Great every time we go, good service and great food. Pizzas are amazing and the Texas tenderloin sandwich is awesome. Don’t miss out on a local favorite. Ask for the loaded potato pizza for an appetizer, no longer I menu but they will make it, you won’t regret it.

Doubleday’s is basically a local version of Fridays or Applebees. Super generic. I got a burger(I think the maui burger). The avocado wasn’t quite ripe enough yet. Besides that, the burger was fine. Super average. Their fries are not my favorite. I really don’t think there is much to say about this place. It’s really just a local TGI Fridays. The food tastes fine, but it’s nothing special. It seemed like a popular local spot, so there was a bit of a wait for lunch even on a Wednesday, which seemed ridiculous.

Pretty good food. Only been once, but enjoyed it. Wish there were more gluten-free choices.

What can I say, have been a customer for years. Eat in more to go. There have been ups and downs but they have always been customer friendly. This evening we got my wife’s usual and I got tenderloin and bean soup(paid extra) ask if all there they said yes. Got home soup was not there, what was was good, when I called was told come get it. To far at this time, OK next time just take care of one diner we will go one. Was told by I would guess uninformed Mgr. Nate Ankney your problem you can have some soup don’t really care about your past business. To bad over years we average $ 80 to $ 100 a month for years. Customers should count. Steve Anderson

Two meals: Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla and Grilled Buffalo Chicken Salad… Bring your appetite because they are very filling with leftovers for sure! The quesadilla was yummy and offered a twist to the standard quesadilla. Probably the biggest quesadilla in circumference and thickness I have seen! The salad was delicious for its hearty ingredients, hold the blue cheese:) I have read about the wait staff and how they can be a bear at times and I would say our waitress(older female) was not as pleasant as you would hope but she did refill our glasses and she did come check on us to make sure our food was okay. She was short, and represented herself as if she had other things to do besides wait on us(which I get that bc I’m sure she does but I feel you should give your customer the feel they are the most important people to you at that moment). I could have went to 4 Stars had the service been on top of its game like the food! But beyond that, everything was worthy of a return visit with the hope we will get friendlier wait staff. Oh, and don’t let the near full parking lot discourage you from going inside, the restaurant has a good size seating capacity!

If you’re look for great comfort food you will find it here. My daughter had a buffalo chicken salad. Great flavor and generous portion. I had one of the soups of the day, chicken pot pie. Think of a pot pie minus the pie. Yummy! The parking lot was full on arrival. Always a good sign. Spacious inside. We didn’t have any wait. I’d like to try the chicken Parmesan or a monster pizza on our next visit. Service is fast and accommodating. We will be back.

Doubleday’s has been a staple in my neighborhood since it opened in the 80s and has always been a favorite of mine. The service is almost always great and the food never disappoints.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. You have to time your visit, since it is packed a lot of the time. My favorite entrée is the buffalo chicken salad. It has lots of chicken and their ranch dressing is really good. The service is usually good.

A little disappointed in my experience. The food was very good, and the service was great, but I came on Sunday expecting to be able to watch the NFL games. We had to ask to have the games turned on and they only had two games on, the ones on CBS and FOX. Better for Sunday brunch than watchin the games.

Wow! This place is super popular, packed at 2:00 on a weekday afternoon. My first visit here, and the full parking lot was my first clue that this is one popular restaurant. So many unique items on the menu! I had a hard time deciding what to order. I’m vegetarian and I was happy to see roasted carrots, home style stewed tomatoes and other vegetables. The appetizers looked amazing, this would be a perfect place for a small group to order several different apps to share. Alas, I am alone so I had to choose only one. I chose the mashed potato pizza, hold the bacon. This was mentioned in a Unilocal review and it did not disappoint: unique and tasty, served hot and fresh, with sour cream and scallions on the side. This was really excellent and I would make a suggestion that they serve with house made ranch on the side –instead of sour cream– to kick it up a notch. I love old-fashioned stewed tomatoes and these were truly delish. Again I would make a suggestion: serve with croutons made from their own fresh brown bread instead of what appeared to be generic prepackaged croutons. Service was super friendly and fast despite the restaurant being fairly well packed. The hostess greeted me as soon as I walked in and seated me immediately. My server, Jenna, was super sweet and patient. The restaurant seemed to be full of regulars and I can understand why it is so popular. plan to return the next time I am in the area.

Amie is the ONLY reason a star is there. Breaks my heart to say this. I have been coming to Doubleday’s in Centerville for 25+ years. My late husband was part of the team who opened this restaurant – celebrated hundreds of events here and dine here regularly. Tonight is HANDSDOWN the WORST experience I’ve actually had in a restaurant. EVER. Waitress was angry from the get go… Handed us our drinks and never came back. 20 minutes later, we had to ask another server for the Manager. He took our orders and walked away. Not once have we heard an apology for our experience… Yes, I am still sitting in the booth. Next to a group of three who were seated 15 minutes after us. They are collecting their check. We still don’t have food. Oh wait. It’s here. And … drumroll please … my food is wrong. AMY! You are a class act. The first person to apologize. Thank you for relaying the message that management wanted to offer us free dessert. We know you didn’t take our order so you wouldn’t have noticed us ordering from the lean menu… You, AMY, deserve a tip. It will be the last tip we leave here. EVER. Mgmnt did give us 50% off our bill. Thanks. You still lost one of your most loyal customers. There is NOEXCUSE for abhorrent customer service.

