Every time we talk about going out for a good steak dinner, Lucky’s always comes to mind. Their prime rib and zip sauce is always a safe bet. The garlic mashed potatoes are a perfect side dish as well as the soups. Don’t fill up on the bread and butter before your dinner shows up.

We arrived at 8:35 and found out that they are closing early today. The last seating was at 8:30. Wanted to see if we can still get seated. Several employees waked by. Each one had a look of disgust. Finally an employee said«We are done for the night.» It’s OK to close early and not be seated but the rudeness was horrible.

After waiting for about 30 minutes for a table in this packed joint, I figured we were in for some solid steaks. Having not had a steak in a long time, I was stoked. STOKED. So did it deliver? Was my steak craving satiated? There’s two stars above, so you can probably deduce that one. I ordered the center-cut sirloin with a side of steak fries and a chicken tortilla soup to start. The best part of the meal was the tortilla soup. It definitely tasted delicious, and was spicy, but the tortilla pieces were a little too big for a soup dish. Usually you get those tortilla strips for this soup, but I had about 1″ wide strips. Too big! The bread that they serve once you sit down was fantastic though. I would almost return just for the bread. The steak was a disappointment. Now, I ordered it well done. I know I know, all you steak purists out there just dismissed my review. I’ve always been a well-done guy with meat, and I’ve had some damned good steaks and burgers that were well done. This steak? This was beyond done. It was completely dry, flavorless(I was pouring on the A1 sauce like there was more where that came from, and there was…), and tough. There is a big difference between well done and overcooked. My brother in law ordered his steak cooked medium and he even thought it was overcooked. The steak fries were nothing to write home about either. Red Robin has better seasoned steak fries. If there’s no wait, maybe eat here, otherwise go elsewhere.

I was with a group last week and we selected the Davison Lucky’s location for dinner and drinks. The drinks were well prepared. Our waitress was attentive and professional. The fresh bread before dinner was nice, warm and yummy. I followed that up with a house side salad and an order of the Maryland crab cakes. The salad was nice, I was happy that the greens were mixed. The crab cakes were prepared in house not frozen and came with accompanying shrimp and lobster sauce. I selected a baked sweet potato as my side. The food was fine, the portions are large. I always have tons and f leftovers for an additional meal due to the large sizes. I will return and recommend it if you like red meat.

I don’t even know where to begin reviewing this place. Everything on the menu is great, you couldn’t go wrong. They have a house brewed beer(called«Lucky’s Ale», I think) that is really good. Their desserts are INSANELY huge, and very fresh. We like to get a slice of their cheesecake or the carrot cake to take home. They are both the size of a small continent. For appetizers, my favorite is the stuffed mushrooms or the fish tacos. For dinner, I flip flop between the House Cut Porterhouse with Mac and cheese or the seafood stuffed salmon with cheddar broccoli. The meals are served with their homemade Lucky bread, which is so good it deserves a whole seperate review of its own. Soup or salad comes with your meal as well, and the potato cheese is their most popular, but the French onion is awesome too! We ALWAYS request to sit on the bar side, even if we are with a group. It’s more comfortable and cozier somehow. The ambience there is really phenomenal. Even though the waitstaff is in starched white shirts and ties, and the napkins are linen, you can go there casually. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing a tee shirt and jeans or a suit or dress. Just make sure your pants are stretchy, because you are going to leave very full!

I really like Lucky’s. I’ve had a pasta dish there that was really good, but normally I just get the wedge salad for dinner and it is to die for(I know, I know, it’s just a wedge) but with the bread and butter, it’s all I need to be happy! I don’t think my husband has ever liked his food here, but he always orders the wrong thing(seriously!) and he always likes my food. Never had their steak, but my brother loves it. I give it 4 stars because the food isn’t the best(for the price) I’ve ever had, but it’s still really good. Overall, my family really likes it and we go every year after going Christmas tree hunting! — as a side note, there’s always quite a wait.

One of my favorite area restaurants! We eat here often if you come 10 times your food will be spot on 9 of them. The bread they give you is always great, some of the best I have had. The down side is they get really busy(good sign) and the wait can be tough on popular nights, but they are consistent and reasonably priced for the quality of food you get. You don’t leave here hungry.

It was, meh. A little pricey, yes — but still under $ 30 for two people. Our friend praised the potato soup, and said it was the best part of his meal. I thought the steak was really good, happy they had Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing, but she didn’t give me a lemon with my water, my bf received fries instead of the onion rings he ordered, no smiles, and it took a long time to get the bill with only half the place full. Would I return? Not likely

We have eaten at Lucky’s in Davison many many times over the years. The Waitresses can be hit or miss. Most are very friendly and have a smile. A few of them always seems to be having a bad day and it makes for a less than enjoyable visit. The bread is good. For some reason the first loaf to the table is sometimes a little hard and stale, but the second loaf is always soft, warm, and fresh. The meats used to always be consistently excellent quality and well portioned for the money. But over the past year or so, the quality of their meats has declined and the portions have gotten smaller. I treated some of my family to lunch last week. A few of us got their NY Strip sandwich on the specials board. They were all small, thin, and over cooked, I felt bad for recommending it. The Reuben sandwiches had so little sauerkraut it was embarrassing. The salads are always excellent… well put together, consistent in portion, and taste good. Sometimes the soft drinks taste of bad well water. We usually ask for a lemon to mask that taste. Other times, they taste fine. The atmosphere in the dining area is starting to look a little dated. It could use some updates and the TV’s are terribly small by today’s standards. Overall Lucky’s is a decent place to dine.

Im not a steak person. But LUCKYS has it!!! SUCH yummy food and the best steak I have ever had! Free bread and AMAZING bread at that! Great friendly staff!
