Denny’s

First impressions… the dank, sour smell in this restaurant, like cleaning water that hadn’t been changed in a month… Staff was going through the motions only… food was fair but not worth dealing with the place. Find another place to eat where you can ‘enjoy’ your meal.

So, first off, the place isn’t really that bad. I’ve been here several times and haven’t really had a problem with the place until now. When we came in at about 10:15 on a Sunday morning, there were 5 table seated. Two tables were clean, all the rest were dirty. There were 5 servers. It took them about ten minutes to seat us. (Part of this is because I asked to have a table cleaned since I didn’t want to sit next to the bathroom. It’s a personal thing, and not something that I count against any restaurant). We got our drinks quickly, the server was friendly, the table was clean but not stocked. The problems came once we placed the order. (grand slam with turkey bacon and scrambled eggs with pancakes and hashbrowns done well; chocolate chip pancakes; hamburger and fries.) By this time I was hearing multiple tables saying that their orders were incorrect. Didn’t think much of it since our order was pretty simple. Once we got our food, though, (after and hour and fifteen minute wait in a restaurant that wasn’t busy and where there were two to three cooks in the back) the grand slam was a mess. The eggs were sort of over easy (if you like your over easy to swim in grease and still be completely raw inside and out), the hashbrowns were limp, cold and greasy. The turkey bacon was cold and partially raw. The pancakes were okay, but were greasy and made my daughter and I sick later. We also got a surprise order of garlic toast with the order. (This was the best tasting item that we got, and we didn’t even order it, haha!) The server did offer to correct this and said that she placed the order for the eggs, but after 25 minutes of waiting, I just asked her to take the whole thing off our bill.
We went in with the idea that scheduling an hour and a half for breakfast in a near empty restaurant would be plenty of time. We ended up being late for a family get together because we were at the restaurant for nearly two hours. The grand slam was primarily inedible. The burger was okay. The eggs were a mess. The kid’s pancakes were fine. Other than the server not checking on us for over half an hour, the service was fine.
Denny’s is a ²⁴⁄₇ fast casual restaurant. I expect it to be a greasy spoon. But, my order still sucked. It will be a while before I go back. All of us were sick after eating here.

DO NOT GO HERE. Servers would touch food with their hands, we submitted an order waited over an hour to find out that there is no ticket to begin with. Place is very unsanitary and I would gave this place 0 stars if Unilocal allowed it. For the money you pay you could eat at a bar with drunk employees and expect better results. I never in my life ever had seen such a grimey restaurant nor have I ever gave a place 1 star. I even made a point to tell the veterans coming in not to eat here. If you read my review I highly recommend you never take your girlfriend here or you will not have one to take anywhere.

If I am to step foot in here again it is because I fell and hit my head and have Alzheimer’s. Came here for breakfast today and service was just fine.
Let’s talk about the food. Would you like a side of food with that grease plate? I got a skillet with potatoes onions shrooms and jalapeños smothered in cheese that came with Two eggs over hard a large sausage and covered in a chipotle sauce. The oil was literally over flowing off the skillet. Every bite I took dripped a goopy shiny mess that would put the BP spill to shame.
Boyfriend got a classic plate with hash browns bacon and two over hard eggs and side of pancake. The hash browns were similarly swimming in grease and the bacon looked like it had been cooked 20 – 30 minutes prior and resuscitated in… you guessed it a boiling pool of grease. On to the pancakes: we have science to thank for their invention. It was an oddly spongy densely chewy carb that did not come from grandma’s kitchen made with TLC.
$ 22 later followed by 22 minutes on a porcelain chair brought me to the conclusion #neveragain #evenMcdonaldsisbetter.

For a ²⁴⁄₇ restaurant it was clean. Host and server were fairly quick, we had the skillet breakfasts and they were delicious. Coffee was hot and refilled several times. Overall a good experience.

Worst Denny’s in the entire planet. Don’t come here unless you wanna wait minimum 2 hours for your food, and sit with empty glasses of whatever you wanna drink, and don’t try to order a milkshake unless you wanna be denied because that would require them to actually do their job. They denied me of a milkshake because it would require 20 min to clean. You’d have a better meal in a alley dumpster, finding scraps and eating with leftover chopsticks, from the dirtiest Chinese restaurant in town, on a cardboard box, on a dinner date with a hobo.

Took way too long, super dirty, poor service, food wasn’t very great. Don’t waste your time. I’m not even sure how this place stays open.

Just keep on driving because between the rude wait staff, slow food service and dirty tables you’ll be packing up to find better diggs elsewhere anyway. Why waste your time? As soon as I came in I was «greeted» by a server who, before even handing me a menu, proceeded to tell me where I couldn’t sit, that the wifi may or may not work and that there are no working outlets; it just created a tense and inhospitable air for no reason at all.

Expensive since they have remodeled the inside. Very nasty dirty carpet is not what I want to see while waiting on my food. Also Employees yelling back and forth at Kitchen staff!

You turned my friend into pukes ‘McGee. Thanks a lot ya donkey pecker swallowing butt wipes. (that’s probably what you guys used on our damn food) PS thanks for the food poisoning.

Usually make it here once a week, Saturday or Sunday morning. Always get the Sante Fe Scramble with Avocado and it never disappoints. Good service too

Go ahead and assume every review posted is written by uppity entitled middle-​class folk. Every single time I’ve been in service has been been friendly and efficient. Perhaps due to my history working in food service I don’t put off that «fuck with my dining experience» vibe that so many faux foodie critics put off.
Treat people like people and they’ll treat you like they want to be treated.

Been in a lot of Dennys, this has got to be the worst one !!.Been here over a hour for breakfast. Unbelievable. DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY. does not even deserve one star! !

I’d stay away from this place. He service is worst I’ve seen… Some really unhappy employees who are fighting constantly with each other (apparently they think the other is more lazy). Food was slow getting to the table and was terrible. Go anywhere else!

Well its no surprise that Denny’s doesn’t deliver a quality dinning experience; the staff is inexpirence and frantic, the food takes FOREVER and is not very tasty, and the restaurants gross but its a Denny’s in Dayton… so once again i’m not shocked.

It’s Denny’s its supposed to be horrid. Tonight was especially heinous. Friday night, 2 servers and 1 cook trying to do everything… and not trying very hard.

Place was dirty and it took awhile to be seated even though they had more waiters than customers. Loud music coming from the kitchen? You have got to be kidding.
That being said, the service after we were seated was great and the food was pretty good.
But, I probably won’t make this a regular stop for me.

Greasy spoon. Staff are okie, food is okie, price is okie. Pretty basic offerings, with lots of chloresteral on the side.
