Verizon Z Wireless

Horrible experience! I was talked into getting a «free» tablet because overall my phone bill would be cheaper. They didn’t have any in stock but I could pick it up the next day. When I went to pick up the «free» tablet, it turned out to be a $ 100 rebate while the total came to $ 143. I should have canceled it right there. However, I sent in the rebate taking pictures of all of the information. That was May 2^nd and it is now the end of August. For the last month, I have been on the phone with Verizon 7 times trying to nail done the problem. Apparently the departments don’t talk to each other. I have been bounced back and forth, promised to be called back etc between Verizon Wireless and their rebate center. After I finally got found the «right» person to resend the documentation too, they told me I had the wrong department and someone else handled Kindle rebates. It was no secret during any of these phone calls that my issue involved a Kindle. The new number I was given went to a Gold Buying line. It is starting to feel like a scam. I called Verizon back to relay this information and the person was down right rude and not very understanding of the hassle this has been. I have been with Verizon for 10 years. Great service for 8 but a lot of challenges these last two. I don’t recommend this store location or Verizon itself. Once our contact ends, we will be looking for new service.

I came in to the store add a line and phone to my wireless plan. Things started off OK, but as we’re setting up the phone plan the salesman starts talking to me about my Internet service and gives me the hard sell about switching from what I have (AT&T DSL) while never naming the company I’d be switching too. Honestly, I just assumed Verizon was now offering Internet in Davis. In this conversation, he swore that (1) the price for the new service would be exactly the same as what I am currently paying AT&T (2) that I would not need to buy any new equipment; (3) that the price he was quoting me was fixed and would not go up after any term; and (4) that the service I would be getting would be much faster and more reliable than the service I already have. Guess how many of these things were true? NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM. As we proceed with the transactions, he tells me that whoops, the Internet price is actually $ 10 MORE than his initial quote, but he swears that the service is so much better that it’s totally worth it. I am uneasy but I reluctantly agree that I am willing to pay a bit more for an improvement in service so we continue. I ask again to confirm that I won’t need any equipment and he swears that my existing DSL modem will work even though he must know full well that it won’t as he knows it is a cable service (I still didn’t know at this point that he was selling me Comcast Xfinity and not some Verizon service — I only found that out at the point of signing the contract). But he does say he will add on a modem rental to the agreement just in case, failing to mention that that will add another $ 10 a month to my bill. Then he shows me accessories for my new phone — I wanted a case but in addition to that he sells me on this glass protector thing. I assume it costs ~$ 10 – 15 bucks — my bad for not asking. Then he tells me that whoops, it turns out there *IS* an install fee of $ 25 for the Internet but he will throw in the phone case for free — I just have to pay for the glass protector. Which I find out, as I’m seeing the bill at the end of the transaction, cost $ 50! There’s no way I would have agreed to that had I know the cost. But by then he had already put it on so it was too late. In the end, the Internet service he swore was faster and more reliable ended up being slower and not working nearly as well as what I already had so now I’ve wasted hours of my time trying to get rid of it. BUYER BEWARE. I can see how every part of this transaction was designed to sell me something I didn’t want or need without telling me the true price or what I was actually getting until it would be exceedingly difficult to go back on it. Classic bait and switch.

I could write the EXACT same story as Elizabeth above — they are dishonest and rude and do not have any of the product they say and they lie lie lie about what is the truth!

I am very dissatisfied with the level of customer service I received here. When I first went in I felt that the sales associate was friendly and nice. He help me get my upgrade and moved me to the «edge plan» which provides more data and no contract. He showed me the new monthly cost which was stated to be $ 5 less than my current bill. The phone I wanted was not in stock (64 gig iPhone 6) so he ordered it, had me pay what was due (only the taxes on the cost of the phone — $ 140) and told me to expect a call in 3 – 4 business days to pick up the phone.
After 4 days I decided to stop in and see if maybe they just didn’t have time to call me yet. I was then told that the phone was not there and it typically takes 7 – 10 business days. This was the same person that has previously said 4 days… Ok, I can wait another week no problem.
After 12 days with no call I called the store to ask if they had gotten the phone in. «Well, that phone is currently on back order» I was told. That would have been nice to know… I feel that a courtesy call would have been nice! I asked if they had any sort of timeline they could give me. Their response was no. So I just wait until 3 weeks, 5 weeks or 10 weeks from now? Their response was that it is a very popular item so they had no idea how many other back orders were being filled before mine. I asked if I could just be refunded and I would get the phone elsewhere. I was told that I could not be refunded until the phone came in, at which point they would refund me minus a restocking fee. WHAT? A restocking fee for something I will never even see and wait an undetermined amount of time for?
I am still waiting to hear back when the phone comes in (2.5 weeks later) and had to speak to he managers manager to get the restocking fee waived. I have since got my iPhone 6 at another store and was surprised to learn that the number that I was shown at z wireless for my new monthly bill was before tax, so my bill will actually go up about $ 8. Luckily the other company was not as shiesty and told me before moving forward.
All in all, poor customer service and courtesy. These people just want to make that sale and get their commission in my opinion.
