Absolutely love this place! Food is great! And the wait staff is even better… Friendly, fast & courteous staff! I used to work nearby, and my coworkers and I would often dine in or carry out(although, I prefer dining in). Just last week some new coworkers and I were in that neighborhood and decided to stop their for lunch! They loved it! One even mentioned adding it to her & her hubby’s date night rotation(even though they live 45 – 60 min away). I’m giving it 4 stars because the exterior is, well, not nice… But that’s not their fault. Don’t let the fact that the neighborhood is not the best deter you from going here! I highly recommend making the trip!

El Grecos is a little hole in the wall place in a part of town many people would rather avoid. After many of my friends telling me over and over that I needed to go there and try the tacos. Finally I went and had some tacos. To start the place is quite small, one side a take out, the other size a dine in area with a small bar and a handful of booths. Lighting is dim, wood paneling abounds, it feels like the 1970s somehow managed to timewarp a flatscreen TV into their era. I like it. The server was quick to get to my table, bring chips & salsa, and ask what I wanted to drink. They have wine and beer, no liquor. She was also quite quirky and funny, making several odd but humorous comments during the meal. I liked her too. There aren’t really many options when it comes to tacos. The tacos are crispy shelled, ground beef, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and green onions. They’re basically $ 2 each except on Tuesday when they’re $ 0.99. These are obviously not traditional tacos, but they are loaded. The beef is somewhat sweet and doesn’t really remind me of even fast food taco seasoning, but rather some other sweetened spiced beef. The toppings are more than plentiful, cheese in particular and you sort of have to pack it all down into the shell and pick up the overflow with a fork or your fingers. The salsa or taco sauce in the red squeeze bottle is slightly sweet, a little spicy, and pretty darn tasty. Once again, it doesn’t taste anything like traditional or even other common taco sauces, it is rather unique. I will have to return to try other menu items. I’ve been told that the Peta is excellent. This place fills a strange niche between fast food tacos and americanized mexican restaurant tacos. Given that they are unique, have a unique atmosphere, and a notable old school vibe, I highly recommend going here at least to check it out. On Taco Tuesday I can’t imagine you’ll find much of a better deal than $ 1 tacos given that these aren’t wimpy little things, but have serious weight to them.

9 July 2014 — – Lunch When I first heard of this place I was told they had awesome tacos. When I arrived I was told they had«great» pizza as well. Atmosphere: This is a typical looking Dayton style restaurant. And by that I mean suburbanites would probably not come here… foolish. It’s a little run down looking but these are the types of local hidden gems I love! Inside there are 2 sides/sections, 1 with a bar where alcohol is served and the other is more café style seating. I sat in the latter. I asked the gentleman taking orders what was good, he chuckled and named about everything on the menu. I ordered the lunch special, 3 tacos and a large fountain pop for 5 bucks! And since I love pizza, a small 9 inch pizza with pepperoni, sausage and onions. Food: We sat down and about 2 minutes later our drinks were brought along with some chips, salsa, and taco sauce, all made in house and all tasting excellent! About 10 minutes later the tacos and pizza arrive. First off the tacos: They definitely did not disappoint and with the addition of the hot sauce were extremely delicious. The pizza was great as well. It reminded of casano’s 12ish years ago, back when it was real good. Overall: Really loved this place and can’t wait to go back! The only bad part is that I didn’t come to this place sooner

Man so glad I’ve found this place again. Last time we ate here was when, I was a kid back in 1974. Me and my parents used to live at 1604 england avenve. My parents were Thomas and Phyllis Coatney. We always used to get the spaghetti and meatballs, the burritos, the cheese PETA with sliced tomatoes. We also used to get bowls of feta cheese and black olives. My family and the owners used to get Feta cheese from the Lebanese deli not too far away. the ladies who ran the counter could not believe I loved feta cheese. I saw the pictures on Facebook, and it looks just like I remembered Especially the menu board. Would love to buy a tee shirt for old times, since I now live in Colorado.
