Stopped by on a whim for a Flat Tire beer and 50 cent wings at this Belmont neighborhood tavern. Glad I did, too! The wings were good! Crispy garlic parm, which is not on the menu. The patrons were friendly and seemed like regulars. The bartender and wait staff were super friendly with welcomes and smiles on their faces. The place could use some paint, but I liked it. I’ll be back for more chicken wings! Caio.

Great live music and great cabbage rolls! Service is good, parking is fine, bathrooms are good. I need to see what else is on their menu!

I have tried the Bad Lieutenant and 5 alarm burger. Both were awesome. They make burgers exactly how I like them. My girlfriend gets the cabbage roll and she loves it. Staff has always been friendly, water tastes good and I really dig the theme of the place. Don’t let the location discourage you, this place deserves your business.

Humble good food! If Angie’s wasn’t in such a sketchy area I would be there more often. A really crappy parking lot as well. Ambience leaves something to be desired as well… However I had the freshest and best quesadilla that I have ever had and te wings were great as well! The place has a history as well. Pat the owner is a retired fireman! Our server was sweet and I probably will be back!

Casual place, decent prices and food. The menu could be bigger but has your usual selection of appetizers, sandwiches and burgers. Nice staff and good service.

Nice, quiet(weekdays) Belmont bar with good homemade food and a good beer selection. Draft selection could use some work though :/

We tried this unassuming place after months of walking past it, and I’m glad we did. For the most part, the food is quite good. The Ruben, turkey club and haddock are particular favorites. The chili is kind of so-so. It has been consistently lukewarm :/ I’ve had good experiences with the service. We went there on a Friday in February(along with the rest of Belmont). It was jammed, and we had to wait a while for our food. Waitress brought us free chips and dip and comped one of our meals without us having to ask. Parking is a problem, and it tends to be noisy, but overall — good value, tasty food.

I usually get whatever is the special and have not been disappointed. Angie’s is a neighborhood tavern with solid food and a decent selection of cold beverages. The shots are heavy, the beer is icy, and the sandwiches are great.

Service was terrible, food was palatable but mediocre(at best) and the portions were small. Beer was cold and that’s the only good thing I can say about the place. Who came up with the recipe for the wings sauce? Ugh! Definitely won’t be back.

In my never ending search for good food at a good value I happened upon Angies FirehouseTavern. My wife, 2 kids(16 and 13) my niece(adult) and myself drove from our home in Waynesville to Angies this past Saturday. We arrived at around 1:30. The place was empty except for 6 – 8 guys at the bar. We sat ourselves and were given menu’s by our waitress. Turns out that our waitress was also the bartender so I knew service might be an issue. We decided to get an appetizer of bbq nachos for $ 7.25. The highlight of the nachos were the chips, they tasted very good. The chicken was hard to find as there was very little. What was there was pretty good but for $ 7.25, there should have been a lot more of everything… way overpriced for what you pay for. My niece and I ordered burgers and fries, they were pretty good, not great. My wife ordered the turkey rueben, she rated it a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale. My daughter got half a sandwich and a cup of soup. She thought the soup came from a can, I tasted it and thought she may have been right. My son got 10 chicken wings. I’m a chicken wing fanatic and was eating chicken wings way before they became popular(35 years ago). They were a 6 out of 10 in my book. My major issue with the wings was that 3 of the drumettes were served with just the tops no «handle» to hold when eating. I would never serve a wing in this condition to a paying customer. If they made it on the plate at all the would be free. The service was pretty bad, we saw our waitress 3 times, once to order, once to bring our appetizer and once to bring the food. We actually had to go to the bar side to locate the waitress/bartender to get our check. Service was a 3 out of 10. I was so hoping to find a place that has good food at a good value. The search continues…

So I decided that I need to explore my options for lunch more — and downloaded an app, which will remain nameless, that will allow me to shake my phone and it comes up with a random place to eat. So this is what came up as my first place to eat. I got the grilled chicken club ‘special’ with a cup of chili(which I asked them to turn up the heat on, its adjustable). Anyway the chili came out first, and was very good — so, needless to say, I was looking forward to the rest of the meal. Ah, then the chicken club came out, it looked delicious — but went downhill from there. It was rather bland, and the chicken was quite chewy. When I posted on twitter that I was going here — I got a lot of good reviews — several people telling me that I must have the french dip, unfortunately I didn’t get that message until it was too late. On the upside, the staff were friendly… On the downside, you can clearly tell that place allows smoking at night, or maybe its just 50+ years of smoking ingrained into the wood — but I don’t think so. No one was smoking when we were there, but it had that ashtray smell to it, not completely offensive enough to turn me away though.

Angie’s is right down the street from me, and I must say, a bar within stumbling distance for when friends come into town is a nice thing. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by other bars, but Angie’s does the trick! With a fairly recent exploration into draft beer(the first time I was there everything was in bottles) and great food for a more than fair price… this is becoming a little gem in my book. Okay, so Watervilet Ave isn’t what it was(from the pictures I looked at) like the 1960s, but you gotta give it to a bar to become a staple in the neighborhood that can support it. Angie, I’ve taken you for granted, when the weather is nice, I promise to see you more often.

Atmosphere seemed nice and clean. Was a little hard on the backside sitting on a wooden booth. I would probably sit somewhere else next time. The food was OK. My wife had the garlic wings. Not good. Was like they poured a garlic salad dressing over them on a plate. The chili cheese fries were decent enough. I had the club, which was on texas toast with very little meat. They did have a big screen TV in the side room but the sound was off and there were no other TV’s in that room. I will drive a block further to Slyders.

Great little local bar feel and Amazing cheese sticks! Made with Cheddar and a homemade breading… so good. Also had a «stuff Burger» — a handpacked Burger with your choice of cheese stuffed inside. Great personable service. While I was there saw a family with kids and an older couple so definitely mixed for the lunch and dinner crowd.
