I’ve been here a couple of times with a friend, and I really like it here. Driving up the rolling hills is fun and the vast greenery is mezmerizing. There’s a view of the landscape at every window and it really takes your breath away. The wine is delicious and I always end up buying one or two. If you’re a member you get invited to their special wine events which is cool. Nice people and great wine!

These people are amazing and they really do take care of the vineyard. If you ever get a chance, stop by and they will give you a tour of their impressive plantation.

GREATWINEGREATSERVICE. Must visit. We went to Methven on a typical Wednesday. This place had an amazing view – we could see Mt Hood and on a good day(with no forest fires) could probably see Mt St Helens too. We loved the wine and the amazing over-the-top service we received from the tasting room hostess, Shanna(sp?). She invited us to go outside and sit on their patio and she brought our tastings out to us. Shanna helped us figure out where to go next and provided us with maps. The wines were fantastic and different than what we had elsewhere. Shanna was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot!

I travel constantly for work, and I am a member of a few wineries, one in each region of the Willamette Valley that I work in. I chose Methven for Yamhill County – which is I would guess the most competitive county for wines in Oregon. First of all, I really enjoy the drive in. You essentially drive around the entire property, so you get to see all of the vines and scenery from every angle. They also have a very cool outside area with lavender and others plants, that I’m sure families would enjoy having a picnic at. Their tasting room is cool as well, and is very well taken care of. I like that they have a Gamay which has a nice peppery taste to my Palette. It was the wine I chose for Thanksgiving last year! Also a good selection of wine overall, but their reds are all so good!

I went here with some friends yesterday and we all enjoyed the experience here. Will et. all were very nice and friendly people, and I quite enjoyed their wines! If I were part of 3 others I’d join them! Had a great experience there though.

Recently went to this winery as part of a tour and I have to say I was very impressed. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and would be perfect for hosting an event corporate or social. What’s great is they also great customized wine labels if you are do need something personal for a special event. The tasting room is very nice and has a long bar perfect for groups, great view of the vineyard and nice patio with the same view. Some wineries are more about the atmosphere than the wine. But this place has done well with in both areas. Their dry Riesling, might be my favorite Oregon Reisling ever. However, I also really liked the 2011 Pinot Gris and the 2009 Citizens Cuvée Pinot Noir. The sommelier staff here was amazing, very welcoming and really took the time to discuss the wines. Great experience, I would definitely go back.

Bocce court! The Memorial Day wines, tidbits, and entertainment were generous for the price. The proprietress at the reception desk was warm and engaging. Too bad she was not pouring the red wines for new customers instead of the disdainful younger woman who pointedly ignored us while heaping attention on preferred customers. We were at quite a loss until the proprietor came back and tried to close the final pours with some chit-chat. Overall, we had a good time at the white wine station and in general, but we prefer reds and it just went sour there. Did not feel like buying even though we liked most of the wines. I enjoyed their wines and thought they had potential. I encourage you to try your own experience.

My friend and I literally got in a car from Portland and just wandered. I found this vineyard in a book with suggestions for vineyards, took a picture of the wineries and we went to a few. The woman that helped us at Methven was so sweet and it was a relaxing winery experience. Most of the wineries were busy working on their wines but she took the time to talk to us and tell us where to go because of our impromptu trip. She suggested places to eat and wineries to go to. The wines were really tasty also. I am partial to white wine and the reisling was particularly tasty. I would recommend coming here because it is how a wine experience should be: laid back, comfortable environment(even if you are in sweat pants) and full of good wine :)

Excellent whites all the way across. And their 2007 reserve Pinot is very very smooth and beautiful. I really appreciate the friendliness of the owners and their family. They are worth the trip out. They offer a much nicer tasting experience when compared to several of the glitzy, overdone, and stuffy wineries that are on my: «won’t really revisit» list. Methven wines are at a very good price point too. They are offering high quality, flavorful wine. Put them in your«gotta visit» list.

Will, the guy that was pouring today was super nice. Maybe it was because I’m from Hawaii and he’s been to Hawaii many times. *shrugs* My friend and I loved the pinot noir so we picked up a bottle of reserve! w00t! Oh, remember to say hi to the resident cat… Sammy.

Liked the 2005 Pinot Noir, even got a bottle. The other reds are drinkable, but not memorable. Don’t get me wrong the wines are not bad, just not perfectly balanced. I did fall in love with their Tuxedo cat though. Nice place to visit, beautiful views, I would go there again. For more good Oregonian wine suggestions check out my other reviews!!!

My first proper wine tasting took place at Methven. Lucky me, I had an insider’s look at the winery and tasting. Educated by Bethany(friend’s ex-housemate), we went through their line up of wines. Everything was delicious. I particularly enjoyed their 2006 Riesling which I should’ve bought bottles of. DAMN guess that means I’ll just have to go back.
