To come to this store’s defense(in reference to the other review) I’ve never heard of a Salvation Army that doesn’t close at 6. The one in Middletown does, and maybe the Dayton Mall one closes at 7, but no later. Other than that, I felt very ‘meh’ about my experience. I, too, like vintage and found nothing! shirts with stains, maybe only three aisles of women’s clothes. Won’t be going out of my way to return.

What is it with this place? I find the best clothes here! Mind you, I’m into vintage dresses and skirts — and some of my favorites have been purchased here. They get new things in every week, it’s super cheap(less than $ 5 for a dress), and not picked-over like the crappy Goodwill in the Oregon District. I’m actually sort of nervous spilling the beans about this place. It’s always pretty empty and I like that. While they have a huge amount of clothes, I never have much luck finding anything else there. For furniture, go to the big Salvation Army by the Dayton Mall or St. Frances Thrift Store on Wilmington Pike. I’m docking it a star because they have the worst hours. They close at, like, 6! Once I pulled up at 5:50 and the Native American-looking woman who works there ran out and shook her head at me, as if to say«Don’t even think about coming in now!» Also, they always have some crappy R&B station blasting in there. They play a lot of Peabo Bryson.
