danishes because they look very well filled and delicious. I also can’t wait to try their various meringue cookies and truffles offered!

This place is a bit hard to find! But the breakfast special, pastry and coffee are awesome!!! I love their breakfast special! I always order either the ham and cheese croissant or the spinach quiche! Their coffee and hot chocolate are awesome too! My friend loves their hot chocolate because it’s not too sweet but super rich chocolate taste! I love to order either cappuccino or latte. The way they make the coffee is really authentic! Def try it! I love to go there to get brunch on a chilling weekend morning. And take some pastries on the way out! They have all these cute looking cookies in package which will be nice for gift. I don’t recommend the cake. They are all too sweet for me. But if you have a sweet tooth, you should try.

This place seems authentic to Austrian cuisine and baked goods! The shop had a lot of seating with free wifi. The baked goods selections was also on point and they also serve a variety of drinks, gelato, pizza and quiches. Next time I’m here, I’m trying the Goulash!

This was my first visit here even though I live within walking distance from the place. It seemed cozy and quiet on a Friday afternoon, which was nice as I was busy bonding with my best friend’s newborn son. I had an almond croissant and it was a perfect combination of soft inside and crispy outside. Not too sweet, excellent. I plan on coming back to try out the variety of pastries and drinks.

Welcome to the world of yummy pastries and desserts with names I can’t pronounce all housed in lovely glass cases. Seriously, this yellow/gold building right off of 5th street is definitely removed from the bustle of town, but it is a gem that shouldn’t be overlooked. If you’re in the mood for a pastry(sweet or savory!) or a fancy dessert, this is the place to go. They also have fun breakfast items, like breakfast pizzas! I ordered a panini once, and while it was very delicious, the portion was small. As far as pastries, you probably can’t go wrong, but I haven’t tried them all! I love the almond croissant, which has(not enough) almond paste shrouded in flaky pastry layers. The swirled chocolate pastry that almost resembles a cinnamon roll is also delicious. The apple-filled pastry was good too and had some yummy crunchy nuts on top but also seemed to be lacking in apple filling. All in all, the pastries are definitely worth a try, and there are so many options that you’ll have to come back several times to try them all! Lastly, I had a latte which was terrible, despite the beautiful presentation. The layers of the milk, espresso, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings looked appealing in the tall, clear glass mug, but the espresso tasted similar to Folger’s. Come for the food, not the lattes, and enjoy the cozy indoor seating or the pretty, shaded outdoor patio in the back!

Konditorei is hidden in East Davis, but it should be sought out as early as possible. This bakery and café specializes in German-style pastries — as opposed to French-style — which means more of a focus on cakes, Danishes, and strudel. Their unassuming location ultimately resembles a country grandparent’s house on the inside which makes the experience very much like visiting a family member for some homemade treats. On my visit, I sampled several treats. Their Danishes were just awesome. I had the peach version which included a delicious vanilla crème. Their apple croissant was also good, but more like a Danish than a traditional croissant. The piece of apple strudel was very good, although the generous dusting of powdered sugar does make things a little messy. Konditorei is perfect for take out or lingering with friends over coffee. It is a little outside the downtown-UC area, but well within a bike ride or walk from the East Davis residential areas. The location is not as convenient for those passing through Davis, but you will be rewarded with a wonderful treat if you venture off the Interstate 80 corridor.

This place is GOLD! I had a craving for pastries for breakfast. After searching Unilocal,I arrived at Konditorei as it was a top search result. I came in exactly when they opened 7am on a Sunday morning. The café was ready. Everything was on full display right. You could choose from pastries to tarts to doughnut pastries. I was amazed, not only does the pastries taste great, but they are beautiful from the eye. I could never in my life create the beautiful assortment of pastries they make. They have pastries of all different flavors, it makes my mouth savor just thinking about it. If you like fruit pastries, this is the place to go. I can’t wait to come back here and try more things. My favorite here was the peach vanilla danish. Just the perfect amount of pastry and peach. The cinnamon roll was bombdotcom. The fruit tart with poppy seed bread was a healthy fresh bite. Krapfen is swaggy good. This place is honestly the best breakfast place to go in Davis, even if you’re not from Davis, come here because it’s GOLD i tell ya.