Tonight was our second trip to double days and it will be our last. The service was exceptionally slow, it was a typical dinner rush but the server was one of the slowest I’d ever experienced at any restaurant in the world. Our macaroni and cheese tasted as if it had been sitting out for 20 minutes before they brought it to the table. Normally I love double days Mac and cheese but tonight I took one bite and set it aside. The restaurant just seems hit or miss depending on who’s serving you and for the money and location there’s better choices.

I understand why this place has so many regulars. Good food, good service, fair price. The wife and I ordered take-out, and found the fish and chips to be pretty good. They did a great job of getting me out the door with my food. Although I have only been here once, we will definitely be back, and would enthusiastically recommend it to others. The focus isn’t on a gimmick or a huge menu, but doing things right to build repeat business. Clearly, they have built a huge repeat business.

We live in Centerville and used to love this restaurant and ate there once a week. Last year we went in and all ordered the gyro sandwich which was new on the menu(at least to us it was new.) It was a joke for 9.95. 3 or 4 very thin slices of prepackaged and sliced gyro meat. the only thing served with this was the pita and lettuce. That was the only thing on the plate and the plate was half empty. Didn’t fill up my 11 year old let alone my wife and me. Complete joke. I mentioned to the waitress how we were dissappointed and all she did was shrug! We left and when I got home emailed the restaurant from the address on their we site. No response. I guess they are so busy they don’t care about losing a good customer. I tell everyone about our bad experience if anyone mentions the restaurant. (And i still cannot believe how small those sandwiches were!)

This is our absolute favorite restaurant! We eat here every Saturday night! This is a family-owned place and the family knows what they are doing. For years, we had Sunday breakfast at The Golden Nugget, after Church– the staff knew our drink orders before we hit the seats! Same thing here– our beloved bartenders– Sean and Stevie know what we like and have it ready when we hit the bar stools!, the food is amazing– everything is good! But we love the Monster pizzas– best pizza in Dayton! We enjoy sitting at the bar because we meet so many fun and interesting people; as regulars, we have become friends with other loyal customers! We adore the staff who treat us like royalty– not only Sean and Stevie but also Steph, Katie, Kelly, and John! Great place, great atmosphere, great food, great friends! This family does it right!

Best place to eat in Dayton I love their 2 handed tenderloins and loaded up monster pizzas. The chile could win every time in a chile cook off. Now if they would quit using frozen hamburger patties and start using fresh beef smashed into a patty by hand I would quit going to Applebee’s for a good burger.

The food deserves five * ‘s but the parking situation here stinks. It’s just too irritating to walk from the largest parking lot which is behind the strip mall site in 20 degree biting wind across a sheet of ice. It just starts your evening dining experience off bad.

This place is always packed. Even lunch typically has a wait. Its a very popular local place. It will remind you somewhat of an Applebees inside but I assure you the food is much better than that. They really need to consider a second location. I think their crowd of regulars could support it. I have been here many times and I always enjoy it… once we get seated :) We typically sit a the bar so we rarely have to wait. They have the best soup selection that I know of in the Dayton area. I believe they usually have 6 — 8 different soups to choose from. I have tried most of them and they are always satisfying and flavorful. The menu has a decent appetizer selection. Your standard bar bites and then some. A great variety of sandwiches, and many tasty entrees to choose from. They are so well known for their pizza that they have a separate entrance and name for that part of their business… Monster Pizza The service is always friendly and helpful. I was surprised to learn that most of the employees here have been with them for years. I spoke to a few employees that had been here 10+ years. If I can share a negative its that the bathrooms are typically less than desirable. Its one of those that if you absolutely must go, its a rushed event. They never look that bad. It just usually smells like a barn. Im not sure if its drain problems or the lack of automatic flushers. People don’t seem to know how to operate the manual flush anymore. Overall, Im a fan of this place. Great #Local #Dayton restaurant.

This is THE spot for a good stiff drink in Centerville. I’ve never ordered a margarita that didn’t please me here(and that is hard to do). We get the mashed potato pizza nearly every time we come here, it is just wonderful. Their pretzel bun cheeseburgers are also very good. My only qualm is that Double Days closes a bit early for my tastes.

We ended up meeting a friend here for a quick bite. I didn’t really know what to expect. they have a large selection of different items and varieties on their menu, so no need to worry. I ended up going with a pizza and my wife had a sandwich. Both were good and well seasoned. They also have some beer on tap includin Yienling. The food came out pretty quick and the service was good.
