When it comes to pizza in Dayton, this is definitely my favorite spot. I have tried the OE, the chicken ranchero and the southern BBQ chicken pizza. Out of the three of them, the southern BBQ chicken pizza is my favorite. I walk over there about 4 times a month for that pizza! They also have live bands perform at different times throughout the week. Always a good time!

I was doing a show at the comedy club down the street, and stopped in here to meet family who live in the Dayton area for dinner before. Everything about this places screams«dive bar» and that is just fine by me, I LOVE a good dive bar. Even though it’s a dive bar, there are a few surprises on the menu. I had a Reuben Pizza, and it was simply outstanding. I can’t express how much I loved this! We’ll certainly return, but I might have a hard time ordering anything else. It’s kind of the perfect storm. A dive bar with out of the ordinary food. I’m a fan.

I have had a chicken sandwich at almost every place in Dayton, OH. The chicken sandwich, called the Derailer, is by far the best one that I have ever had! Their honey mustard sauce is made in house and is the absolute fire! Susan, the owner, is one of the sweetest server, bartenders, owners that I have ever met. Do yourself a favor and get down here ASAP!

I always come here for a show, it’s a good spot for that for the most part. Everyone has talked about their pizza but the secret is the soft pretzels with cheese on top and honey mustard on the side. It’s the best soft pretzels I’ve ever had, no joke. So why only two stars? Well the best pretzel ever can’t make up for terrible service. Which is what I get every single time I come in. It’s not that big of a place so I don’t know why it’s so hard to flag down a waitress or have them check back with you later when you want another drink. Really weird to me that the waitresses consistently miss opportunities for me to give them money and make me go to the bar instead. But trust me I have had poor experiences with the bar tenders too. Maybe it’s different during dinner hours but I’m eating a meal and drinking just as much as anyone else so would be giving just as good of tips if not more. I wouldn’t have taken the time to write this except tonight was the 4th time in a row I’ve been this annoyed.

So if you want interesting local music you may get lucky here. More likely though you’ll want to stop in for a drink and food since everything else serving food in the Oregon has closed, and the doorman will tell you you have to pay $ 5 for the band irregardless of your desire to hear their shitty music or not. Once inside you can get pizza or substandard burgers with a robust bevy of side items like chips and applesauce. And if you get the chips you’ll be delighted to know you’ve had them before because they’re motherfucking lays. They took them out of a bag in the kitchen and plated them for you, so you’re welcome after all! You won’t see your server much and at the bar will have to work to get helped, but isn’t that just part of the fun in Dayton?

The service was awesome. The pizza delicious! We went early and there was no wait. Parking was behind the record store.

I’m a fan. I had dinner on a Sunday in the Summer time and it was nearly filled with customers on the first floor. The server was really great because she politely answered a lot of my questions. I was in a little bit of a hurry so she noticed and sped up the food. She was also very attentive, especially because I was eating alone. I didn’t have to wait very long for anything. The Oregon Express Special Pizza was very good and flavorful.

Walked in with my children to eat pizza and was asked to leave because they were not 21. At 6:15. Rude.

Come here on a Monday night. They give 25% off on all their pizzas then, which, of course, is when we decided to check this place out. They make thin-crust pies and have a decent variety of toppings. The quality is far above your simple delivery but I wouldn’t crown them as gourmet. The beer selection is good, as is the ambiance. On weekends, they have live music regularly. This weekend, they threw a tribute to 80’s hair metal bands. I would have liked to go, but my mullet isn’t quite grown out yet. In all, Oregon Express is a fun, laid-back joint. I’d recommend it if you are going out with a group of 4+ and are looking to just socialize/hangout within your group. If you have crazier ambitions, perhaps look elsewhere.

Swung in for quiz night(Tuesday) while in town and was pleasantly surprised. The quiz night is really good, loud, and pretty interactive — actually, not nearly as stiff as my normal place back home. Impressed with service and beers. The artichoke pizza as great — a huge positive. Well done.

I ate here once before many years ago and I remember the pizza being good. This time around, we went upstairs and sat on the patio and had beer. It was a really perfect ending to a nice evening.

I usually don’t go out to the Oregon District, it’s not normally my cup of tea. I am also not a fan of paying cover charges at bars. I have to say though, I was very impressed with this place. I went on a Saturday night(December 13th) and had a great experience. The bar itself– Being there for the first time, it’s best described as traveling through a house with hidden rooms. When you first walk in they have a really nice bar area with a huge bar and several tables. Then you can go through a doorway and head into a bigger sitting room with tons more tables and a stage for bands to play. The best part of this place was the upstairs patio. I was kind of taken aback by the view of our fair city. I can’t wait to go back in the summer and sit out and enjoy a beer on that patio. Beer Selection– They had a FANTASTIC selection of beer. Many, Many craft brews. Some local and some National. I had two Warped Wing 10 ton Chocolate Stout and a Youngs Double Chocolate Stout. Both drinks were $ 6 which is very fair for a fantastic beer. So, the prices are fair and not overly priced. All the craze at this place is the pizza, I saw A LOT of people enjoy it. I can’t wait to go back and try the pizza. And lastly, the Service. The service was fantastic, I am a stickler for good service and I was not disappointed in the service I received here. The bartender was fantastic, friendly and very informative of her beer selection. Oh, and also the door greeter actually opening and closing the door for us was a nice touch. I will be back.

The pizza here is the best. Chicken Ranchero. Go on Mondays and its half off. The service is hit or miss, the servers can be rude on occasion, like we’re inconveniencing them. Makes me not want to go back if it weren’t for the amazing pizza. The bands they have play here are god awful. If you don’t absolutely love pizza go on down to Dublin Pub, Trolley Stop or Blind Bobs where the service is amazing every time and the bands don’t suck as bad.

Wow! What great pizza. Ordered a 10″(small) OE special for dinner w/salad and I am a complete fan. The pizza was ultra thin crust variety which I love and toppings were great. Salad was very ‘just ok’ with little else besides lettuce. Pizza was a definite 5 star(no better IMHO), but knocked the score down to 4 stars due to the salad. BTW, now visiting the first time on a business trip and all I can say is that Dayton is an awesome city with great bones for renovation of the downtown(so cheap for RE now, it has HUGE potential for redevelopment of killer properties, and people are so, so nice). It is a shame that the loss of manufacturing(and our country’s stupid hunger for cheap overseas disposable crap) has been so hard on this place. Unlike Detroit, this place has a real opportunity for comeback if the city leaders get their act together. What a cool place…

Known for their pizza, a group of us came here on a Friday night. They have a strange rule about charging everyone for drinks to get happy hour pizza pricing so I was going to get charged 2.50 for ice water. The waitress was kinda rude to our group and we decided to go spend our money somewhere else.

I try to give out five stars lightly, but this place deserves it. I find myself coming here frequently; their pizzas are some of the best in Dayton, albeit pricy, but they are worth it. Their craft beer selection is respectable and it features a lot of local brews. The place is very spacious and offers ample seating, even an outdoor patio come the warmer months. Stop in here to enjoy great pizza, beer, live music and soak in the Oregon District when you get a chance!

I went here with Friends on one of Dayton’s First Fridays. They had half priced pizza and happy hour so we decided to try it out. They had a good selection of pizzas, we went BBQ chicken. It was very good, and the service was good too. They had a local band playing in the side room. The atmosphere is pub/restaurant, seat yourself tables and a bar. Definitely worth half price, would go again. Great place to start your night in the Oregon District.
