Great food. Favorites are BLT, Rueben, salads, and Friday Fish. Service can be slow but always friendly.

Great bar and the food is pretty good as well. Prices are very reasonable. The cheesesteak and Reuben are great choices.

Visit my Twitter page for suggestive food tweets from my alter ego, Dayton Food Ho. @daytonfoodho Not only does Harrigans Tavern meet the strict requirements we ladies of the evening seek(cheap drinks, dimly lit interior, and they seem like they can keep a secret), this place offers way more. The bar is enormous and wraps around so every gentleman there can get a look-see at MY «bar menu»(if you know what I’m sayin’), there’s a mess of stuff thrown all over the walls which helps keep any errant kids eyes off my game, and it’s so dark I can almost get away with no nylons. Foodwise, yes, it’s bar fare. But pretty ok bar fare. The pizza is great. Piping hot. The burger was juicy. I’m not sure it was real Swiss on there as advertised… but I wasn’t going to ask. The Philly steak could use some moisture — it was drier than a popcorn fart. But the chili was superb — meaty, rich and spicy enough. If you want to disappear at 10am and pretend it’s 2 am, Harrigans Tavern will get the job done.

Why is there a child running around a bar?! And in and out of the kitchen!?! That’s very unsanitary and I’m pretty sure illegal. When I walked into the door, this terrible musty smell assaulted me. My god, it was horrible. The place was dingy, dark, dirty, and definitely didn’t remind me of my heritage. The only time the bartender paid attention to me was when I walked in and she said«carry out order!?!» I shook my head and sat at the bar and she ignored me the rest of the time. No offer to get me a drink or show me a menu — which I would not have wanted anyway after seeing, and smelling, the inside. From what I saw of the kitchen, a very small corner, it was FILTHY. Only three tables filled and no one bothered to sweep? There was a waitress just sitting at the bar drinking instead of actually doing her job. Food splatter on the walls and terribly tacky, smelly taxidermied animals on the walls. It doesn’t scream«proud to be Irish», it screams«proud to get food poisoning». BEWARE.

Went on a Saturday around 7 pm with a group of 6 and sat on the patio. A decent amount of people on the patio but inside was pretty bare. We ordered a couple pitchers of beer, sample platter and wings. After an hour and no food we inquired and they said sorry I will check on it. They came back and said food will be out shortly. We asked again 15 minutes later. They said they are making it now. During this time we notice others who came after us are getting their food. Finally after almost 2 hours we get our food. The waitress apologized and I felt bad for her because I don’t think it was her fault. She said she would give us a free pitcher of beer for our wait. We had to remind her 10 minutes later about our pitcher and she brought it out. We heard the table behind us complaining as well to her about the wait. The parm garlic wings were very good but not wait 2 hours good. She did heavily discount our check so that softened our anger but we are all paying for baby sitters so our time is important to us. Not a place I wanted to waste 2 hours of my night at. This could have been a 1 time incident but I won’t take my chances. I gave 2 stars because the wings were good

Food was good, but good lord, the confusion. Food was not as ordered, beers were delayed, and just general chaos. Wasn’t super busy either… But still, it’s a bar and grill. Wasn’t expecting fireworks.

I’ve heard nothing but good things, so we gave it a shot. I had the super bowl which is a pile of chili, cheese, onions, and chips. Deliciousness ! It was also inexpensive at $ 6.00, and I can’t wait to have it again ! For the reminder of the day I predictably let some super farts.

Bartender rude as all get out! I used to like this place, I will never go back. I ordered a super bowl of chili, with grilled cheese, and she brought out the biggest bowl I have EVER seen, then proceeds to tell me that’s an appetizer portion, I asked if my other food been made, she said yup! Completely, unreal. There was enough chili left to feed an army! I was very upset, then she charges me for 2 sides which my chili was supposed to come with sour cream, had to ask for that even. Terrible customer service, nothing like I encountered before back in 2012. $ 35.12, cause. i bought my friend lunch and 2 drinks and I had 1 insane! I never tipped her she certainly didn’t deserve it!

I was recently here with some friends and our kids on a Thursday during lunch time. There is a kids place called Run Around Fun Town right across the street and not many restaurants nearby so this was one of our few options. We walked right in and were able to grab a table. It wasn’t super crowded, but had a decent amount of people for lunch time. Once we got the kids and use settled in, we had to go find someone at the bar and asked for menus. We found out once the bartender came over with menus that they had a new waitress. Looking over the menu it’s typical pub food. I decided on a Reuben with fries. They do have a kids menu and it’s fairly priced. I grab my daughter corn dogs and mandarin oranges. My two friends got the Salmon Burger, they ordered their little ones corn dogs and chicken tenders. One got a side of fries the other got mac n cheese. We found that service was a bit slow for them not being busy, but the kids were fine so it wasn’t a huge deal. Once the food arrived it looked great. My Reuben was delicious and the fries were fresh and hot. My daughters corn dogs were a little overcooked, but nothing major. The chicken tenders were standard like most places. My friends had a bit of a mixed review on the Salmon burger. One thought it was decent, but definitely frozen and just reheated. The other thought it was way too fishy and couldn’t eat much more then half of it. Overall it was a good meal. Definitely the place for good bar food. I would be curious to see how it is on Friday or Saturday. I can imagine as an Irish pub, it’s pretty lively around St. Patrick’s Day too!

Mostly typical bar food. Good to excellent chili. Stay away from the pork tenderloin sandwich. Decent prices. Not much Irish about the menu.

Walked right in, went up to the bar, ordered four Yuengling’s on draft, cost me $ 8. No issues, no wait, no hassle. It was around 2:00 in the morning on a Sunday(Saturday night).

I like Harrigan’s. It’s your typical tavern. I used to go there when I was little all the time and loved it. Very easy going crowd, I’ve always had good service and love their trivia nights on Monday. Has TVs to watch sports, and a patio with tables to smoke.

Let me preface this with saying I have only been to Harrigan’s three times, twice for St Patricks Day(which gives them 3 stars instead of 2 in my book). They do put on a great time for the holiday with an outside tent, bands, and beer a plenty. However, the first holiday we were there, one of the bartenders was so drunk it took close to 20 minutes to get her attention, another 5 to remind her she took our order and then she short changed us by about ten bucks. The other time we went it was just like any other bar. The pizza was good, but maybe the beer helped that?

I agree with the first review. The service at Harrigan’s is ALWAYS shaky. They seem to get a pass from the locals, but I refuse to go here anymore. The food is nothing to write home about either… typical mediocre bar food. Bad food and bad service, not a good combo.

Recently stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for a beer with a few friends. We sat at the half-populated bar. The rest of the place had 4 – 6 tables occupied. Not in anyway I would consider busy or packed. Our first drink took about 5 minutes. I noticed a table of 6 came in, sat themselves(which I think is what the sign said). and then waited 5 – 7 minutes until one of them got up, went to the bar and ordered drinks. Shortly after, he got up and got menus for his table. There was a waitress in that area, but I guess she had so much going on with her one table already… dunno. I finished my beer. And waited. The bartender must have walked by 5 times. Someone else finished their drink. Waited. Finally we flag her down, and 3 – 5 minutes later we get another round of drinks. Shortly after, she tells us they’re switching shifts and asks if can she close us out. We had planned to have a bite to eat here, but after the glacier-pace of service and the simply lack of service to others in the place… we figured we’d skip. Two stars because the bloody mary’s were quite tasty. We probably won’t be back…
