Godfather’s Pizza

My husband and I met at God Father’s Pizza over 20 years ago. We were visiting Dayton and came across this God Father’s. The pizza was as good as we remembered it to be. What made the visit even better was the very curteous staff!

Ok enough place, but with the bland salad bar (not worth the $ 6.49 charge by a long-​shot) and the lackluster pizza (not even SLICES could bring it past mediocre!!) it’ll be an offer I certainly CAN refuse in the future…
It WAS clean, quick (how exactly DID they get our veggie pizza from ordered at the counter to our table in less than 10min??) and convenient (esp. on Mother’s Day, when most other places would have had us waiting FOREVER…) but in a sea of so-​so pizza options, while Godfather’s doesn’t exactly «swim with the fishes,» it wouldn’t really be my «go-​to» any time soon either!

god fathers is my favorite pizza it does not get any better then this, i drive 45 one way to eat god fathers pizza. keep up the great work.

This place is horrible! Went to get a carry out and was ignored by employees for several minutes. Then when I was acknowledged she was rude and curt. I called to speak with manager/​general manager and he told me how «the customer is not always right» and told me the customer «never» comes first. He was very rude and blamed me for being treated badly. I will never go back again! And the pizza was subpar at best. Save your time and go to Pizza Hut!!!

Had a pepperoni pizza. It was okay, nothing special. It was Sunday night and they were slow. There was more wait staff than customers. As a result we were over serviced. Every 4 – 5 minutes someone stopped by our table, interrupted our conversation to see if we needed anything. It was annoying. The place was clean and had TVs going with football. Not a great experience, not bad, just okay. Probably won’t go back.

Overrated and overpriced pizza. For the price, you’d expect higher quality ingredients. Sadly, you can find better pizza at Pizza Hut.

Haven’t eaten Godfather’s Pizza in years, and boy do I miss it. Recently found one near where my Dad lives, and it was everything I remember. Great sauce, tons of toppings, and if you can eat more than 2 or 3 slices you’ve accomplished something. Gonna be on my list of things to hit every time I go to OH to see my Dad.

My wife really liked it, but I didn’t care for it at all. To me, the crust was tasteless and the sauce was very bland. We had no problem with the service. They were friendly and did a nice job.
It’s pricey, and at least for me it is not worth the price. My wife disagrees. We won’t be back for dine in, but I will probably be stopping to get a take-​out «mini» for her in the future.

I wasn’t super impressed, but it was better than average. You order your pizza at a counter and they give you a number for your table. You seat yourself and a server has to walk around with your pizza to find you. I don’t remember the alcohol options here, as I only got water. I think it was beer only. I got an order of breadsticks and a pepperoni pizza. Both were great! The pizza has a hint of cinnamon to it. The place is a bit overpriced though. Also we had to wait forever for our server to give us our check. Other than that, the staff was pretty friendly and the food excellent! I would recommend going here every now and then as a treat.

We went here because of Chunk in The Goonies. There, I said it .
The pizza was deep dish style and we got one with lots of meat. The bacon wasn’t the crumble sort, but the way bacon normally looks, so that was a pleasant surprise.
The staff was fantastic, coming by to get us drink refills and to take away our tray. They worked hard to keep our area clean by taking care of our trash. This is one of the places where you order your food at the counter instead of waiter service, but they make up for it the great service.
We enjoyed the pizza and will likely return. :P

A great pizza!!! I love this place. It’s over an hour from where I live, and definitely worth it. It is a little expensive, but again, worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and did I mention the pizza is great?!

Omg, I waited in heavy anticipation for this location to open, along with most of the county apparently! They were so busy the first 6 months, they couldn’t even take phone calls!
Thank goodness it’s leveled out since then, but they still have a steady flow of traffic. I grew up on Godfather’s. The next closest store is like 30plus miles away.
THE best pizza around by far! True Chicago style. As to cost, we usually order the biggest pizza with basically every topping for $ 25.99. That may be a lot compared to the conglomerates nearby, but nowhere near what it’s worth for an 18/​20in pie with over 10 toppings. Not to mention, each of us can only eat a slice or two before we’re completely full! This compared to a bare minimum of 3 slices from anywhere else.
Only downside is the hours. Closed Mondays and at 10pm each day.

My wife swears by this place, I think it is ok, but better then most delivery (domino’s, pizza hut…), but over all I feel it is a bit pricey. The atmosphere is good, and the staff friendly, and the set up ok.
Worth the drive??? Just ccasionally.
