I don’t understand why one reviewer only gave three stars when, in the end, they received an extra piece of chicken. I went to this location for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful! Friendly service and quick too. I originally tried the drive thru but i missed that you have to pull over to the far right of the parking lot to get to the speaker. So I pulled up to the window and the server and I had a great laugh when I told her I thought it was odd no menu/speaker! I ended up parking the car and going inside. The place was clean. As for«being on Salem Avenue» as the other reviewer mentioned… whatever! Why must you bring that into it? Didn’t bother me one bit. I drove about 10 miles to get there and was glad I did. The chicken was fresh, hot, not greasy. And the onion rings were glorious! I can’t wait to go back again!

Service was very rude and they probably spit in my food. Chicken is amazing as always, chain restaurant. I waited 30 minutes parked out of the drive thru waiting for my food, longest drive thru wait ever.

I don’t like most chicken restaurants because I worked for a restaurant equipment manufacturer where they cooked chicken 5 days a week to test fryers. There are 3 places where I want to go to get chicken: Popeyes, Bojangles, and Checkers/Rally’s. I saw this location and decided to stop since it had been a while since I’d got my cholesterol last. When you think Salem Avenue, you think of all sorts of things, but not a newly developed fast food place. They were doing good business. Lakeiska was very enthusiastic, welcoming everyone as they opened the door. It was like being at McDonald’s in the 1970s. The company is always changing the menu, so I have to look. I ordered the 3 chicken tender combo, which comes with a side item, biscuit, and a medium drink for $ 5.69, which is a lot cheaper than the $ 7.99 or whatever I paid recently at another location closer to Cincinnati. The dining room was empty. I suspect, being on Salem Avenue, that no one waits for anything to happen – they just head home. It’s sad that life has to be that way. I still remember the area as being amazing, what with the Troutmans and Zapp and all. Salem Mall is all but gone and the Kon Tiki Theater isn’t even a memory now. Everything just looks so broken. In any case, the food was okay. When she asked what I wanted to drink, I asked for Mountain Dew but they had Sprite. I asked for iced tea – blank stare. She didn’t even get me a cup. I guess she was too annoyed by then. I ended up with the Lemonade, which wasn’t awful. While I’m not surprised, I got an extra piece of chicken – it’s kind of tradition for me at Popeyes. They always went the extra distance to make customers happy.
