Wanted to try something new. Hard to find good fresh seafood in Dayton. Whelp, my search is over! Ordered 1.5lbs of fresh walleye and 1 lb of sea scallops. Used the walleye for street tacos… Amazing. Then cooked the scallops in a little coconut oil. Absolutely amazing. So fresh. Delicate texture on both! Can’t wait to go back tomorrow and see what is fresh!

Wow… who says you can’t get good seafood in the mw? The employees are extremely helpful and have fun while doing so. The best part is that they bring the fish out to you to inspect before packing it up. Great service. Fish is fresh.

Born and raised in Boston and San Francisco, I was desperately searching for some fresh fish in the area. This place is well worth the trip due to quality and service. At first, I walked in and didn’t get it. There was two freezers with food, and I wondered if Unilocal let me down this time. When thinking of a fish market, I’m use to seeing my fisherman with red boots walking around with fish on ice and in tanks. Nope! This is the deal. The nice women in front gave me the complete tour and explanation. There is a board in the front with the catch of the day and price sheets on the table. You place your order(you can call ahead too) with the women for Halibut, trout, etc. and ask for them to debone it/anyway you want it. They have all the fresh fish in the back and come out and show you the filets. The quality is exceptional. Yes, it is pricey– but you get what you pay for. I also think it’s cool that they have menus of the local restaurants that use their products on displays. All and all– if you love seafood– def need to check it out!

Foremost Seafood goes beyond what you can find in cities twice Dayton’s size. They have a superb variety and the fish couldn’t be fresher… They filet it right off the fish to your exact specifications! Their products aren’t cheap, but they’re worth every penny.

What does a Japanese girl do in Dayton but search for the nearest source of fresh fish. I called another Japanese lady and after a 30 minute drive, I found fresh fish. The fish selection here was impressive, some supposedly sushi grade. I’m not going to try though.
