OK — here is what will make or break this YMCA for you — are you a swimmer, or just someone who wants to work out/do some cardio a few times a week? If you’re the latter, then I would go to the south Y(Kettering). If you are the swimmer, this is the one for you — great pool facilities. Two things stick out for me — one, the facilities are not that old but are showing their age and then some. Just not the nicest facility and considering it’s only been there for 20 or so years maybe, it looks like it was built well before then. Two, the layout is sort of bizarre — the weight room is a long, narrow room and a bit difficult to negotiate when there are people in there. Plus, it’s in the back away from the cardio room so it’s less convenient than other places. The cardio room can only be accessed via the men’s and women’s locker rooms which can be confusing, and you have to get a key to get into the locker room from the desk attendant. Overall decent, but man they could have done a better job with the layout and the care of the facility. Great pool.
