Heard many great things about the food here. We went for a pre Valentines lunch date. We were told reservations are best so that’s what we did. We were running about 10 minutes late but when we called they said it wouldn’t be a problem. I’d read in previous reviews about outdated décor but I actually liked it. Gave it character and didn’t look dingy at all. I liked looking at all the Hollywood actors/actresses photos, Betty Davis is a favorite of mine. The stained glass windows are nice and even the small bathroom windows had them, how cute! Let’s the light in but keeps you from seeing the main road so close. We got a salad with our meals that was honestly pretty bland, the ranch sauce was nothing to write home about. I’ll try the soup next time. I ordered the Chicken Florentine and my husband had the top serloin steak. Both were absolutely delicious and mouth watering! So full of flavor. We both had wine with our meals which was good as well. I’d definitely recommend and try this place again. The food was great! We’ll have to go again for dinner some time.

This is the Real Deal. There is no restaurant experience like this elsewhere. A little difficult to find and with the garden growing right next to the door. The prices were reasonable for being a very nice restaurant. My favorite restaurant that I have ever been to. I like that it feels a little bit secret! I highly recommend to all!

Hadn’t gone there for years due to some philosophical issues with one of the owners, but decided to see if the food was still as great as we remembered from multiple visits over more than ten years. This was an anniversary dinner so it was a special occasion. The food was just as good as we remembered. Nothing’s changed in the restaurant; it’s still a small, quaint place that serves delicious food in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere with seriously outdated décor(make that 1930s/1940s). Our server has been there forever and she took great care of us. We had an appetizer, our entrees, and dessert. All very well presented and served, and still as delicious as ever. Our meal, without the beverages, cost us around $ 75, which, considering the service and food quality, is probably normal. But I noted the prices of a few items that have always been on the menu have risen significantly. Dinner for two can easily reach $ 150 or more, with beverages. Again, it’s a special place for special occasions. We’ll likely return, but not soon.

This has been a destination restaurant for the last twelve years and we’ve never had anything less than an outstanding meal. It is a bit off the beaten track, but well worth the drive, as we usually stay in Walla Walla… about a 45 minute drive to Patit Creek. The chef and his wife have owned and operated this restaurant since 1978. He turns out wonderful dinners and she does great desserts. Go there!

What a treat and diamond in the rough. Thank goodness for Unilocal because this is the type of restaurant that you might miss without knowing their reputation. Four of us had dinner last night, all ordered something different and everyone loved what they ordered. From soup to dessert it was a delight. Service was also impeccable. I would recommend to anyone.

Last week, my staff and I went out for lunch here. The food was absolutely great. I had a salad which was so fresh, it actually tasted like it was just out of the garden. The service was fast and friendly — the lady who waited our table, Jen, was terrific! I can see why people talk so much about Patit Creek Restaurant, as this is one classy place.

Given the rave reviews this restaurant has had over the years, my expectations were quite high going in. And they were decidedly not met. I should say up front that this restaurant is anything but«French»(as it was billed to me numerous times). Eggplant Parmigiana? Not so much on a French menu. I suppose the sauces were French-inspired, but that’s about it. The prices are astronomical($ 37 for the more expensive entrees). My NY center cut was good, but not great. Not particularly tender, and a bit over-cooked. I will admit that the sauce was superb, but for $ 37 I expect to be bowled over. My wife got a shrimp Louie salad, and for $ 16 got some lettuce, a few vegetables, and a small pile of what I could swear was Trader Joe’s frozen shrimp. Can’t prove it… but it certainly looked and tasted like it. Some Northwest publication rated them as the only 4-star French restaurant east of the Cascades. I don’t know when that happened, and as above, how it got to be categorized as French… but I digress. It *is* a sweet little place, tucked away in the most obscure of locations. and I suppose the photos on the wall are nice. But for me the food came nowhere near the advance billing. If you’re thinking of leaving Walla Walla to go here, I found at least one WW restaurant that far exceeded Patit Creek.

Although I lived in San Francisco for almost 30 years, and have dined all over the United States and Europe, there is only one restaurant that stands out as my favorite of all and that is the Patit Creek Restaurant in Dayton, WA. The food is unsurpassed and the service is wonderful. The Chef, Bruce Hiebert pays close attention to every detail. He does not serve anything that is not perfect. His wife, Heather, runs the Dining Room with style and grace, and makes the famous desserts herself. I simply cannot say enough nice things about this place. The food is mainly French — rich and tasty. The prices are geared towards their local customers, so people from urban centers will be amazed at the bargains on the menu! The Patit Creek Restaurant is also known for their collection of Golden Age Hollywood Portraits, each printed from the original studio negatives by the famous Hollywood photographer and author, Mark Vieira. See if you can spot the portrait Mr. Vieira did of the Hieberts a few years back. Enjoy your dining experience at The Patit Creek Restaurant… you won’t forget it.

