It was good when I was a child and didn’t know any better. They don’t care anymore and nor do I.

This is place where there is always good food and plenty of it. Worth a drive. A favorite of our town

Lupita’s is the place to go in Downtown Dayton. They close for a month every winter and the people in Dayton wait anxiously for them to reopen when they get back from their trips to Mexico. The food is great. The people are helpful. You can practice your Spanish when you order or just listen to the people at the table next to you. For a real treat, order some horchata with your meal.

I used to work out in desolate wine country so there is very little close by to grab a bite. This little gem was already well known by other co-workers so I was down to try it. I became a fan after having one of Lupitas«wet» burritos. The sauce — I haven’t found anyone able to replicate it. — flavorful yet spicy. Their pork tamales are great too. Everything is very cheap by today’s food standards. It is a trek into the unknown but if you ever find yourself heading out to the coast or looking for a big burrito with a little of your wine, stop at Lupitas!