I love coming here after lunch for a sweet treat! I’ve had many pastries and the gelato, but nothing more. Pastries: I love the pastries at Konditorei. I’ve purchased too many to review, but what I’ve noticed that is most consistent about all of their pastries is their flakiness, warmness and wholesome goodness. I really like the whole wheat danish, especially because I sometimes forget it is made with whole wheat flour, it tastes like a normal danish and not as healthy as I’d expect. Gelato: Not my favorite. I’ve sampled quite a few and none have really stood out at me. I usually like to eat strawberry gelato everywhere I go and I wouldn’t recommend the strawberry here unless you like bland tasting gelato. I like my gelato rich and creamy and sadly I don’t get that from Konditorei. I’m sure their other flavors are great. Ambiance: My colleagues and I enjoy coming here. Even when the place is jam packed the environment is nice and peaceful. The space is big and they do provide free wifi for people wanting to get work done. I’ve been here alone and also with company and both ways I am completely comfortable and relaxed. Overall: Really cute café with amazing pastries and a relaxing environment!

Came here a while back and it is pretty solid. It’s bakery goods are amazing but it’s lunch items are only ok. Lunch items: For lunch I had the noodle soup. It tasted really only ok and my friends thought it was similar to instant ramen. I also has the breakfast quiche which was not that memorable. My friend had the calzone and that was REALLY good if you like anchovies! It was a hodge podge of things and was still delicious. Bakery items: I sampled three cakes(tried s bit of all of my friends) and I had an almond Crossiant. The cakes were all delicious. I can’t remember which ones we got exactly but I definitely has a raspberry and chocolate one. The almond Crossiant was TODIEFOR. It was seriously good! Ambiance: We sat here and chatted for a while and my friend had previously been studying here. It looks small on the outside but it is actually pretty spacious and there is wifi. Have s very relaxed vibe so I think it is great. Service: The lady at the counter was super nice. I asked her for recommendations and she took the time to explain each cake to me. Love a place with good service!

A nice little cozy bakery in the heart of Davis, Konditorei is the best place for(Austrian) pastries and cakes! + The Pastries I actually never tried their«regular food» and only came to Konditorei for breakfast on weekends or to get a cake for a birthday and/or celebrations. My favorites include the Apple Croissant, the Almond Croissant, and the Apple Strudel! The Danishes are also pretty amazing! Add a little espresso drink(Latte, Cappuccino, or a Mocha) and you’re golden for some great weekend breakfast! You’ll feel a little European for a few minutes while you sip your beverage and savor your pastries. Don’t forget to try their cakes too! + Ambiance and Service Homey, clean, spacious, and open. Konditorei is a sweet place to eat some good food and enjoy the day. The place does get really busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Come early!

Delicious food! We had the lentel and ghoulish soups with grain bread along with a flaky ham and cheese croissant. The pastry dessert case was calling, so we shared a scrumptious torte layered with chocolate and white cream filling with a hint of lemon. They offer a full range of pastries, creamed desserts and cakes along with an espresso bar. An outdoor seating area is available and the interior restaurant and restrooms were clean. While having lunch we couldn’t believe all the patrons who kept walking in the door! We knew we found a good place to enjoy lunch. Then only negative would be asking a worker to speak with the owner, who was present, which dessert would be Austrian authentic. Unfortunately, she didn’t ask and the owner left before we ordered dessert. Even though delicious, the soup cost seemed pricy for the amount received. We will return. :)

When we were looking for this place, we completely missed it since it kind of blends in with the area. It’s a quaint shop that is family owned. The decorations are so cute and the place is really well lite with natural lighting. It feels so nice to sit there and enjoy a meal with a friend, or to even have a met up with several friends to chat. The little cookie display in the entrance made me want some by just looking at them, each one looked so delicious! We first ordered in the front; I had a really difficult time deciding on what pastry I wanted because everything look so good! I ended up settling for a «Krapfen». For a drink, I had no idea what I wanted and was recommended the latte with caramel flavoring. Both for a total around 8 bucks. It’s a little on the pricey side but it was sure worth it. My roommate ordered a cream cheese danish and a mocha. The pastry was given to us on a tray and drinks were served to us a little bit afterwards. I feel in love with my pastry after the first bite. It was so light and sweet, the vanilla custard wasn’t too sweet and balanced with the berries perfectly. I excepted some kind of berry jam but they had whole berries in there. I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting this again next time, but then again, I would love to try something else. My roommate’s cream cheese danish was delicious, very savory and yet a bit of sweet mixed in. For my latte, it was ok for me since I don’t really like bitter tasting coffee, but I’m sure it’s delicious for those that do(it was the same with the mocha). I didn’t fall in love with the drinks but I’m on cloud 9 for the pastries. If I can, I’d want the Krapfen for dessert after every meal for me. Final Thoughts: I’m afraid this place will be part of my guilty pleasure list now.

Cute little café hidden in Central East Davis near the post office. Pros: — very unique flavored cakes and very nicely decorated :) — very smooth and flavor not too sweet Cons: — closes @ 6pm — way too early! most some of the cakes were sold out by the time we got there :/ — a bit on the pricier side — $ 4.91/cake — cakes are smaller than the images seem to be in pictures on Unilocal