So last year my husband left work a little early, and told me he was taking me out to eat but we had to enjoy a nice car ride to get to it… i was a bit perplexed, being new to the Tri-cities i was wondering where and why we had to travel to eat dinner. Why you may ask i have taken so long to write a review… well i took the restaurant for granted and didn’t realize the gem we have in this neck of the woods. When we arrived there, hubby started to get nervous thinking maybe he had made a mistake to bring me there, you see the outside is unpretentious or ostentatious. But as you walk in, you step back in time, as the dining room invites you to enter a world of art deco, hollywood black white photos on the walls and very nice music. I really loved the way they folded the napkins that i even took a photo! We were greeted and sat by a bit nervous waiter but who was very professional. To my delight i could see the kitchen from where i was sitting when the doors would swing open and close as the dishes were coming out. Our waiter recommended a wonderful bottle of wine which went very well with the meal. you are given these amuses bouches which were mini ice cream cones filled with a delicate mousse. Our main course was fabulous — i was in heaven! The sauce was amazing and the steak cooked to perfection. This place is worth the drive and the money — you will have a wonderful meal.

This little restaurant goes the extra mile! Not only is the food incredible, but the little touches of elegance are amazing. There were freshly cut flowers everywhere and even served with our food! Its the little touches like that that make you feel very special. I am on a gluten free diet and the waitress and the chef made sure that my meal was entirely gluten free… and they were happy to do it. I have never been to a restaurant that has gone above and beyond for me like Patit Creek. I highly recommend this restaurant for its amazing food, wonderful wine, exceptional staff and country charm! Definitely 5 stars for me!!!

I honestly did not know what to expect. The drive leading up to the restaurant was picturesque and serene through the sleepy towns of Prescott and Waitsburg. As I drove through Dayton I doubted my dinner mates who touted this establishment as a 5 star restaurant. As we walked into the small restaurant with its wooden walls adorned with black and white 40’s glamor photos, bright pink peonies and tuxedo folded napkins(the host offered lessons in napkin folding) I knew that I was in for something special. I felt like I was let into a secret. What was most striking were the quaint little touches to the meal. The pat of butter is decorated with a flat leaf parsley. The salad had edible flowers and homemade crackers dotted with goat cheese made just down the street. Who makes crackers??? We surmised that the cooks also grew their own edible flowers. My salmon dinner had a slice of orange, watermelon and ornamental cabbage for contrast to the buttery base. Everything was well thought out. The proprietors obviously seek out the best ingredients. A sampling of everyone’s plate led to one conclusion they do EVERYTHINGWELL. They have a great selection of wine that I assumed were from that area. Unfortunately, they only served beer and wine but a small price to pay for the quality of food. I recommend it highly if you’re in the area.

We were in Walla Walla for a dog show and several websites recommended Patit Creek as the best restaurant in the area. It is a 20 – 30 minute drive out of town. The restaurant is decorated with old movie posters and memorablia. Tables are nicely set with linens. Waitstaff are very nice with the right amount of attention, not too hovering. During dinner we were visited by one of the owners who was happy to discuss the origins of the restaurant, their careers around Walla Walla, etc. The restaurant is owned and operated by a couple, the husband is the chef. This is a fine meat eaters restaurant: filet, steak with green peppers, various braised meats. All excellent. Wine list features several local wines, we had a great local syrah. I would probably not drive here to eat from Seattle, but I would certainly eat here anytime I was in the area. Prices were expensive, but that matches the high quality of the food and service.

Sure there are oddities in life, but oddities in Unilocal? How in the heck could the Patit Creek Restaurant have NOT been Unilocaled yet!!! This little restaurant is tucked into the Patit Creek valley of the sleepy town of Dayton, WA. The stories I’ve heard of this story over the years are legendary. I’ve heard people from as far away as California have flown into Spokane, and then drove a few hours down to this restaurant. I’ve also heard that this little restaurant and its chefs are some of the best from the Cascades to the Mississippi. With that said, I do have to say this restaurant is truly a favorite of mine – the 70 mile trip isn’t even a hindrance. I’ve been here a couple of times over the years, and it truly is an experience. One should be sure to call in to make reservations(just in case), because the dining area fills up fast. I called in to let them know we were dropping by after some local snowshoeing in the Blues. Ok, on to the good stuff! The restaurant is in a small building along Highway 12 within the Dayton city limits. Inside, the dining area is ‘70s chic(dig the wood paneling!) with ‘40s décor(there are silver screen pictures throughout — I liked the Catherine Hepburn). I asked, and the restaurant has been around since 1979. The husband is the meal chef and the wife is the dessert chef. There’s a wine bar area in the corner, and they had some nice jazzy music in the background. As for the food and drinks, I ordered a red wine(cuz I was set on eating cow). Now this place is touted as being classified as French cuisine, but it isn’t too completely alienating. I was torn between the specials of braised Lamb Shank & a T-Bone, or the regular entrees of: Filet Mignon Poivre Vert, Center Cut New York Black Peppercorn Steak, and Medallions of Beef Hiebert. I went for the…*drum roll*…Peppercorn Steak(well done). I’ve actually had this before and it was top notch both times. The Scotch whisky, red wine sauce was orgasmic. Apparently, the chef is renowned for his sauces, and I’ll certainly subscribe to that assessment. All in all, the experience here was top notch and memorable. For my friend and I, our bill was $ 115 with the tip, and it was well worth it(for yummy entrees, salad(with home-made salad dressing), tasty soup, warm bread, and two glasses of wine each). Oh, and we were warmed by the friendly spunkiness of our server as well as the welcoming chat with the owner(wife) as well.
